Good sound and reasonably comfortable to wear. Nice to have base adjustments from the phones

As I have gotten older I sense the hearing is starting to fade more than I like. I still hear quality sound, and my pitch is as precise as ever, but I don't hear volume as much, AND I HATE BACKGROUND NOISE. I like to have good sound when I listen to TV and Music so I often turn the TV up too loud for my wife and daughter. A few years ago I made the purchase of a set of Sennheiser RS-185 headphones for our bedroom. They are nothing short of amazing, but they were also a bit pricey at $400. I had gift cards that paid for over half so I got what was the best they sold at that time. This week I bought a pair of Sennheiser RS-175 headphones for the living room. At night I play the TV loud enough for it to bother my daughter in her room (with the door closed). I didn't want to spend $400 but I still wanted Sennheiser quality. The headphones allow me to mute the TV and listen through the headphones so only I hear the TV. It also allows me to play the TV louder than my wife and daughter if we are listening to a music program. The RS-175 are not quite as comfortable as the RS-185 because they use leather like ear pads whereas the RS-185 uses a softer, super comfortable, velvety soft cloth ear pad. They are both still more comfortable than most earphones and the RS-175 block more of the outside noise in my opinion. The sound quality for both have a 17Hz - 22kHz frequency response and both are good for the room you are in plus some extra distance. It does not work real well if you like to listen as you walk around the house because you lose the signal. It may work in a smaller home or an apartment/condo. I would rate the sound quality for both to be excellent in every range. The RS-175 has a bass boost which you can control, and a surround sound vs stereo option. For listening to country or jazz I like a small amount of bass boost. For classical I like to turn it off. With these you have that option! The 175 is about $150 cheaper than the 185 and the sound is 98% as good if not equal. For those of you who are real musicians and have found you need the help of headphones to fully enjoy music programs on TV, or TV set at low volumes, the Sennheiser Headphones are far superior to the Sony's I had before. The Sony's were much less expensive but they were less comfortable and the sound was far inferior to the Sennheiser 175 or 185. So if you don't want to disturb your family, but you want to enjoy TV and music with great digital sound the either Sennheiser is a fabulous option!

These are outstanding headphones. They have excellent reach and they sound incredible. We are very pleased with these and would highly recommend them to anyone looking at wireless headphones.

Older ones work better, I could walk farther away from the tv with my hdr110 and hdr 120. Can walk around the house, cellar and garage. RS 175 works great if you hang around the tv room.

These headphones are great for watching TV without irritating your spouse. The sound from the TV is very faithfully reproduced, with little transmission of sound either in or out. Love them!

Perfect set for listening to TV and movie's late night,very easy to hook up and they sound great. headset could be a little looser but it's probable my big head.

These are great headphones. Had a minor problem with then cutting out when farther away from base station. I would recommend these. Great for hearing low voices in Movies and TV Shows.

I bought these for my husband that likes to turn the TV volume up too loud for the rest of us. Now everyone wants a pair because the sound is amazing on them!

I have had sony headsets in the past but the Sennheiser headsets are the absolute best that I have bought todate. Easy to set upo and have wonderful sound.

Easy to set up and use . Excellent quality. My 90 year old father in law who is hard of hearing can listen to the news (as loud as he wants) without annoying his wife!

The sound is terrific. The headset is difficult to adjust comfortably to my head and feels hot after wearing for a short period of time. It is great that it accepts an optical input.

The features and the sound are great. Very comfortable over the ear. But it does have the tendency to skip into and out of the signal. Interference with other household frequencies? I can't tell!

I have no complaints about this product. Easy to hook up sounds wonderful. Actually, they sound so nice I prefer to watch TV with these on! My only negative comment is the cost.

Good quality earphones for hearing the television. Nowadays it's hard for me to hear dialog without blasting the volume. These solve the problem nicely.

Bought them for my disabled 85 yr old Dad. He is very hard of hearing. This head phone system is great! No distortion, he can use them from every room in the house.

Second pair of Sennheiser over-the-ear headphones we have bought. Husband uses them daily to watch TV and has commented that they block out background noise really well.

Have had many wireless headset previously, but this one is a keeper. Sound quality and control and operation of this unit is perfect. Definitely would buy it again.

The Sennheiser RS 175 headset is outstanding in every aspect. The ease of use is wonderful! The sound is the best. Extremely satisfied and happy with this purchase.

Great sound , easy set-up. The buttons on the headset are a little difficult but overall a very good product and I have owned serval wireless headphones over the years .

Excellent sound quality. Their sound continues to improve as they break in. Wireless range is less than advertised, but the fidelity and superb build quality more than make up for it.
