I had a drive failing and needed to quickly back it up prior to startung recovery of the drive. Split this into two logical drives and recovered from the first partition back up to the new partition, before moving it to a new internal drive. Worked well.

it works wonderful! It holds a lot of memory!! I have one on my pc and i got this one for my husband's pc.

Works very well and is fast. The only problem I have with it is that it disconnects on its own. So make sure to disconnect if you leave and not use it for half a day or so.

I wouldn't buy anything other than a Seagate external hard drive. I've tried Western Digital and others and they just don't seem to be very reliable and fail after not too long. They have good support and have had only one or two drive failures. Most of the time one can just fix issues with the Mac Disk Utility.

It was good while it lasted but died after 6 months. The warranty is for only a year but thankfully I'm within the window .I'm currently trying to file a replacement claim with Seagate. FWIW, I had this drive attached to my Synology NAS for backing up the NAS operating system and configuration. It was on an out of the way shelf where there was no risk of getting bumped. This evening the NAS sent me a message that the drive was not ejected safely, odd because no one had been in the room all day. I went to investigate and found the drive still connected and still powered up. I powered it down then back up only to discover "the click of death" indicating a hardware failure. I've had great experience with Seagate HDDs in the past. All of my NAS HDDs are Seagate and operated flawlessly for years. Hopefully this time it was just bad luck and the replacement will be more reliable.

So far so good. I bought this to use with MacOS and it worked right out of the box. Reformatted to MacOS Extended Journaled. The hard drive is REALLY quiet, especially for a conventional hard drive. I am currently transferring 4TB of data onto the drive, and I occasionally hear a small sound from it, but most of the time it is almost as silent as an SSD! One weird thing, when I opened the box, there was a slight rattling sound as if a pebble was inside the enclosure. I turned it over multiple times and I believe the object fell out (though I cannot locate it). Hopefully that wasn't a crucial piece that operates the fan - and that's why the drive is so quiet! We'll see how this thing holds up in the long run. If there are issues, I will update my review.

Somewhat noisy and slow to wake up and retrieve files.

Everything I expected. Plenty of space to hold all my pictures, movies and audio.

I am shooting a documentary and need two hard drives, one for the videographer and one for me to add archival footage. I appreciated how easy it was to format and use, especially for someone with intermediate video skills. Also for the amount of storage the price could not be beat.

There are only 3 major manufacturers My NAS WD lasted 3 months<2drices> My NAS seagates are 7 yrs old Almost tooo quiet at 2 feet away Used to back up NAS Raid For off site rotation Flawless to date. Just dont drop it Pelican case wont save u lol

Probably the Best bang for your Buck item, I bought this particular item when it was on sale for $159 and i purchased 2 of them one for my ps5 and 1 for my Supercomputer, can never have enough space. I love it.

It works well on my desktop. A lot of storage and the upload is fast. However, I still haven't figured out how to work on my macbook yet.

Reliable and easy to configure on Mac or Windows. Drive has quick access and this is my second drive to consolidate all my data and backups on this drive and another drive that is the same 16TB. I don't have to worry about losing data if the drive fails because of the warranty and recovery tools. Great buy and will last for at least 4 years before you should copy your data to a new drive as a precaution, the your data is safe...Love this drive.

The best quality, price, space size relation. Love seagate quality and this 16 TB external disk is awesome.

Works straight out of the box, came with a variety of plug types for different outlets. Drive is very loud when it’s running and the plastic casing is pretty cheap-feeling.

It has more than enough room for my xbox x games. I use it to store my downloaded games so i don't have to delete them off my xbox x hard drive and then download them again when i want to play them again. It is easier and faster just to transfer them between the 2.
