Great sound, a bit on the bassy side but not much. It’s about as neutral as you’d want from a consumer set of headphones. The app is amazing. Let’s you set your own EQ and save them as well. Sound zones are great as you can automatically set the sound profile based on location. The headphones feel and look premium. I wear glasses and so far no issues with comfort. Battery life is amazing and the case is premium. Overall a great purchase.

These are probably some of the most comfortable headphones I've had. But I'd only recommend them for some specific use cases. They don't work great when plugging them into a PC. If you're running multiple audio applications at the same time (ie podcast/ music + game) the quality of the audio will be terrible. There also is sometimes a weird glitch where the noise canceling is turned off because the headphones for some reason think that you took them off. You have to kind of adjust the positioning over and over until the noise canceling stays on. There also is a weird glitch when using them for calls on my Mac, where they will randomly mute themselves when I'm in the middle of a sentence. Super frustrating to be having a conversation and then randomly hear "MUTE ON". Other than these issues, the sound quality and comfort is amazing. Battery life is also excellent. Great for travel and study but in other areas they're not great.

These headphones are excellent at canceling noise. I couldn’t even hear my husband speaking to me. I could tell he was talking, but I couldn’t make out what he was saying. So, if you’re looking for effective noise cancellation, these are the perfect choice for you! We found them a bit uncomfortable to wear, but they say they will mold to your head. We didn't keep them long enough for that to happen. They were too heavy for us. Also, our connectivity was odd.

The sound quality and battery life are outstanding on these headphones. They don't hurt your ears after hours of wear either. Phone calls are clear and so far no one has had issues hearing me. Overall a great set of headphones!

    SENN ME TO THE MOON!!!!!

As consumers were are usually all seeking contentment with our purchases. With that being said, below are my feelings comparing this to the Sony WH-1000XM5 (returned for SH M4). Though I want to preface by letting you know. I won't cover the phone apps on this review. Senn wins by default, as I kept the M4. So you will be in the ecosystem ready to go within 10 minutes. My usage is across my tv, pc and phone, within a 2 story middle apartment. Multi-connection is fantastic to boot. TLDR: Sony is flimsy feeling and corners were cut. No reason to upgrade over an XM4. Senn greets you with a big hug everyday. A long 60+ hour battery hug. Get lost in some audio, bump the BASS and pick up the PACE. Dolby Atmos does work well for those who care. Design/Build Quality/Sound/Case *Sony - A very bland and plastic look. Thin and shallow headband/earpads (recommend 3rd party earpads for Sony). So you might not have as much clamp force to spread out. Which for me as a even a bald person, becomes an issue within 15 minutes. As it feel the pad comfort start to fade and bottom out. So then you will feel the rim of the band and earcups. It was a major step back from the XM4. Feels more like a plastic pair of children's headphones. The earcups articulation is poor and limiting. Which further exacerbates the issue noted above. The better the articulation and balance/width of the headband. The wider array of customers you can appease. As for the sound and taking out their proprietary codecs and 360 software. They are an 8/10, less bass heavy. Even with EQ tweaks, they won't knock you off your butt. I prefer a lower and higher ceiling for kick. As well as less proprietary codecs/software. Which further limits you, looking at you as well Apple and Samsung! Apartment based ANC is a 9/10, as Bose is the 10/10 OG. Battery is poor for cost (under 30 hours), can't compete. Just a very basic case, nothing that stands out. If you are paying good money. I'd prefer something solid day 1. Not having the urge to spend more on a 3rd party. *Sennheiser - The headband is very solid feeling. The padding is mainly in the middle. It doesn't feel like much. But due to the wider band and placement of the pad focal point (center). It will give you a better balanced feeling weight wise. As the outer parts of band are solid. The earcups have the same pull/push non-notched adjustment as the Sony. Though because this has a wider headband. You shouldn't have to constantly adjust them every 15/20 minutes. Unlike some other brands, lacking a balanced weight resistance ratio. With that being said, they will get warm for some. Though I always advise people to "clear the air" every hour for a few minutes. As 90% of headphones I've used got warm overtime. That's why comfort is paramount. You can tolerate the warm feeling much easier. SH worked some magic yet again. BASSHEADS, a return to form. The EQ range is generous. Tweak away, and dance and game the night away. Or relax and watch something on TV. Multi-connection is more useful than I thought. Especially being able to keep your phone connected at all times. That way no matter what I'm doing. I can receive the phone call. Apartment ANC 8/10, Sony retains the edge. Though due to the stronger bass in the M4. The M4 can fill the gap with stronger overall bass. Dolby Atmos also pairs well with the headphones. The battery is where the dark magic hides. Rated at 60 hours per charge. Though in some cases, users have gotten over 60. That is more than enough to get you through a week. Less overall charge, will mean slower degradation of battery life. People still forget, we can't easily swap batteries in 90% (my estimation) of headphones. The case stands out, especially the blue. The color tones are complementary. Sure I don't mind a "sleeper pair" of headphones. Sometimes you just want to appreciate the visual aesthetic as much as the audio experience. Cheers, Authorian HiFi A/V Enjoyer

This is my most expensive purchase as a student and not even once I have regretted it. I bought it for $265 after taxes (about 7 months ago) and if you are in the market for the best sound then look no further. Yes the ANC might be better on the Sony XM5 but my usage is usually in a closed quiet room. The battery life is so superior. My usage is very heavy and I have to charge it twice a month almost. You might enter a state of trance while listening in these (more so if you are using Apple Music). I would buy these if had to buy it again. Also, I bought Senheisser Accentum to gift someone. If you can't afford these then I would say that the Accentum's are really good for the price. When compared, Momentum 4 has an overall better built quality, battery life, ANC (you can adjust the ANC level in momentum 4 but not in Accentum), a slightly better sound (15-20% at max). I have also tried Airpods max and was even happier that I got the Momentum 4s. Apart from spatial audio there was nothing special about airpods max (garbage when price is considered). I watched this particular youtube review which compared basically all the headphones(Bose, Sony, apple, Bowers & Wilkins and many more) in the market (do have a look, it's very comprehensive) - https://youtu.be/l5qootmFQx0?si=7BXezoG32-y00uWg Even he found the momentum 4s to be the best in terms of sound.

I initially purchased the Apple Air over the ear headphones and returned them because they were super heavy and i coumdnt turn them off without the case. I purchased the Sony xm4 and broke the plastic that holds the ear almost immediately. I purchaed ghe xm5 and they broke as well. I bought 3 more pairs of Sony because the sound was so good. Finally, i bought these and never looked back. Just get them. The sound quality, the build quality and the battery life are game changers

Great sound, canceling isnt perfect you can definitely hear outside noise, the only issue I have with them is the swiping on the right headphone; it is too sensitive at times and activating the noise canceling can become annoying when it thinks you are pausing the song instead.

Solid pair headphones, good build quality and comfort. ANC is a bit lacklustre but gets the job done for the most part. But sound quality more than makes up for it. Comparing it to Sony xm series or the AirPods maxes, the Momentum 4's really sound the most balanced and clear. Not to mention the 60 hour battery life is amazing, I barely need to charge the headphone most weeks

I have owned a set of Sennheiser Urbanite XL Wireless headphones for 5 years and have appreciated the sound quality of them, but the battery will no longer hold a charge and I've been unable to find a replacement of decent quality so decided to replace the Urbanites. I looked at several different models and brands, but came back to Sennheiser due to the sound quality. But, the caveat is that Sennheiser headphones are no longer actually made by Sennheiser, the consumer audio division is now owned and operated by Sonova as Swiss company known for hearing aids. That change in ownership is reflected in the construction quality of the Momentum 4 headphones, which is to say, they are basically plastic and do not feel they will last as long as the Urbanites (which still work, but only hold a charge for 10 to 20 minutes.) Charge however isn't a problem with the Momentum 4s, which I can use for about 40 hours before charging. Soundwise, if you use the Sennheiser app, then go the Equalizer and Select "Rock" and Bass Boost you will have a sound profile identical to the old Urbanites. The newer technology of Noise Cancellation makes a huge difference in listening pleasure. The touch controls are pretty much unchanged after 5 years. I'm glad they switched to USB-C as the connection instead of the old micro-USB and the continued inclusion of a jack for plugging in the headphones (the inclusion of an airplane adapter is nice too.)

My first pair of over ear Bluetooth headphones and I'm very happy with them. They are comfortable which is so important in headphones. Sound quality is very good. Very importantly, the noise canceling is excellent! The app makes all of this easily adjustable. The Bluetooth connection works very well. They connect quickly and the connection doesn't drop. Most amazing is the battery life. I have owned them for a while but have not needed to charge them yet. Highly recommended!

I was in the market for over the head earphones. I have been reading reviews and watching video comparison between the B&W PX7s, Sony XM5 and the Senheisser Momentum 4. Note that all 3 are well within the same price range. If you own a device that supports the LDAC codec, then it would be a no brainer to get the Sony. But seeing a review from Darko on youtube where he compared the M4 to the Bathys by Focal did it for me. Boy was I impressed with the sound of this thing. Neutral and not bass heavy. I like the design more by Sony but I don’t hate the Momentum 4s design either. Very comfortable in my head and had worn this in a 4 hour flight easy without feeling of discomfort on my ears. Battery life is impressive with 60hours, have’t tried it out though since I normally charge mine when it’s in the low side, and I don’t keep track of the usage either. Oh and I got these on sale for $299 which is a major plus.

Really like these headphones and for my purposes its next to perfect. The a few issues i have is that the pass through isnt as good as i expected, and connection to a pc isnt as seemless as i wanted. Though i suspect that is an issue with how my set up currently functions and not the fault of the head phones. Over all the comfort, audio quality, and controls make it a good set. Also no need to mention battery life as it lasts a week before i charge it anyways

    Best Sound for Music!!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Short Version - If you're an audiophile and mostly use for tunes and one device, stop reading and buy. You can't get a better sound for music! The Deep Dive - I guess in todays market everybody has to have "an app for that". Like when your favorite pizza place started offering french fries, just doesn't always work. I've used Sennheiser solely since the 70's. As mentioned you can't get a truer sound for music than with their products. And this product is no different. Check out Arianna Grande's "Break Free" and the 808's will tear your head off. Pure, crisp "in your head" with amazing low frequency sound! As far as build, quite sturdy and comfortable, wearing hours without an issue. Comes with a nice travel case. The ANC strong, I'd say about 95% background noise gone. But unfortunately rather than review the superior audio quality of this product, the software becomes an integral part of these cans, so here I go. First the connection to Bluetooth. Now I understand why they choose the RF transmitter for so many years. Turn on your device, put the headphones on, push a button, done. The good news, you can use these headphones with anything that has BT. So transportable over all those devices. However, only two devices can be set to "on" at any given time. So you must go to the phone software and switch when changing. Since the phone pretty much always has to be connected to use the software, you can only set one more devices as "on". So everytime you switch devices you must change the toggle switch or it won't connect. If you plan on just using with one device like your home theater and phone, this will not be an issue. I have found the initial pairing a bit troublesome, especially if you have no or little experience with pairing. The instructions don't explain it well. Especially getting the phone into pairing mode. Like all things tech, once you get it, it's easy. If like me, if you plan on walking it around the house, the reception is GREAT! Unlike the RF versions that faded quickly. Now if you likewise plan on using on the computer in one room and your bedroom TV for instance, switching is a bit tricky. Remember to toggle the devices on/off in your software when changing. And if listening to music on your computer and surfing on your phone, if you hit a video on your phone, it may jump off the tunes to the phone video. Shutting down or moving off the video usually takes you back. Took me a minute to figure that one out. Seems the phone takes precedent. Maybe for calls. Tried taking cell and streaming calls a few times and very clear reception and immediately switched to call. Switching back to the original device if using phone a bit troublesome though. You may have to reconnect to original device. And when going back to a previous device you may have to reconnect again or when its been offline and charging. So far no drops in connectivity with one device. Some have complained about static. I have only noticed when switching inputs on my TV, like from cable to streaming (all built ins). The initial audio picks up about 2-5 seconds of white noise and then it's fine. Some syncing issue, I guess. Very occasional audio drops on Spotify, but I think that's the music software. Back to the M4 software, some nice features. Gives you battery status. Speaking of the battery, went 5 days of about 12 hours a day use till it went almost dead - 10%. I have a Samsung S21 phone and that charging cable works to charge the headsets. Remember your USB cable from the TV will most likely NOT work if TV off. I was miffed by not being able to replace the batteries in this unit, so I guess when they go dead for good, need a new model. Odd, but I guess good for product churn. The software choices - the product connect portion is pretty self explanatory, on and off for each device you've paired. Next the equalizer. It's OK, not a really a big range, just have to tinker with it. I found the bass boost great for music, not so much for TV!! Again play with it to get your taste. Haven't really used the other features in the software, so nothing to report there. Bottomline, they sound great and portable, the software can be somewhat useful, but limited, and if you don't mind a bit of tinkering with the nuances described, these cans are the ones to get!!

These headphones have checked all of the boxes for my personal needs. The ANC works well and can be adjusted via the app. The sound quality is phenomenal for this price range. Build quality is very nice and the overall comfort is great. I have worn these for 4+ hours continuously on a few occasions without ear fatigue. Battery life has been phenomenal. I have 30+ hours of use with 25% charge left on the initial factory charge and I tend to have the volume turned all the way up. There isn’t anything negative that I can say about these headphones. These set the bar very high and I feel you will agree once you hear them for yourself.
