Buyer beware! Bought and transferred XBOX One games onto external in an effort to free up space. Completed operation by shutting system off after verification of transfer and deletion of files. Next day started XBOX, external drive not recognized and green power on light will not come on. Went through hours of troubleshooting on the internet/Seagate website. Downloaded Seagate tools in an attempt to recover gaming files with no success. LOST 3 years worth of gaming, as well as all of my kids games....which was fun to explain. Seagate external drive is now a brick that is not recognizable by any Windows system!

So far this one hasn't broke on me but we will see, i hope it doesn't.

This harddrive is too noisey. at first it seemed quiet but after a couple days it would make a noise every few seconds if I left it plugged in and its just kinda inconvenient to unplug it every evening when i turn off my xbox. should have spent more on a SSD rather than this HDD

The hard drive motor will fail over time. There's no doubt about it.

Got this hard drive for my kids for Christmas 2020. It’s February 2021 and it doesn’t work. Looked online and apparently it is no good. It is beeping which is the indicator.

Works fine on xbox on og. Would be better with longer wire

Never even used it didn't work on X-box 360. Feels real cheap really light. Not heavy at all.

But could it have been cheaper, yes. Storage should not be that expensive.

Worked great for about a year and then died. Was constantly plugged into our Xbox so perhaps if we had unplugged it it wouldn't have worn out as fast?

Such a good buy i want them to keep releasing these great games

Worked great for a year then 2 weeks after warranty went out hard drive stopped working lost everything on it.

It's okay but I need more space so I went with the 4GB

Asked the guy in the store if I'd be able to run xbox series x enhanced games from this hard drive he didn't even reply, he just pointed at the xbox series x compatibility symbol on it. When i got home. Definately doesnt run series x game id have to move the games everytime i want to play... useless purchase. Great price if you using current gen. Next gen its useless. I dont even know why they say its compatible.

Worked ok for awhile, then stopped working. Replaced the connection cord, worked for another month or so, then recently stopped working again. Have not been able to get it working since.

This is probably the most inconvenient, non-functioning item I have ever bought in my life. The 1st one I bought worked for a little under a month before my Xbox no longer recognized the drive. I exchanged it and figured that maybe I had a bad one. Turns out that’s not the case. The 2nd worked for 1 day and bad the same exact issue. You can hear the external drive running but the light never comes on. I’m just confused as to how this is advertised as a drive optimized for Xbox when the Xbox decides to recognizing the drive in a matter of days. What’s the deal with this Seagate?

on the Xbox One, its very easy to fill the memory up, especially on the 500GB version. This hard drive gives you 6x more usable memory than what the system comes out of the box with, and the quality is superb. it only took about an hour to transfer my entire internal hard drive over to the 2TB, and the games seem to run better off this external drive than the system drive. If you are constantly removing game installs to make space for new ones, this is a must have.

After i got almost all of my games instead on the hard drive my Xbox would not read the games anymore. That took about 30 days give or take a couple of days and i could still fill the hard drive turning inside but then BestBuy would not replace it. I couldn't get any help from anyone at the BestBuy store. I don't believe i will be buying anything else from them again and i don't care if i have to pay more money at another store Because this isn't the first time I've been screwed over by Best Buy but it will be my last
