This hard drive is very light weight and compact. No power plug needed. And impressively fast.

My external memory was less than a year old and quit working properly. I took it in and I determined (after Geek Squad could not figure it out) that it was the cord. They don't sell the cords. So, I had to buy a whole new external memory. My only thing about that is I truly hate waste - don't use plastic bags, throw away containers, nothing. Seems a shame to make more and more and more that ends up as junk somewhere.

Over all I trust the Seagate product which is why I have purchased them over the years. I had a hard drive crash and if not for my Seagate back up device all files would have been lost. It really saved my bacon. The previous versions were much easier to install and set up. I think I have it right now and it should do as I expect it to. I will continue to buy these products but may get help with install next time.

The Seagate slim is really nice, speed is great, size is perfect

The drives allows you to format it to be used on Mac and pc at the same time, saved us a lot of time moving photos between platforms. Nice bump in speed compared to usb2 but not quite thunderbolt speeds. Bought on sale but would like to see more space available for the price.

pc crashed and geek squad was able to save it all to the device.

This was my first use of an external hard drive. it's easy to use even for a beginner.
