I wasn’t expecting this to run so well Considering it’s through a USB cable. I’m using this with the original PlayStation 4 before the slim and pro models. Honestly, loading times and general performance is unchanged when most of my data is on here. Of course, only game data can be stored here. Not saves or captures. Also, make sure you unmount it before unplugging it or cutting power to the system. The power strip shut off by accident and it had to scan the drive to repair. It was very quick and nothing was wrong, but PlayStation is weird like that in general. If you aren’t interested in going the route of installing a fresh hard drive and reinstalling the system firmware, this is your best option!

Much cheaper than buying a new console. Super easy to setup and is 4x amount of space of initial system. Can now keep all of our games instantly accessible with plenty of room to expand collection.

Great for storage space. Keep all my ps4 games in it as well as my psvr2 games so I can easily copy it over without downloading them all over again. Easy hookup too

After the original HD in my PS4 died and I lost all of my game data, I got this to save myself from anymore heartache. I had to check a few different tutorials to make sure I was setting it up to only save the specific game data I wanted. (A lot of instructions are for backing up the whole system.) Once I figured it out everything was super easy. I copy my saves to this drive after every few hours of play time. Also having the PS logo on the front keeps me from getting it mixed up with my several other external HDs. Highly recommend if you want to backup your game data.

Great external drive, I hook it up to my PS5 and now I have an extra 2TB of space. It's great and stores most of my games on it. Great product!

If you are looking for a seamless storage increase with portability, than this is your friend. It works perfectly with the PS4, just format and enjoy a large hard drive. The unit itself is also very sleek, small, and fits camouflage perfect with the PS4. Now I can play all of my large capacity space games without having to delete any of them to find space for other games. Very seamless, no crashing, Love it!

Great Storage for price but beware you cannot play Ps5 games off the drive. The guide will give you a little explanation on how it works and it’ll go a little more in-depth on your PlayStation device. For an MMD tho it runs really good.
