    Really Good

The sound quality is great, I listen to a lot of indie, punk, and metal. The ANC is pretty good, although you need to use the app to interact with that, and the app leaves a bit to be desired but is not horrible. Battery life is really good, I am a full-time college student and spend a lot of time with these on and have not dealt with them dying on me in the middle of the day. These are really comfortable. They're not heavy. They don't have an extremely tight hold that hurts my ears, but they also hold on tight enough to maintain a seal around my ears.

Incredible Sound and Comfort, With Minor Quirks

I’ve been using the Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4 Wireless for a few weeks, and I’m really impressed. The sound quality is incredible — crisp highs, clear mids, and rich bass that doesn’t feel overwhelming. I can tell a real difference compared to other wireless headphones I’ve tried. Battery life is amazing — I’ve gone multiple days without charging, and the 60-hour battery claim seems accurate. The headphones are also very comfortable; the earcups are soft, and I can wear them for hours without any discomfort. The adaptive noise canceling works well in most situations, like at home or in the office, but it’s not quite as strong in very loud environments. The touch controls take a little getting used to, and occasionally Bluetooth can hiccup, but these are minor issues compared to the overall experience. Call quality is decent, though not exceptional, and the headphones are a bit bulky for travel. Overall, I love these headphones. They deliver excellent sound, comfort, and battery life, and the noise-canceling features and app customization make them feel premium. I’d highly recommend them for music lovers or anyone who spends long hours listening to audio.

I bought these for dual purpose - Teams Meetings at work, and for music. The good... The sound is great, nice bass, crisp high and clear mids. The sound cancelling is fantasic. Very comfortable, I can wear them for an 8 hour shift with no problems...no pressure on the top of my head or ears getting all sweaty. Battery life if great - I know I can go the whole work week on one charge. Now the bad - and I think it's mainly due to the software. The touch controls - these can stop responding, I then need to essentilly reboot them to work again. The touch controls can get a bit flaky, for instance double touching them should turn noise cancelling on/off but they can get into a state where it tell me "mute off" or "must on" but in reality, it kills the audio so I can't hear anything. Reboot to correct. Connection will sometimes drop...maybe 1 or 2 times in a work day. Usually in this case the "press and hold" option on the touch pad will reconnect. This happens with work laptop and my cell phone so that leads me to think this is related to the head phones. The touch pad might be impacted by hair, or clothing...but I have no hair that would impact that and I usually wear colarless shirts at work so that is not an issue. Maybe it's caused by random head movements? Maybe someone can tell me if I can a defected set? If so, I'd appreciate it...thanks

The unit I received with my initial purchase of these headphones had issues. If your headphones sound like they are not working evenly between the ears and turning the ANC on affects 1 ear more than the other, you need to return your unit as this is a flaw and not a feature. I exchanged my faulty unit and received a properly working unit which has been operating properly since Fall 2022. My experience with my good unit has been enjoyable. I also own a pair of Sony WH-1000XM4's. While the Sony unit has better active noise canceling, the sound and fit of the Sennheiser Momentum 4's are far superior. Sony headphones have always had a narrow sound stage for me with a sound signature like I have a couple of tin cans strapped to my ears. If all you listen to are Sony headphones you'll never hear the difference, but when I put on my Sennhesier headphones, the level of comfort and clarity of sound was a drastic improvement. Music is much more enjoyable and I can wear these headphones for hours at a time without ear fatigue despite my massive dumbo ears. And the battery! I can use these headphones for almost a full week everyday for 8ish hours and still have charge left over. Whatever Sennhesier has done to accomplish this has set a new standard for what you should expect from a top level set of ANC headphones. Overall I would say they are a good set of headphones to own, and an even better deal if you're able to get them on sale. Look for a deal and it will be well worth your money.

Sennheiser Momentum 4 - An Excellent product!

The sound quality is Very Good to Excellent. There is sufficient Bass for most discerning audiophiles and in my opinion only the most extreme bass enthusiasts will require more. That being said, with the EQ that Sennheiser provides through their app... MOST people will be able to tune these to accommodate ALL of their listening preferences. They can be played loud enough to border on painful at full volume... but there's really (IMHO) no good reason to have to push ANY Quality headphones to their maximum limit. Bluetooth works extremely well and can be connected to multiple devices at once. When my phone rings it stops playing audio from my TV/PC, and with a tap on the right ear, allows me to take calls without futzing with them. The color is a deep dark blue which I find quite appealing, and the tan color of the cushioned areas goes very well with it. The texture of the headband pad is slightly different (a bit thicker/smoother) from the ear cups, but both are very comfortable. The outermost ends of the headband are NOT padded, however you would have to have a very large head to run into issues with that. My head is quite big and since the headphones are very malleable when putting them over your ears AND they adjust quite a bit, I have no complaints with the fitment at all. NOTE: I do have smaller ears than some, but there is a good 1/2 in of space around my ears, so these should actually work as Over The Ear Headphones and not borderline On The Ear Headphones for most people. The ear cups being made of a softer more 'breathable' material then the headband means I can wear them for hours without any discernible discomfort. While the headband is made of slightly different material it is still quite comfortable and should hold up to slightly more wear and tear (think bald guy) then the ear cups over time. The ear cups are replaceable however I cannot find any replacement headbands as of the writing of this review. I hope this helps.

In-depth review because I like them

    Posted .

Sound quality: Some reviews mention that volume isn't loud enough, I'm not sure why. I wear earplugs under these because I have an extremely noisy roommate who snores & I don't even have to turn them up all the way to get it loud. I found the voice annoying, but most of the prompts can be disabled with the app. I don't have anything else to compare the ANC to, but I like it. I'm a hobbyist transcriber and these really pick up all the background details in music. Connectivity: No connectivity issues, although sometimes the audio rips when connected to either two devices at once or a non-Apple device, but this has always fixed with turning off/on. If you have issues beyond this, there's a known fix for Windows 11 online. Mic: The mic is actually really sensitive, so way better than past headphone experiences. I highly suggest testing & tweaking before a call with friends because I could hear every breath I took, every click of my mouse, & some sounds from outside my room. Audio switches to mono when using mic and audio. If you use the cable to plug into a laptop, the audio quality will increase but the mic will decrease, so you have options. This is a non-issue for me as all headphone users should expect to get a separate mic for content creation or otherwise. Other: The headphones themselves are extremely comfortable. I wear them all day & only take them off because I'm a side sleeper. No issues with touch controls, they're sensitive and will respond if you bump them by shrugging your shoulder. The denim color is a charming dark option if you want something other than black. I also got these on a Christmas sale for $199, so these are especially worth it for me. My next phone will be non-Apple, so I will leave another review if I experience any compatibility issues.

Phenomenal sounded experience! I recently purchased a pair of headphones from Best Buy, and I must say, I'm absolutely blown away by the quality of the music they deliver. These headphones have elevated my listening experience to a whole new level. The first thing that struck me was the clarity and precision of the sound. Every note, every instrument, and every lyric is rendered with astonishing detail. It's like I'm hearing my favorite songs for the first time. The bass is deep and thumping, while the highs are crisp and sparkling, creating a perfect balance that allows you to feel the music in its full glory. Comfort is also a top priority for me, and these headphones don't disappoint. They fit snugly over my ears, providing both exceptional sound isolation and a comfortable feel during extended listening sessions. The padding on the earcups and headband is soft and plush, ensuring that I can wear them for hours without any discomfort. Connectivity is seamless, thanks to the latest Bluetooth technology, and the battery life is impressive, giving me days of use on a single charge. The convenience of touch controls on the earcups makes it easy to adjust the volume, skip tracks, or take calls without reaching for my device. Overall, these headphones are an audiophile's dream come true. The music quality is unparalleled, the comfort is exceptional, and the features make them a top choice for any music lover. I couldn't be happier with my purchase from Best Buy. If you're looking for a transformative music experience, these headphones are worth every penny!

    New Firmware, SOLID Headohones!

I did quite a bit of research prior to purchasing these. I was really torn between the Sony XM4, XM5 and these. Coming from the original Sennheiser Momentum’s, I knew sound quality was going to be top tier, and I was absolutely not disappointed at all! The bass is the perfect amount of fill and it is so buttery smooth. The kids and highs are extremely crisp and not overpowering. The noise cancellation is pretty decent in my opinion. I tried the XM5s on and it does seem a bit better, but I was going for the sound quality over anything else. These headphones are extremely comfortable, I could wear them for hours on end without any discomfort at all. The battery life is unbelievable! Can’t say how many hours I have used them so far, but I have only charged them once, and I know I charged them pretty early (40-50%). There was some concern when I bought these as there were loads of reviews about buggy issues with the headphones, not turning off in the case, touch controls being buggy, etc… there was a firmware update a few weeks prior to me purchasing them, so not a lot of info regarding the fixes, but I can without a doubt say that this firmware update fixes any prior issue. I have had zero issues with connectivity, swapping between my PC and phone, turning on or off unexpectedly, etc. I would highly recommend these to anyone! Build quality is great and I have zero issues or concerns with the longevity of the build quality, everything is firm and solidly put together.

I recently picked up the Sennheiser Momentum 4s from Best Buy, and I couldn’t be happier with them. The sound quality is excellent. Everything comes through clear, detailed, and well-balanced. Whether I’m listening to music or taking a call the audio sounds great every time. The noise cancellation is really impressive. It blocks out background noise without feeling uncomfortable or overdone, which makes a big difference when I'm working or trying to relax. Even though I didn’t get to try them on before buying, I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable they are. The ear cups are soft and breathable, and I’ve been able to wear them for hours without any issues. The battery life is also a huge plus. I’ve gone several days on a single charge without needing to plug them in. The purchase experience at Best Buy was simple and smooth. The headphones were in stock, and I was able to get in and out quickly. If you're thinking about upgrading your headphones, I definitely recommend giving these a shot. They're worth it.

Great audio. Great battery. Very comfortable. Touch controls a little tricky to learn and very sensitive. Volume could be a little louder. They are very smart at knowing when they are off the ear, but stay connected way to long when taken off. Also loses connection more than I’d like to see.

Love these! I’m coming from the AirPods Max which are arguably the top of the leave for sound quality and ease of use, so I wasn’t sure what to expect from these. They are just as seamless to use as the AirPods, and they sound fantastic very lightweight, great for long wear. The noise cancellation is just a bit below AirPods but work great in almost every case you will actually use it for. Transparency mode does sound a little bit like you’re under a pillow, a little muffled. So, not great for having conversations through, but works great for just hearing your ambient surroundings. Love these, no regrets. Also battery life is the best I’ve ever experienced, 10/10 **Audio Jack note: these plug into a standard headphone jack, but the end that plugs into the headphones themselves is a smaller size. Just keep that in mind if you are using them as monitor headphones so you don’t end up with unusable audio cords.

Best Current Gen Noise Cancelling Headphones

For some reference, I use the Sennheiser HD660S's at home as my daily drivers. I wanted something that could get 80% of the way there for a trip I have coming up. I often use them for games, movies, anime, and music (all kinds of genres). I will be comparing these to the Sony XM4, which I bought before these. I initially bought the Sony XM4's based on reviews I saw online on YouTube and Reddit. Wow, were they wrong. The first things you'll notice when getting the Sonys is that they feel SO cheap. It feels like a set that would be handed out for free at an airport. What's even worse is the sound, the Sony headphones sound like absolute garbage. Almost muffled. They focus on bass and they really make sure that bass ruins everything else. It should have been a red flag when people online said to download a paid 3rd party app to fix the EQ on the Sony headphones. I only still went with them because both the Momentum and Sonys are scored similarly on Rtings with Sony winning on noise cancelling. Anyways, thats what made me try these... Not only are these substantially cheaper and higher quality feelings and looking... but... it even sounds FAR better. These aren't HD660S's but they do get 70-80% of the way there. These will serve those who prefer analytical listening much better than the competition. vocals and strings are clear, but bass is still heavy hitting. I do swap between 2 EQs while using these. 1 for movies and heavy music (just flat everything) and 1 for light music which has reduced bass. The superior audio, cheaper price, higher quality build, AND DOUBLE THE BATTERY LIFE (60 hours) makes these the obvious purchase. There are a couple of downsides though Cons: - Not as comfortable as the XM4. I am pretty sure I can even feel my ear hitting the wall where the driver is, which is my biggest complaint and why I made this a 4 star review. I wish these had deeper pads on them. They are still comfortable enough to where I have fallen asleep with them on. - The noise cancelling isn't *as* good as Sony's. With no audio playing, it's like 15% worse than the Sony XM4, however with music playing, its more like 5%. Even with the worse sound cancelling, its still quite good, it's unlikely youll hear too much while listening. Pros: - USBC connection can transfer audio AND CHARGE (the Sony's don't let you listen and charge for some reason) - Clear Audio w/o compromising on bass - 60 Hour Battery life - Decent App, better than Sony - Reasonable pricing ($279.99) - Premium build quality comparing to competitors To me, it's clear Sony is a technology company who is selling headphones based on their superior noise cancelling technology and they don't care about sound audio. Sennheiser compromised a little on noise cancelling but delivered on what they do best, audio. Side Note: If you don't need the noise cancelling aspects, I would recommend looking into a wired solution. Trust me, it will get you the best sound and best value.

I absolutely love these! I have last years Momentum 3s and the Apple AirPods Max, and several other good headphones (focal elex, noir black, 6XX, just for a few comparisons), and these are what I now carry in my gear bag. I was worried about touch controls, but these are spot on every time. Perfectly quick accurate and intuitive. They are light and really comfortable (I wear glasses and no impact or pressure on the stems while keeping a good seal). Battery rated at 60 hours. I think anything over 12 is good enough, who listens to headphones for that long straight that they can’t plug in for a quick charge. Anyhow, 60 is crazy long, especially as they are super light, so the batteries must be made out of magic or something… lol. These also have good noise cancelling. I don’t use that feature much or heavily, but made an effort to drive home wearing these with all 4 windows of my car down. Except for the big semi trucks, it was clear music only, even on the Highway. So pretty real world impressive. But headphones are about music, and these are amazing. Truly amazing. Sennheiser has always had high quality sounding gear, but these can only be described as special. I love how these deliver bass big and bold but don’t drown out other parts of the music. Super clear sound all around. Speaking of all around, these have great spatial placement and a perfect sound stage. I can’t say enough how impressed I am with these headphones. I wish they got just a little louder, they have the extra room to blast, but I’m sure that’s to protect our eardrums. I can easily say these are my favorite pair, and think their build, comfort, and amazing sound quality is easily worth their price tag.

I read that these headphones really start to work well once you update them to the latest firmware. I'm happy to report that once I did that, they are easily the best ANC headphones I've ever purchased. The inbuilt mic is not great (not that I bought them for that), but I want to set that expectation. Otherwise, they are lightweight, comfortable, and handle spacial audio incredibly well. Pair them with a Bluetooth aptX receiver like the Sennheiser BT 600, and let me tell you, it's a real treat. These are my daily driver headphones for work and I've even used them via usb-c to usb-c to play games on them, and they are quite good for that (when paired with spacial audio). USB-C connectivity is also a big thing....for both charging but also direct connections, which they support out of the box. Battery life really is quite impressive...advertised 40 hours...I've used them all day and only burned half the battery, so I feel that matches with the advertising. Very pleased with my purchase. Huge upgrade from previous Sennheiser and Bose ANC headphones.

The Momentum 4 Wireless headphones provide outstanding sound quality, featuring rich detail and a well-balanced profile that enhances every genre. The adaptive noise cancellation performs well, although it does not quite match the capabilities of Bose or Sony’s premium models. The true highlight of these headphones is their battery life—a remarkable 60 hours on a single charge, making them an excellent choice for extended listening periods. Comfort is commendable, with soft earcups and a lightweight build, although the design appears somewhat more conventional compared to earlier Momentum models. Connectivity is effortless, with aptX Adaptive support guaranteeing high-quality wireless audio playback. In summary, the Momentum 4 is an excellent choice for individuals who prioritize sound quality and battery longevity, even if the design lacks a touch of uniqueness. Please inform me if you require any adjustments!

These headphones are awesome! I’ve had em for about 6 months and have charged them maybe 4 times. After trying the Sony XM5 and Bose QuiteComfort, I decided battery live was more important than noise cancellation, which isn’t the best out of the three. In terms of sound, these just blew me away. Bose were also pretty great at that. Sony’s noise cancellation was killer, but it was too much for me to handle, I guess. These aren’t the loudest. I can always turn it up but I’m used to listening at 55% on my AirPods. With the Momentum, I have to bump it up to 65-70% to get a similar output. This, after turning off the Dolby Atmos setting, per recommendation. Sometimes when I put the set back on after taking a break the music won’t continue, as it’s supposed to. It’s inconsistent in that way. I’m happy with my purchase, incredibly clear listening experience, great battery life and comfortable.

These are by far the best headphones I’ve ever had, unbelievable battery life, really good sound and good adjustments in the equalizer. and are also super comfortable and fairly light, the only thing i don’t find PERFECT is that they are not very tight on your head, not loose enough to just fall off by any normal means but can be annoying in the gym.
