I bought it to back up my files on my mac laptop, after told by rep i can use it for mac. I had to YouTube how to configure it for mac -_-. Anyway it works n not too bad for what i do.

It started beeping for some power related reason, but even when I connect it to a good supply of power it still beeps, had to send it back to the manufacture for warranty

My transfer was completed by the Geek Squad but I had a great deal of trouble getting information on it while it was being worked on.

Spent some time reformatting it for my MacBook Pro. The manual was confusing so I had to find a YouTube video on how to reformat.

I know that any hardware can have issues, but twice it is unacceptable. I bought this drive about 2 years ago to use it as Time Machine, as I have an external driver to keep all important data saved on raid 5, this one would be used to recover files from my Time machine when I needed, let's say a version of a file from one week ago. However, this drive just stopped working, and I didn't blame the product because I had used it for about 1 and 1/2 years. Then I bought a second one for using the same way, and guess what. It just stopped working after 6 months. This product is literally garbage, don't buy it, especially if you intend to use it to store important stuff.

I bought this for my son's PC and up until just after a year of use it quit working. The one time I don't buy the extended warranty and I wish I would have. He just uses it to store games for his laptop and it never leaves his desk. I would have thought it would last longer than 15 months. Not cool.

I would recommend this for people with very careful personalities, but one drop and it does not work. Please change this!!

CRUMMY software, not at all easy to use. My old one the same brand was better then this drive.

Hard Drive Speed - OK Built Quality - So so Design - Meh

i bought this but it has a sound whet turn off computer, that is not good

It works fine. Keep attention that it has 1.81 Tb of usable space

This device worked for 3 days only. I procrastinated in returning it and when I took it in to Best Buy they told me they had a 15 day return policy. I contacted Seagate and they told me to send it directly to the company with very specific instructions (it cost me $15 to send it). Now I am keeping my fingers crossed that they get it and I get a new one in return that works. Very frustrating plus I lost everything I had saved to the device :(

Not good for a Mac, especially if you have more than one. Hard to format for each machine. Definitely geared for PC only.

Received the first unit could not even connect Wasted time testing on multiple devices and platforms. Returned for replacement. 2nd unit functioned as expected.

Bought it for external hardware space for my PC and after the second day mark it completely stopped reading and was beeping

...the next day after getting it in the mail. It arrived defective. Tried using the hdd on 2 different computers, but wouldn't work on either. Kept making beeping noise. I've had bad luck with seagate drives.

It was showing 2 Tb memeory at the begining. I have teansfered some files to there and After some time all my files are gone and the size rapidly decreased to 31 Gb Imagine from 2 Tb to 31 Gb I did formatting but still shows the same Not recommended

was disappointed that it failed to work after a few time usage. could not return it due to time to return elapsed. but I have good usage with other Seagate external storage

This product was delivered damages. Never got a chance to use it and best buy refused to take it back so I had to pay to ship it back to the company for a replacement.

I bought this device to use on my laptop to watch movies on the train. When it is connected to the laptop, it causes the screen to black out. When it's removed, the laptop becomes usable again. The laptop works fine with USB drives.
