You can play PS4 games off of it, you can store ps5 games on it, once you remap it there is a 1.5 gb preinstall that will be there.

Great External Storage for your PS5

If stored, it doesn’t take that long to transfer to the PS5 and play a game. If downloading games directly from the store service, it takes 5x as long.
