I purchased my PS3 about four months ago with 40 gbs. I quickly went thought that wth saved games, video, music and demos. I went online and discovered that it would be easy to install. I would suggest doing it yourself. Also this purchase makes you feel powerful as far as the unlimited ability. You can put as much as you want with out any care of running out of space. You don't have to make the decision of getting rid of things in order to make room. Another suggestion get you a flash drive to transfer old saved games. Don't worry all software updates on the PS3 transfer over to the new hard drive automatically. Best descion I ever made.

It was a sad day when my hard drive crashed; however, the Geek Squad rep took me right to this one and it had the exact specs that I needed. Works great and provides a seamless experience. I would definitely get this one again if needed.

I bought the hard drive yesterday and installed it in my Macbook. I had upgraded my original hard drive before to Hitachi 230gb and I was running out of space again. There are cheaper 500gb hard disk online but it was my weekend project and I am impatient, so I went ahead and bought it at best buy. Installation is easy, and so far it is working just fine. My computer was slowing down so the speed pickup is noticeable.

I purchased this hard drive for my macbook and it was very easy to install and copy my previous hard drive to allow me to do start the macbook without any issues. Just like it was the original hard drive but now I have 500gb instead of 120gb. Now I do not have to have an external hard drive and have it dangling from the USB slot.

Being in the computer repair business, I can always count on Best Buy to have these Seagate 500GB hard drives in stock at a price ($49.95) that is very convenient on short notice. These drives are very dependable and the warranty process is very easy if it should fail within the warranty period. In my experience, very few average computer users come anywhere close to filling a 500GB hard drive, so this is the most economical replacement drive when repairing a computer.

I purchased this drive to replace yet another failed western Digital hard drive for my laptop. I have used Seagate Drives since the early 90's and as usual it performs as advertised.

Didn't have many options since my son's laptop hard drive died. Geek Squad recommended this replacement and it has worked great.

i bought this to replace my 80 ps3 hd a tip that took me 3 days searching you need to put a jumper to make it work if you dont most of the time will not find to boot the ps3 after that now works very nice no noise and i got over 300 movies in it . great price and great deal.

Laptop hard drives don't always have a lot of distinctions but the Seagate Hard Drives are very good for the price.

i made a big mistake buying the 80g playstation, or so i thought. once i installed the playstation home at over 3 gigs and downloaded an hd movie that only lasts for 24 hours at 5 gigs i really thought i was screwed. 'shoulda bought the 160gig, it was only 100$ more' then i saw that you could swap the hard drive out and that even the playstation manual tells you how to. didnt realize it was so common. so obviously i bought the largest one i could, this one. it was 110$ in the store. instead of throwing another 100$ at playstation for 80 more gigs, i threw 110$ at best buy (on my best buy CC) and i got over 6 times the memory. i never swapped a hard drive out but it was incredibly simple. at first i was too gentle and didnt have it in far enough. then i got a system error but heres the solution: one thing you will need is a usb mass storage to download the system update from PS using your PC and then put the usb in the ps3 before you start it with the new hard drive. and make sure you push the hard drive in all the way!! the system is incredibly faster now too, which i did not expect, let alone for the increase to be so acute. like im talking really really fast. installing resdient evil 5 with the old 80g hd took about 20 minutes i think. last night i installed it during the commecial break of that awful red wings pitt game that crybaby crosby teams won. i am so happy i upgraded to this because now my ps3 is the ballinest and i cant stop thinking about it and i want to go home and play right now. thats why im writing this review at work. great product. if the clamp, 'J' key, and screen wasnt damaged, missing, or contained red spots, i would def buy the same exact thing for my stinky laptop. but now i will buy a cheaper laptop that performs well and install one of these to cheat again. dude its so fast, i cant wait to beat some chimera online tonight! viva la resistance! what i dont get though, if its so simple to put that much memory into something, at such a low cost, why didnt the ps3 come with it? or my laptop? its like 100$ more to get 20g more in a laptop. im glad ive figured out how to get the most bang for the buck. learned that from my good friend pat burrell, the bat

Great hard drive for ps3. Easy to install and set up

I purchased this to replace my 80gb hard drive in that version of the PlayStation 3. So much more room to store my games, music, videos, and pictures! Definetly a must buy for those looking to upgrade the hard drive space on their PS3.

I got this drive for my ASUS 1000HE netbook to upgrade the storage no problems at all system detected drive upon boot up and let me reinstall everything with no problems gives out the same heat output as the original drive my netbook came with the same performance and no hit on the battery life i'm a tech expert

bought this hdd to replace the hdd in my ps3, went from 60 gig too 500 gig...when i started researching on how to replace the hdd i found several issues. 1. sony does not support replacing the hdd in ur ps3..even thought they provide instructions on how to do it. 2. sony says u have to use "thier" hdd when replacing the hdd...found several conflicting issues with that and found that the ps3 uses a standard 2.5 laptop hdd 3. did find that u can uses any 2.5 laptop hdd ONLY IF IT IS 5400 RPM'S..ANY HIGHER RPM'S AND U WILL HAVE PROBLEMS. 4. SONY USES SEAGATE HDD IN SOME OF THE PS3'S ( the 60 gig was seagete too)..SO I WENT WITH SEAGATE TO AVIOD ANY PROBLEMS. SAME STLYE HDD JUST MORE GIGS. installed hdd in my ps3, formated hdd, and reloaed back-up files...hdd works great and have not have any problems with it...works the same as my ps3 did before.... LITTLE ADVISE IF U PURCHASE THIS HDD T REPLACE THE ONE IN UR PS3..PULL THE HDD OUT OF UR PS3 AND TRY AND BUY THAT SAME STLYE HDD...(JUST MORE GIGS)....AND MAKE SURE IT IS ONLY 5400 RPM'S

I had to replace my failed WD drive and I purchase a new Seagate Momentus drive and had no problems with my image copy software recognizing the new drive.

Purchased this drive as a replacement when the old hard drive died in my Dell Inspiron. Works great & a good value!

A fine replacement Hard Drive for a Serial ATA laptop, external enclosure, or desktop. Excellent value when on sale.
