Is totally amazing. My husband loves them wears them around the house and everywhere to listen to a movie when he’s not sitting in front of the TV. We now have a pair for every TV set.

I bought these to replace my Rocketfish RF-WHP01 headphones that finally quit after 12 years. Set up was simple I just plugged them into the headphone jack on my tv. I am amazed by the quality of the sound. All the tv channels sound good but programs broadcast in 5.1ch which you find on CBS, ABC, FOX, NBC and the CW will let you hear sounds that you have never heard before. I find that listening with the bass boost on and the surround set to low gives the best result. If you want to be immersed in the audio of your programs these headphones will get you there! The only downside I found was they seemed a bit tight at first, but after wearing them for a while they have loosened up and are much more comfortable.

These are great sounding headphones. They do a very good job of canceling ambient noise due to the ear cushions. I compared these to Sony WH-L600 and I felt the Sennheiser HS 175s sounded better. The HS 175 have simulated Surround Sound which sounds fine to me. The Sony's have true 5.1 but they didn't sound nearly as good. Two things I like about the Sennheiser phones is they use two AAA NiMH batteries that are easily changed if needed. Also OEM replacement ear cushions and headband cushions are readily available from Sennheiser and other retailers. I am very happy with my purchase and highly recommend the HS 175 headphones to anyone looking for true to life sound.

TOP NOTCH! Why are gamers not using these more often? Audio quality is excellent. Wireless 24 bit 196kz! Seriously! Great battery life, and pros for having the ability to change batteries out whenever you need. Comfy and easy to use. No brainer. I game with these, work audio master with them, everything sounds great and accurate! And the range on the headphones is insane. Crazy Insane. Cons? 1. Charging takes a while. DEF CHARGE TO FULL first time! I know you want to try but it does take 16 hours lol. 2. I had one time it was cutting out. They change RF channels everytime they shut down. So if it cuts out? Shut it down and turn it on.

These headphones performed as advertised. They were easy to set up with analog and optical connections. Unfortunantly my pre-amp did not have the capability of using these connections, so I used the third possibility of plugging the system into the headphone jack. My only warning about optical is that you must be able to change the setting on your optical out to PCM stereo. They will not work if left in digital surround. However the manual does state that fact. I wear hearing aids and these are perfect for me fitting over the entire ear very comfortably. Easy to operate the volume and surround functions after just a few minutes of acclimation to the unit. Great buy for me.

These headphones blow me away. I watch almost all my tv shows, games, and movies with headphones on. Keeps me in my own world and I don't have to worry about the sound bothering someone......my wife. :) The build seems a little flimsy for the price and they are not the most comfortable, though not uncomfortable. My only real gripe is the small power button in the back. It's difficult to press for two seconds at times. All of these are minor. Overall I love the headset. Easy to hook up. Easy to use. And did I say they sound amazing? Clear, deep, and immersive. Best sounding headset I've bought. If sound is important to you, it's worth the higher price tag.

    Fragile RS175 Sennheiser Earphones

    Posted .

Great phones terrific sound. They're reliable and have a long run time. BUT the ear pads are way to fragile. The 3 retaining tabs that secure the pads to the earphone are plastic and break very easily. What's even worse, although Sennheiser claims to sell replacement pads it's impossible to get them!! No one carries them and the international site really can't take an order even though they appear to accept an order. Added to all the above, I bought two (2) of these so I'm really in a "fix". I guess I'll tape the pads on and when friends ask about that I'll relate the reason. It's really too bad as these could be really outstanding earphones. I guess the vaunted German quality is not all it's thought to be.

I've previously owned Sennheiser headphones, so, the quality behind the name is nothing new to me. But, in case anyone has any doubt, let me say that the model HDR-175 is an excellent piece of equipment for the true audiophile. It has an option for deep rich bass as well as a surround mode option. It also has an option for PCM or standard Hi-Fi Dolby stereo. Furthermore, the unit's low cost is off set by its quality. The one and only minor complaint that I have is that they're slightly heavy, but, it's only a matter of getting used to for the listener.

The Sennheiser RS 175 RF headphones are sturdy and deliver good quality sound. I have tried the Sony brand and Best Buy Insigna brands and they do not last more than I year. I use them every day for my home theater as I live with others and the quality of them are inferior to Sennheiser.

The only problem I encountered with this item was the optical cable that came with it didn't work with my Sharp television optical cable audio output socket. It plugged in just fine but not audio signal was emitted. Maybe this problem was simply with my tv and not the supplied cable or the headphone base set. In any case, I had to order an analog audio splitter with a pair of RCA plugs. I attached this splitter to the alternate, supplied cable and it worked just fine. I really like the headphones. Good fidelity and volume. I have a similar set up with a pair of SONY wireless headphones attached to a SAMSUNG flat screen in my vacation home. I can't tell any difference between the two systems and they cost about the same.

Although a little on the pricey side, I think it's a good set. It did take me a couple of days to figure it out, but once I did it works great. Hopefully it will last longer than my old TV headset, which only lasted a couple of years before one ear piece was not working as well anymore. I can't really comment on the battery life, since I only use it for a couple of hours at night.

Buy it when it's $199.99 or cheaper. It's well worth the wait, which is what exactly I did. I haven't tried the 195 and I don't think I'll get that model any time soon either. As someone who has a very small bedroom and can't have a full surround sound system setup, this headset is the perfect alternative and extremely pleasant when watching movies. Only downside is that I can't comfortably wear them with my glasses after a long period of time. I always find myself fixating my glasses till it's comfortable to wear. It comes off as irritating at times but this headset is still superior its own ways.
