Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 Earbuds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I received my Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 Earbuds a weeks ago and have been putting them through their paces. Inside the box comes a nice cloth-type case which holds both the left and right earbuds inside. The case also acts as a charging case for when you need to quickly recharge the earbuds. The case is charge via USB-C which is also included in the box. Silicon eartips are also included in the package. After charging up the earbuds, which took almost no time (5 minutes tops), I was ready to go. However, its recommended to download the companion Sennheiser Smart Control app from Apple's App Store or the Google Play Store; depending on your device. After downloading and connecting the earbuds to the app, it quickly informed me that there was firmware that needed to be update. To update the firmware the earbuds are NOT to be inside the case. I found this a bit strange as most other earbuds I've tested/owned require for them to be inside their charging case. After everything was connected I tested out a few tracks of music to listen to the sound quality. Music was clear, however, bass was lacking and I found the Smart Control app to be very lackluster in features. Very very basic. I tried tweaking as much as I possibly could but only found the music to be semi-decent at best. It also did not appear that the volume was that loud. Very clear but no oomph. When it came to calls, for me at least it was similar to listening to music. Not very loud but clear as a bell. I could hear others on the line clearly, however, they stated that I sounded a tab muffled. All in all I think these are a decent pair but I kind of expected a little more due to their price.

Shoddy connectivity issues
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Going on my third pair in less than 2 years, first pair lasted 6 months. Some of the issues have been: bluetooth connectivity issues, only ear-bud working. Cumbersome warranty process w/ Sennheiser. Sound quality is great when ear-buds work.

Best headphones I've owned in general
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Start by saying I've owned a few earbuds over the last few years. Jaybird freedom 2, x3, x4, solo2, and buds+, now these Momentum tw 2. I'm not really a hardcore audiophile but I appreciate a good sound to my headsets. Sound: These are definitely the best sounding buds I've had, but they should be at the price point. I took some time to compare them to the buds+ using the same setup and songs and these are by far a much richer, more full sound. That being said the sound stage could be a bit wider, but that's just a minor critique. I use my earbuds at work around loud machines and the volume is more capable than other set I've owned, especially the buds+. The bass isn't overwhelming, and while I listen to a lot of rap and edm, I've found myself boosting the treble for the increased clarity, which is definitely different than my previous sets. Out of the box the sound is neutral and even a little muddy, but after a few minutes with the eq (more on that later) you can find exactly what you're after. Clarity is the keyword with these buds. You can rattle your brain if you want, but I think that's missing the strengths of this set. Bottom line: it's going to be hard to go back to my other sets. I got 90 days of free tidal premium with my set and every song gives me goosebumps even days later. I can hear the amps humming in "2112" by Rush, and that's just amazing. Functionality/Features: The anc is noticable, with music off you can tell when it turns on. Any consistent droning or noises outside are noticably reduced. Mowing the lawn with music playing I could barely hear my electric mower. There isn't any pressure when anc kicks in, which is nice, and there isn't any noticable white noise. Passthrough heading is solid. With it on you can honestly forget you have the buds in. Sound levels are very natural. There is no option to boost it like the buds+, which would be handy in some situations but the clarity is impressive. Even with music on and volume at 1/3 you can hear natural which Is a feature I've been wanting for a few years. The customizable controls are handy, I can't believe this isn't a standard feature across the industry. I have noticed times when the app is not open the touch controls will stop my music, but won't restart it when pressed. This could be an earbud issue or a tidal issue, not quite sure yet. Regardless opening the app seemed to fix that. There is a one or two second delay on the touch controls but they have to make sure how many touches, so that's understandable. Finding the sweet spot can be a struggle sometimes but that will probably improve with time. Connection is pretty good, better than my jaybird x4. I did have a few points where the left earbud cut out when moving around or obstructing the phone in my pocket, but still far less than other headsets. The eartips get the job done, but I will be getting come comply tips for it. Foam is better in any situation for me personally. The fit is surprisingly good for me. After using the buds+ with wings and still noticing some fit issues I was concerned, but the tw2 fit great in my ears and stay solid, pretty comfortable for sustained listening sessions. So far the battery seems better than expected. I've only used them for a few hours max, but have dropped below 50% and that's using anc with full volume. App: This is the only mildly disappointing part of these buds, as many have already said. For such a premium set the fact you don't have full control over the eq is baffling. It uses an odd x/y eq, and while it is capable it leaves a bit to be desired when trying to fine tune. Hopefully they get the picture and update it to an actual eq. Coming from jaybird earbuds with their eq and profile sharing, this is one thing I really miss. I'd take off a half star for this, but not a full star, that's why the 5star rating. Summary: Clear crisp sound with features that should be industry standard. Premium build quality, good fit and function. App leaves a bit to be desired but should improve with time. If you're in the market and the price range fits you won't be disappointed. Still get goosebumps from these things. I waited over a month to receive my order, so it was going to be tough to live up to that, but somehow they do.

Not High End Audiophile Quality but Best in Class
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Short Review: 8.5/10 I've owned the Sony WF-1000XM3, Air Pod Pro, Galaxy Buds+, Galaxy Buds Live, and Bang and Olufsen Beoplay 3. None of the current options sound great to high end audiophile standards, and they aren't the most comfortable during extended periods of use. Out of each option, the Momentum 2's sound the best for the price. For what they are (Wireless Earphones), they perform surprisingly well. If you are reading this just buy them already. Especially if you are coming from the piece of S*** Galaxy Buds or Airpods. You'll thank me later. Pros: - Build Quality - Great battery life 4 to 5 hours at 75% volume - Quick bluetooth connectivity - Great EQ and app support - Superb phone call voice and microphone quality - ANC get's the job done - Transparent audio feature is best in class. I use this a lot - Modern aesthetic in a well packaged form factor - 30min charge time - Sound quality blows past current competition Cons: - Value (You are paying mostly for the tech and portability) - Charging case is bulky - Unless you get the perfect fit with the ear tips, these earphones will hurt your ears during extended use. - Not pairable to mobile DAC/AMPs - No Lossless/Master Quality support Audiophile Review: Let me start by saying if you are buying these expecting them to compete with mid tier IEM's or headphones in the same price point you will be disappointed. However, it should be mentioned these earphones were not intended to compete with the broader audiophile headphone market, but rather against the current wireless earphone market. Sennheiser simply wanted to make something that sounded better than the current offerings of competitors. That being said, I am convinced they achieved their goal. Default Sound Quality - 4/10 (7/10 using the EQ software) These things 100% need a burn in period of a couple days. The out of box default sound signature is so flat and sterile I almost returned them after first trying them out. That is until I discovered the Sennheiser EQ app which really brings these things to life. Soundstage is below average for its price point compared to wired IEM's. Being both narrow and focused, it allows for a more "intimate" feeling experience. Imaging and detail are among the best between all wireless earphones, but below average compared to wired IEM's. Bass is tight and punchy at low volume, and gets muddy at higher volumes. Mids are clean, and the highs are slightly muted. The only "better" alternative I could recommend would be the B&O Beoplay E8 3rd gen. Slightly warmer more full sound profile, better imaging, and incrementally better detail recognition because of lossless processing which the Momentum 2 does NOT support. Considering majority of people do not have access to master quality audio, it should not be a total deal breaker. To sum it up these earphones are the perfect work horse setup. All day battery, great phone call audio, looks good, feels premium, and sounds better than the rest. The others cannot compare so I won't even mention them here. Besides, what more can you really ask for at this price point?

So sad!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought these to replace a set of BOSE earbuds - what a mistake! Takes forever for them to connect to an incoming call. Also, very uncomfortable in the ear. Sent them back and replaced by a set of Apple second generation AirPods - you just simply CAN’T BEAT Apple products!!!

Nice Try Sennheiser
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the money one would hope that a company with the experience that Sennheiser possess would be at the top of their game. Unfortunately these earbuds are all show and no go. I purchased a pair of Jabra 85Ts and there was no comparison. Returned them.

Very Very impressive sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I gotta say the MOMENTUM True Wireless 2 earbuds are awesome. I enjoy the sound when watching movies and TV shows. Like being in a movie theatre. And the pause function when you remove the right earbud is sweet. I would have loved better bass when listening to music but not a deal-breaker at all. The app could use a bit more functionality, but EQ functions do work. The battery lasts all day which is a definite plus. Do yourself a favor and take these for a spin.

Disappointing
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Out of the box they were defective. The left ear keeping disconnecting and both ears kept losing clarity. Disappointing for an expensive pair of buds from a name synonymous with high-end audio.

Magnificent Earbud Headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Sennheiser - MOMENTUM True Wireless 2 Noise Cancelling Earbud Headphones are comfortable, sound amazing, and have an impressive battery life. They are incredibly easy to setup and connect to your favorite device. The noise cancelling feature is outstanding. Especially for situations where you want to block out ambient noise, like the gym. You can really enjoy the fullness of your music. They also sound great with movies. I look forward to using them when traveling. These are wonderful earbuds. I highly recommend them.
