Not very noisy by my standards. Added 20 TB so far, no problems. I don't recall if it arrived EXFAT or not, but I converted to that format anyhow.

Small price for piece of mind backup.

Seagate provides an excellent warranty service. I know this because a drive in my array failed and Seagate backed it up with free data recovery but I opted for a drive replacement without data recovery.

Seagate = security and value

So far it's been perfect, which is to be expected from Seagate anyway, but being assured backup files are safe is the most important thing. With Seagate, it's the safest decision you can make.

Huge storage fairly small price

Has added a ton of storage for things that dont need super quick access.. The ONLY thing I dont like and need to find where I can set it, is it takes FOREVER to wake back up once it idles down. Once I get that set to a bit higher setting should be a great addition.

So far so good... using as Linux backup server
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Few weeks of usage - using as a physical backup of last resort for the home server which I also backup to the cloud my ZFS raid. Reformatted the drive as ext4 to preserve Linux permissions and had no issues with that - the backup of last resort is just using rsync with a snapshot weekly.

Great Value

Just plug it in and it immediately shows up as an additional drive in windows. I saw several reviews that talked about the drive being very loud. That has not been my experience. I've copied over 20TB of data to this drive and I hardly know it is running.

It is NOT 24 TB. Only 21.8 TB.

What I do have an issue with is that it is advertised as 24 TB, even on the box itself, and the total free space is 21.8 TB, which is 2.2 TB less than advertised. And no, there is not stuff preloaded that takes up 2.2 TB. The files on it already take up 31.5 MB of space.

Runs faster then my prior WD externals. Got 2 if anything changes ill be sure to update this review
