Simple installation, make sure you are done with the data on the old drive, probably not best to keep swapping drives around.

It just took me 30 mins to install this HDD myself on my laptop! that simple.

I buy these drive all the time. They work great and are perfect for what I need.

I bought this hard drive to replace my old dying hard drive in which case I decided to try seagate. Well, about an hour after I installed Windows, the hard drive "locked up" and started to tick, I really hope that was just a "one time thing". If it happens again, I will return it, and switch to western digital! Installed in a acer aspire 5520-5290 laptop.

I recently upgraded three family computers to Windows 7. I used it to back up important files to restore after the the upgrade. I also recently upgraded my laptop hard to larger drive. I used the Acronis Software the Best BUY Technicians recommended the Mybook HD made this simple and fast.

I bought this hard drive in around January of 2009 for my Playstation 3. To be honest, I gave it a 5 for "Ease of Installation" because installation on a PS3 is ridiculously easy. Once I installed it, I booted the system up and everything was great. I restored all my backed up data and things were looking good. The next day I turned my PS3 on and I got an error message saying "Cannot start. Correct hard disk was not found." I had to hold my finger on the power button in order to shut down the PS3. I checked to make sure the hard drive was still installed correctly and it was. I turned the PS3 back on and it started fine. To make a long story short, my PS3 only booted up correctly about 50% of the time after installing the 500GB hard drive. The other 50% of the time I got the error message. I thought I could deal with it but it ended up being a huge inconvenience since you couldn't turn the PS3 off with the controller when you got the error message. After a few weeks, I thought it was a defect so I went back to Best Buy to exchange it for another one and the new hard drive still had the same problem. I emailed Sony customer support and they said since the hard drive is not a Sony product, they couldn't help me at all. Since then, I reinstalled the 80GB hard drive that came with the PS3 and it has been working perfectly ever since. In general, the hard drive generates a lot more heat than the original hard drive, it did not work half of the time, and some things seems seemed to take a little longer to load such as Playstation Home. I bought an enclosure for the 500GB hard drive to use it as an external and so far it has been working ok

my girl bought this hard drive for my PS3. Once i got it in and formatted it and reinstall my backed up PS3 file it worked fine the first time after restarting the console i get this error saying "cannot find correct hard drive" you have to manually turn off the PS3. i think theres someone here who had the same problem. youll get 50-50 chance of geting it to work. A couple of days later i replaced it with the Western Digital Scorpio 500 gb i notice that its much faster and no error so far.

This Seagate 500GB Internal SATA Drive worked great as expected.

I purchased this drive from Best Buy in March of 2009. By April it had already started making grinding noises and locking up. I had Seagate send me a replacement drive (for $20 + tax).... same symptoms. I should have known better than to buy Seagate. Out of the 5 Seagate drives I have owned, 4 of them have failed. I owned an external drive from Seagate as well, same problems. It took them sending me 2 other faulty drives before I received one that works at $20 a pop for shipping and handling. Seagate's customer service is well below sub par and their products are far worse. Save your self the trouble and purchased the Western Digital 2.5" 500 GB hard drive. It is quiet and I have never had any problem with their products or customer service.
