One year to the date (logged on to see if I had a warranty) and it died. No joke. Went to play my xbox today and my hard drive is not turning on.

The worst investment ever. bought for the Xbox and stopped working within 6mos. waste of money wish I could get a replacement.

Does not work as advertised. Product does not stay powered on. As a result, you cannot use the product.

Less then a month and makes constant clicking "thinking sound" is so annoying can even feel vibration and movement in the shell, its going back to store.

This is a great product. When you plug this into your xbox there is really no formatting. Your xbox will ask you if you want to use it for media or games. I chose games and it was ready in like a minute. It will also ask you if you want all future games to be downloaded on the HD. I then went to my games and moved them to the HD. (You have to do this to each game and you cant group them which would have been easier). What I really like about this is that it turns on and off automatically when the xbox is on but the HD will stay on when downloading games while the xbox is off. So I'll download games late at night and turn the xbox off and HD will still be on then turn itself off after all has been downloaded. I also bought the 2 year warranty from best buy just in case since there has been complaints about the seagate drives. It does have a plug for power supply so it does not run off USB power. It's also not that light. Buy a 2tb drive to run around to friends houses. Get this and you'll love it.

Inside these are retail Barracuda Compute Drives. They are decently fast and great price when on sale. Just make sure you run CHKDSK on the drive when you first get it to make sure there are no bad sectors from shipping. An 8TB HDD is as fragile as glass and can easily get platters messed up from almost any impact/shock.

Formatted immediately for my Xbox and allowed me to move games from my Xbox SSD to this drive in less than 5 minutes. The only down side is, you cannot play Optimized Xbox Series X/S games directly off this harddrive because the disk is not fast enough.If you dont care about ray tracing and optimzied graphics you can still buy the “Xbox One” version of the game and play it directly off the drive.However you can store Series X/S games on this Harddrive to free up space on your Xbox, you just have to move them back to play them.

I never thought that I would need more space for games. I figured I had enough with 1TB on my X-Box One S console. Well I was I so wrong! I had to erase some games from my X-Box, that is until I got this external hard drive with a whopping 8TB of storage! Get this Seagate Game Drive Hub for X-Box cause you will need it and it's on sale too!!!!
