My wife and I struggled with finding a good nights sleep on our previous mattresses. We have had several different types of beds over the years, ranging from temperpedic, spring, etc. each one would last us a few years before we began to not sleep well over the nights. We were curious to a bed-put-of-a-box from all places, Best Buy. Since it was a Serta brand, we wanted to try it out. And we were so thankful that we did. We have been sleeping on this mattress for about 3 weeks now and we have been experiencing the best sleep since. Overall, we were surprised at the small box that it arrived in. We had ordered a Queen sized bed for our room and opened the box and found the mattress and a provided cutter. Unfortunately, the included cutter could not cut through the wrap because it was so dull. Finally getting it opened, the mattress unfurled rather quickly. The instructions indicate to allow 24-48 hours before it fully inflated, but can be slept on immediately. For a 9-inch mattress, it is shorter than our previous one. Fully inflated, we noticed right away that there is equal pressure on all areas of the mattress due to the memory foam. I can sleep towards the edge of the mattress, one side, middle, and it’s the same amount of pressure. My wife is been experiencing back, shoulder and neck pains which required her to be seen by an acupuncturist. Now, her joints and muscles have found a nice amount of pressure and support, allowing for less joint pain for her. What is a big seller for this Memory Foam mattress has been how well it has kept us cool throughout the night. I am someone who emits a lot of body heat. Thankfully, this mattress absorbs my body heat really well, allows good airflow and has kept both of us cool throughout the past 3 weeks. I am curious how this would be during the summer time where it can average high to mid 90’s here in northern Los Angeles. Overall, this has been the best mattress that we have ever slept on. Really hand it to Serta for continuing to be a trusted name brand.

Choice: I had a fairly firm mattress in my guest room for many years. People who stayed over politely suggested that I consider getting a new mattress or even a mattress topper. The Serta Sheepless Night 9” Mattress-in-a-box was a reasonably-priced solution to the situation. I choose the 9” so I wouldn’t have a problem getting the sheets to fit. Since people complain if the mattress is too firm or too soft, I compromised and went for “medium” versus anything firmer. Delivery: The box that was delivered was about 30+ pounds and cautioned that it be lifted by a team of people I was able to get it up the stairs with the help of a friend. The box had strategically placed holes so you could pick it up more easily with your hands. What an innovative idea! Unboxing and unrolling: There was a set of directions that offered Getting Started directions to “unpack and unroll” the mattress so you could unwind on it later that night. Printed on it was the product registration information. As my mattress was wrapped in brown paper and plastic, I was instructed to use the enclosed opening tool. I didn’t find that too effective, so I alternated using it and a pair of scissors. I wouldn’t recommend that you use scissors as you can accidentally damage your mattress. I was able to unbox and set up the mattress by myself and I am not a spring chicken! There was minor off gassing, but it wasn’t that obvious if you weren’t smelling the mattress directly. With the sheets on, it was no longer noticeable. The mattress regained its natural form quickly and I was able to test it out that afternoon. The gel memory foam stayed fairly cool and it was a good density for me as a stomach sleeper. I feel confident that my guests will like it and my pocketbook was ecstatic. Cheap and comfy mattress, comes in a box right to your door and is me and the wifes everyday sleeper. Love it!

Took a shot in the dark ordering this online but was too busy to go in store shopping for a mattress anywhere. This mattress is exactly what I was looking for and met my expectations. It is comfortable and was easy to receive, lay out, and start using.

This is my second memory foam mattress, replacing an ultra-plush one I'd been using for close to a decade. Getting a CPAP for sleep apnea forced me to adjust my sleeping posture though, and I'd come to realize that I needed better support to avoid back & neck pain in the mornings. This was a bit thinner than the one I was used to, but I knew Serta's reputation and figured that having the firmer foam probably meant I wouldn't need a full ten inches. And, after sleeping on it for a few weeks, I'm quite pleased with the decision! The mattress ships in a vacuum sealed bag that compresses the whole thing down to about the size of two large sleeping bags set next to one another, and is wrapped with tons of plastic. A tool is included to help you cut through it without damaging the mattress in the process, and while it helped I'll admit it was still a pretty large production getting it all unwrapped. Regardless with a bit of wrangling I was able to get it out of the box and unrolled on my bedframe in a little less than half an hour. The foam began expanding pretty quick after that and after about six hours it had reached a point where I felt comfortable sleeping on it. Buyers should note though that there is a lengthy recovery period after it comes out of the box. It was definitely a lot firmer than I was looking for for the first two nights, and the corners didn't fully uncurl until a full day had passed. The chemical smell you always get with new foam took a little longer to dissipate, unfortunately, but I found it to be at least tolerable. Once it had fully expanded and I'd had some time to get used to it, I found it to be a significant improvement over my older mattress. The cooling gel layer makes a HUGE difference. Previously I'd often kicked off my comforter in the middle of the night because I'd start sweating from all the stored heat. Since making the switch, I haven't had that issue at all. Support is also pretty good for side sleeping. The top gel layer has a fair bit of give, but after sinking in a few inches you hit the firmer foam layer beneath which does a great job of holding your hips and shoulders in place throughout the night without making it feel like you've been packed for shipping. Most nights I'm out in ten minutes or less after turning out the lights, and I'm rarely waking up in a different position than I had when I went to bed. My partner has noticed the difference as well - she hasn't been woken up by sudden bouts of snoring once since making the switch! Obviously it's hard to predict what someone else's experience with a mattress is going to be, given how much variety there is in sleeping styles and requirements, but if if any of this sounds familiar to you I'd definitely recommend giving this one a try.

The Serta Sheepless Night gel memory foam mattress is a great mattress that comes to your house tightly wrapped making it easy to transport and easy to get into your room for setup. There are several options for firmness and I went with the medium-firm version of this mattress and it has been great. It is a light mattress that is easy to move around and still manages to be firm even though it is slightly smaller than a traditional mattress. I'm not sure what the actual dimensions are but it is definitely thinner than my previous queen size mattress, but since this is a gel memory foam mattress it is much more comfortable without any springs to dig into you while sleeping. Overall, this is a great mattress with really no downsides that I can think of and is a great replacement for "traditional" mattress'.

The box is certainly heavy when it arrives so be careful pulling it in the house. They provide a tool to get through the plastic without accidentally damaging the mattress which is a nice touch. It is soft and comfortable. I had a temperpedic previously and this was a nice replacement.

Gone are the days of waiting for a delivery truck to deliver you mattress with a "delivery window" of 8 hrs. Honestly I did not have high expectations for a Serta Gel Memory foam mattress in a box especially since I was getting it form Bestbuy. When the mattress was first delivered I thought I was sent a twin mattress rather than a queen because I did not think you could fit a queen mattress in a box that size. The box is 32 lbs so it is recommended to get someone to help you lift the box especially if you are going up a staircase. As you open the box the mattress is packaged in plastic which is covered with a thick paper. There is a little opener included in the bottom of the box to help you slice open the plastic however it is not to sharp so you may better off using a pair of scissors. Once you get the plastic open and allow the mattress to unravel it takes it shape within a few minutes however it may take a few days to fully expand. Serta does say that you may sleep on it the same night however I feel like you maybe better suited waiting a few days. The 9 inch memory foam gave me great support form edge to edge and it felt very cool throughout the night. I normally sleep on my back and my wife is a side sleeper and we both found that the mattress provided great support for both of us. Serta provides a 10 year warranty for the mattress and I plan to put my current mattress in my guest room and sleep on this one every night. I am considering replacing some of my other mattress with this one and I'm sure that kids wont be complaining. If you are in need of a new mattress then I would not hesitate in recommending this Serta Sheepless night medium gel memory foam mattress.

This review is for the twin size. The packaging is convenient. The box is not too heavy and is small enough to easily move up and down stairs, and the box has handles that make it a lot easier to move. It reached full size very quickly, and was not too difficult to unwrap. There was an envelope opener included in the box that was supposedly useful in the unwrapping process. However, it was close to useless. I recommend just using a regular sharp utility knife to remove the packaging, and be extremely careful not to cut the mattress itself. The only real issue is that a LOT of packaging was used to keep the mattress compressed, so there is much more paper and plastic waste than you would expect. Even after removing a couple of layers of plastic, the mattress was still very well compressed, so it would appear that they could use a little less packaging material and still be fine. Once it was unwrapped and allowed to puff up, it was wonderful. I often have trouble with memory foam type materials since I hate the feeling of sinking in too much, so I need mattresses to be very firm. This mattress was perfect. It is soft enough that my arms don’t go numb when they are pinned under my body, but I don’t feel like I can’t move. It has a much more consistent feel than a mattress made with springs.

This mattress is extremely comfortable. It was a replacement for my son, and he loves it and is sleeping so soundly it's harder to get him up for school. I almost fell asleep when I laid down just to try it. It comes in a box, as the name says. It's very tightly shrink wrapped and was barely a few inches once I got it out. I left it to regain it's shape and I'd say it was about 2 hours the next time that I walked by the room. It had already gotten back to size. I would recommend it to anyone.

I'd been thinking of getting a memory foam mattress for several years now, only the prices I've seen from the leading brands have been astronomical and I'd been putting it off. When Serta introduced these budget friendly mattresses, I had to try one out. I decided on the Sheepless night Medium gel memory foam since I wasn't looking for anything too firm. It arrived in a large square box, perhaps meant for a queen size unit, since the full size I ordered took up only half of the space. Upon opening, I found a heavily compressed product wrapped in multiple layers of thick plastic covered in glued cardboard type paper. Located inside was an envelope cutter tool which made it easy to cut away the plastic wrapping. I unfolded it in the lounge and let it form itself for several hours before placing it on the bed frame. I noticed no particular smell upon opening or during use. By bedtime, it was mostly fully formed except for one corner. I'm used to sleeping on a pillow top spring mattress that I added a 3" memory foam topper. I found the topper to have improved my sleep immensely these past few years, which is what motivated me to go full foam. I didn't expect the first few nights to be so different. I found myself trying to find the right sleeping position (I'm typically a side sleeper) and found that on your back is the best position for this style mattress. I was surprised how firm the mattress was while sleeping on my side. I found that with my old mattress setup, I would sink in just enough to comfortably place my head on the pillow. The firmness of this mattress causes me to unevenly lay my head on the pillow, causing strain on my neck. I attempted to support my head with a second pillow, but it was not comfortable. I really expected more from a full memory foam with gel considering my topper served me so well. I discovered this particular version of Serta's line won't work for me. I will look into a more hybrid setup. I realize everyone has different needs when it comes to comfort, just be aware, this mattress is quite firm for a medium. If you're a back sleeper, this should work fine.
