My review is based on the comparison with the Bose QC45 as I needed a clear winner and see which one to keep. At first, I got the Bose Qc 45 while they were on sale for $229 on Black Friday, and got the momentum for $300. I take the subway every day going to work, and that's where I tested both QC 45 and Momentum 4. There are my conclusions: When it comes to the Bose QC 45: The comfort is just DIVINE (Piccolo approved ;-) ) ! the Bose QC 45 is SO LIGHT that I easily forget that I have them! I have no problem wearing them for an entire day without any fatigue! they are that light and comfortable and you barely remember that you wear them and are my always go-to! The sound quality is FANTASTIC (I just wish it had more bass), the EQ won't bring a drastic change but it's a welcome feature. The ANC is just TOP TIER as someone who takes the NYC subway every day, I always enjoy my music and podcast while on the train. Transparency is Great but not airpod max level. Now let's talk about the Momentum 4: The reason why I bought the Momentum 4 is that I needed my sound to be a bit louder and I wanted more bass without paying the price of the Sony XM5, moreover, when it comes to calls, the Bose 45 is not the best when you are in a noisy/ windy environment (subway and street) and I got quickly frustrated on calls as people would constantly have a hard time listening to me. The Momentum 4 has AMAZING SOUND QUALITY (better than the Sony XM5 but that's for you to appreciate) ! The bass is crazy, all of that without touching the EQ (when you play with it, it's even better) !!! The comfort is close to the Bose QC45, however the clamping force is a bit strong vs the bose, and sometimes you will need to take them off to relieve your head of the pressure, but Bose stays way ahead in terms of comfort ( as I said Piccolo approved) and can be worn for an entire day without fatigue ( for me ) , and the call quality with the momentum 4 is just GREAT and very close to the Sony XM5, I made phone calls while in the subway with trains passing by and people on the other side of the line had no problem listening to me (what a relief !) ! No one ever complained about how I sounded. The battery is just crazy almost 3 times the Bose (60 hours) ! ANC is Top tier too, and so is transparency but still not Airpod max level, but enough to hear your surrounding properly. my biggest issue with the Momentum 4 which is a big strength of the Bose is Bluetooth Connectivity and power on and off. Several times I had to check if the headphones were connected to my device or I had to turn off and restart the headphone to be sure it was connected, an issue I NEVER HAD with the Bose (just switch on and press play). Sometimes it's hard to know if it's ON or OFF as it turns on automatically and it's a bit confusing to know wether you really switched it off or not. I hope Sennheiser will address that with a software update. A personal one : I wish the momentum 4 had more buttons like the bose ( easy to operate in any season and no room for confusion) Do I recommend the momentum 4 ? ABSOLUTELY! What about the Bose QC45? Perfect Comfort , great ANC (the best for very long listening and travel).

Active Noise Cancellation (ANC): The ANC on these headphones is top-tier. I’ve used them in noisy environments like coffee shops, airplanes, and even during commutes, and they block out almost everything. What’s impressive is how natural the transparency mode feels when I need to hear my surroundings—no weird robotic sounds. Battery Life: The battery life is insane—up to 60 hours on a single charge. I only have to charge them once a week, even with daily use. The fast-charging feature is a lifesaver, too—a quick 10-minute charge gives several hours of playback. Connectivity: Pairing these headphones is seamless with Bluetooth 5.2. Sound quality is top tier (with the use of the app, else it sounds flat out of the box). Sound quality is clean, spatial, and full. It feels like the singer is singing right into my ears. Each instrument is well balanced and placed; no instrument overpowers the other. ANC is very good too. I cannot hear the loud construction that's right outside. I come from the Skullcandy Crusher Evo which is specialized for bass and percussion. The bass and percussion on the M4s are exceptional, but are not as impactful and intense like the Evo's. This shouldn't be a concern for most listeners, but this is something to consider if you have a preference for bass and percussion. This isn't a dealbreaker but the sound quality is the best at high volumes (> 80%). Thankfully the ear pads are soft and comfortable. But wearing these for several hours at > 80% volume is definitely not recommended for the sake of ear health (which is obvious common sense for any headphones). My main deal breaker is I can hear more from my right ear. I wore the headphones backwards and could hear more from my left ear. The stereos are slightly angled, so the sound is the clearest when my ears are closer to the stereos. Regardless of how I wear it or what I listen to, I still can hear more from one ear. I checked my settings and nothing looks off. Other than that, I recommend the headphones for the A+ sound quality, 60 hour battery life, exceptional ANC, and comfortable ear pads.

Pros: Superb Sound Quality: Sennheiser's audio expertise shines through. The sound is well-balanced, with clear highs, rich mids, and punchy bass. Whether I'm listening to classical music or podcasts, the audio is immersive and enjoyable. Effective Noise Cancellation: The adaptive noise cancellation effectively silences the world around me, allowing me to focus on my work or lose myself in my music. The ability to adjust the level of noise cancellation is a welcome feature. Long Battery Life: With up to 60 hours of playtime, I can go days without needing to recharge. This is a significant advantage over my previous headphones. Comfortable Fit: The lightweight design and plush earcups provide exceptional comfort, even during extended use. Intuitive Controls: The touch controls are responsive and easy to use, allowing me to adjust volume, playback, and noise cancellation seamlessly. Cons: Design: While functional, the design is less stylish compared to the previous generation and my Bose headphones. App Experience: The Sennheiser Smart Control app can be a bit finicky at times. I've experienced occasional connectivity issues. No Folding Design: The lack of a folding design makes them a bit less compact for travel. Overall: The Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless headphones have won me over with their exceptional sound quality, effective noise cancellation, and remarkable comfort. While the design and app could be improved, the overall performance is outstanding. If you're looking for a premium pair of headphones and prioritize audio quality and comfort, these are definitely worth considering. I bought these headphones from Best Buy a few weeks ago( a nice sale at $100 off) and I’m glad I did, the sound quality is superb!! The headphones are pretty lightweight and very comfortable for long periods of wear, nothing compares to these bad boys in one area and that’s battery life( 60 hours) I’ve had them 2 weeks and now and only charged them once. The design is nice and sturdy, not Air Pods Max quality build but for a plastic build very good. The App to set sounds and customization is pretty clean and well organized.. My only complaint about them would be they are a little on the quiet side compared to others out there, so if you want ear splitting sound than these will not be for you, but the quality of sound and bass are exquisite, overall these headphones are great and I’m glad I bought them over some of the others I was looking at.

I fly around for work a lot. Constantly in and out of airplanes, switching between my phone and my android tablet. These headphones last for over ten hours easy, charge incredibly fast and the ANC is killer. I can switch between my devices fast without any connection issues. The sound quality is really clear and isn't overly bassy. It responds well to EQ settings. I have big ol' Dumbo ears and these are incredibly comfortable during my 4 hour flights and I don't sweat with them on. I highly recommend these

The build quality on these headphones is absolutely great and does not feel like plastic, the cups and the band are also really comfortable and nice. The sound cancellation has room for improvement but its nothing short of good. What these headphones really shine in is their sound quality, one of the best i’ve experienced from mid budget headphones. The range of the sound and 3D quality is really great, and can of course be adjusted in the app. However I do have some trouble using the touch controls on the headphones sometimes. Overall some really great sounding headphones.

I love these headphones. They're very comfortable, the sound quality is fantastic and you can change the settings to your ears preferences, and the noise canceling works very well (better than most, not as good as some). The battery life is amazing, I haven't run the batteries out yet, though they did get low so I recharged. Zero issues with connectivity. I really like the touch controls, it's much easier than trying to find buttons.

When I was searching for a high-quality pair of headphones for my office, I scoured the market until I found these. My requirements were clear: good sound quality, Bluetooth connectivity, noise-cancelling capabilities, and long battery life. These headphones tick all the boxes, although the noise-cancelling could be improved. Nonetheless, I would choose these headphones over Bose or Apple any day due to their superior sound quality, which was my top priority (by the way, I listen death metal and classic music). The battery life is exceptional; I haven't had to charge them more than once a week, even though I use them daily. They're incredibly comfortable, and the touch controls are a really neat feature. For the price, you won't find anything better than these headphones.

I had been waiting to get these for a while, and expected good things, and I was NOT disappointed! I love these headphones! The battery life lasted me through several days of moderate use. They didn’t hurt my ears or head despite extended use, and felt very light. I wore them in the airport and airplane - I had never though much of any active noise cancelling software before. But WOW. I didn’t realise how well these were working until I took them off. The ANC was great! My parents said my voice came through crystal clear even when I called them from the busy airport. But most importantly - the sound! I was comparing these to another pair of headphones my dad had gotten, in a range just below this, and the bass on these was so much better. Instead of loud and overpowering, it was fuller. Almost like comparing when someone who sounds intelligent speaks after someone who was just loud about their opinion. The professional quality just came through. It was… right. I wish the headphones had come with a power supply - if you get these you’ll want to make sure you have something that can charge USB-C.

These are my first audiophile headphones and they do not disappoint. They sound absolutely amazing for music, movies, and video games. The battery life and charging time is outstanding as well. The only two real issues I have (one being a major design flaw) with them is how long you have to hold the power button to turn them on and off (about 3-5 seconds) and the headband material. The material looks great, however, it is only tucked into the band on top of the rubber headrest, so within the first 1.5 years it started to come out and I had to carefully out it back in. Now just as of 2 days ago (06/08/2025) the back side of the material came out and I couldn’t get it back in so I had to rip it all off which ruins the simplistic beauty of the headset. This is not covered under warranty and is something that can simply be fixed with strong glue during the manufacturing process which could have kept this issue from occurring, and it will 100% happen to yours. Otherwise these are outstanding. Attached are photos of the headband material that came off.

This is my first Sennheiser product, i’ve heard remarkable quality and durability with these headphones specifically with some minor issues people have stated. But for me everything was perfect. I purchased these open box so they were cheaper than MSRP and I was skeptical at first but for having them for almost a month now, they work extremely well compared to my old earbuds. The ANC is incredible when I am walking in public or need to block out noise. I’ve only charged them once so far after constant use and the quality is just insane. I’d recommend these to anyone looking to upgrade from earbuds or cheap headphones.

Pros: Amazing sound quality! Great battery life. Good build quality. Comfortable cushioning even for those with large ears. cons: Sound personalization often reset to default in the app. I tried Sony XM4 and AirPods Max yet I liked this one better. Overall, for those who prefer music, Momentum 4 easily beats every other headphones around the same price.

Disappointed by noice cancellation. I bought these because I work from home and have two dogs and live by a busy street, so I really needed something with good noise cancellation. I’m wearing them now with the custom noise cancellation set to the absolute highest, with the volume just above the halfway point on my phone and I can hear my air filter behind me and can hear my dog chewing on his bone. It’s driving me crazy that I spent so much money, to only have irritating and distracting noises while I work. I have found that the only time I can’t hear anything while wearing them is when I have loud music turned almost all of the way up. It doesn’t feel like the device is actually have noise canceling… I just have to blast music. which isn’t ideal given that I need to be able to focus for work and would prefer to listen to classical piano at which point there’s no shot of noise cancellation working. I do still give them three stars because they are more comfortable than other headphones that I’ve worn. I also feel like they have a more customizable fit because of the way that you can slide it to adjust. I also feel like the battery is great, I rarely find myself recharging them. I like the color-very neutral.

The Momentum 4’s are pretty good the sound quality is good expected from sennheiser a little base heavy to my liking though, the “smart control plus app” is very complete with a 5 band EQ, battery is excellent with its 60hrs, build quality even though is all mostly plastic is a really thick and solid one (except the headband which is a really premium fabric) but thats also one of its main problems because they are too heavy for my liking and the clamping force is pretty agressive the headband makes to much pressure on my head and the cups to, the connectivity is solid except on windows PC's they have a weird static noise issue but is solvable with a regedit command related to the AAC codec besides that they're good just be aware of those things. I ended up returning them and bought a pair of bose qc ultra's because they are way lighter, comfortable as the name suggest and also to everyone's surprise less bass heavy with better instrument separation and better anc, ofc i had to sacrifice the 60hrs battery life, usb c audio and 5 band eq of the Sennheiser but for me sound quality and comfort goes first so it's worth the trade of features.

Was working perfectly, until it stopped. I am currently in the process of returning it to the company for a warranty repair. Bought it in May and it started faulting in around 2 months. Pairing button stopped working, and connecting the headphones became a very huge hassle. I had to find ways to forcefully turn it off such as connecting through the wire then removing it + connecting it to the charger then removing it. And I constantly had to remove device and re-connect it. OTherwise, sound quality is great, mic quality is great, they look great and are very comfortable headphones.

I bought these in December as an upgrade from my Momentum 2's. I loved those but really wanted transparency mode and also an upgrade to USB C. These have a soft headband that is a huge improvement from the hard leather band of the Momentum 2. The sound quality is pretty much on par with the old ones, but definitely better than the Sony XM4s and Bose offerings imo. The ANC is a little worse than the Bose but I care more about the sound anyway. The touch controls work decent but I definitely would have preferred physical buttons. The battery life is also incredibly impressive. I rarely have to charge them or worry about them being discharged.

The clearest and precise headphones I’ve ever used. Not to mention the battery life will outlast the next ice age! Lol but seriously everything about these headphones are top notch and I look forward to using them each day.

I love these headphones! They have amazing sound quality crystal and pure sonic and look very stylish. The noise-canceling feature works well, but not perfectly. They are comfortable and fit well, but they can get a bit warm after a while. The battery life is awesome . The charging speed is also average. Overall, I would recommend these headphones to anyone who wants a premium listening experience.
