This was purchased to be installed the ps4. Works like a charm.

I found the auto backup software intrusive and unistalled it.

The drive itself works perfectly fine, but because it doesn't have any kind for encryption or password protection, I could never recommend this drive to a friend.

Seagate normally is a good brand - however, I've had some problems with getting this one to communicate with my PC (WIndows 8.1) for backups, not sure if it's the hard drive or the Windows Updates.

This being the second 1TB Seagate drive I picked up (first did not work right out of the box), I thought I was in good shape to store all of the data I just recovered from a corrupted external drive. To my dismay, I had no sooner transferred all of my critical data to it when it accidentally fell (no more than 2 feet) and now I cannot access my data at all. Tried Seagate tech support - they offered a solution which of course would delete all of my data in the process. Warranty on a device I've owned less than a month does not include data recovery. That will be $600 IF they can get the data back off. At least the Passport that I had was sturdy enough to handle every day use for several years before it eventually went south. Can't recommend the Seagate unless you're keeping packed in bubble wrap 24/7 and will never ever need back any of the data you put on it.

The process of setting up the wireless is very confusing.

The hard drive was easy to synchronize right out of the box with my computer. It's light, fast and portable. I would absolutely recommend this item to anyone needing to carry a large amount of space on the go. Fit's into a small pocket inside my laptop bag. The reason why I purchased the extra hard drive is because cloud storage doesn't always work when you need it. Sometimes the building you are making a sales call in doesn't have a strong cell signal.

I decided to buy the Ultra Slim external hard disk to be in the same line with my slim laptop, but probably I chose the worst one in the market. Just after three months the disk started making some noise and then was getting very difficult to be recognized by the laptop until the day that wasn't possible anymore and the disk is not working et all. To recovery the data I probably need to pay a very expensive service with the hope to recover my important data.
