Great when it works. However the heat function doesn’t work all the time. Heat was the primary reason for buying this to help make the nursery warmer but unfortunately this product fails to satisfy these needs. For this price point this product cannot be recommended under any means.

Hello all, this is my review of the Shark Air Purifier 3in1 MAX. This filter system is absolutely great. The unit is well-packaged and unboxing was a simple matter. Just be careful, I had to place it on a towel to protect the top so it wouldn't get scratched up while turning the box upside down to remove the plastic cover. Upon plugging in the unit I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it is. The Shark Air Purifier 3in1 MAX is a clean-looking unit. Mine is black and it blends fairly well with the rest of my furniture, but it is a large unit standing about 36 inches tall. Once again it's almost silent in operation. I like that because I don't want to listen to a noisy fan all the time. What shocks me is that even on the highest fan setting I hear almost nothing. The Shark Air Purifier 3in1 MAX offers several different settings, such as filter only, and filter and heat at the same time. In all modes, it is very quiet. The unit features a large cylindrical washable filter in the base. I like that. No filters to replace all the time and no landfill fodder. The shark is supposed to filter out the air for 1000 sq ft of your home. I have found this to be true. The air inside my home smells great and the allergens are reduced. It has a display screen on the front that shows you the mode that the unit is currently in. The display screen is bright and crisp and easy to read. This screen does not turn off or time out, so it may keep you awake at night if placed in your bedroom. It filters 1000 sq ft, so I put it in a place out of the way and let it run. I'm going to give this joker a 5-star rating and say that I highly recommend this to friends and family.

The unit had a rattle and did not seem to work. I probably would hesitate to make a big purchase like this. The only good thing is manufacturer is replacing with a new one but I’m not sure how I feel trying again.

Excellent air purifier. It's very quiet and with the fan off you can barely hear it is running. The air settings for the fan to blow cold, heat or just purifying is great. Living in Texas this around the time when the weather doesn’t know what it wants to do from one day to the next. Being able to switch between cooling and heat whenever I need by the twist of a lever or press of a button is very easy. There is also a remote that comes off and can be attached by magnetism on the top of the purifier when you aren’t using it. It's one of my favorite parts of the design. Kudos to the designers as I have one less remote laying around or to misplace. I have a 685 square foot apartment and this is in the hallway area and cleans the entire place. My previous Shark purifier was the big 6 fan and both work just as well especially considering how bad my allergies can get. It also has an oscillation setting which is a nice bonus. The display tells you everything you could possibly want to know about the air quality, temperature and such and can also be dimmed. It's well worth a buy and high quality like all Shark products seem to be.

I'm pretty satisfied with this air purifier. Lucky for us but unlucky for this review, I got this to help clean the air when we have wild fires and there haven't been any. Also we mostly get allergies in the spring and it's fall right now. So it's hard to speak to the purification because we didn't really notice a difference in the house. I mostly had to go off the air quality indicator on the unit. It is pretty quick at cleaning up the air. When I plugged it in in the evening it was around 80% air quality. Running it on auto overnight it got to 100% in the morning. This was in a big open two story area with a living room, kitchen, dinning room, and sitting room. Unfortunately I don't have square footage for the area but there's a lot of air to have to work through. There was some slight odor while it was running that was kind of an electrical smell. It's slowly gone away but I'm not sure if we got used to it or if what ever manufacturing oils wore off. On that note, it would be nice if this came with an option to add a scented air freshener. It maintained 100% for awhile so I unplugged it to see how much it was actually needed. During that time we ran the furnace some since it was getting chilly at night. When I plugged it back in after a day our air quality dropped to 60%! I'm not sure what was going on in the environment but I'm sure the furnace contributed. Surprisingly we still didn't notice the bad air quality. It did take the unit half a day to cycle through and get us back to 100%. I'm very impressed with it's throughput and even more impressed by it's silence. You can barely hear the thing running when it is just on auto purify. We turned on the heat function to help use the furnace less and it was like a typical fan. You heard it on the back ground pushing air but it wasn't enough to distract you. Besides pretty much being silent, the other features I liked were the remote, temp control, and oscillation. The remote had a home on the unit with a magnet that was great for keeping track of, it was also handy to have a remote. When we ran the heater it was easy to set the desired temp and cut it loose. Feeding into that, allowing it to oscillate helped get the hot air moving in the house. A few things I wasn't thrilled about were the unit placement and air purification selector. Unlike what the marketing pictures show the manufacturer suggests having 3 feet of open space around the entire unit. That really puts it in the way anywhere in our house. I need to try tucking it away more like the pictures show to see if we see a degradation in performance. The other slight annoyance is that there's a remote to control the unit but if you want the purification only setting you have to turn a big nob on the side. I just don't know why that couldn't of been added to the electronic controls. Also a word of caution is that the remote doubles as the main controls. So if you lose the remote you lose the ability to change the settings. Even though we didn't see any night and day change in the household I would still recommend this. I have faith based off their air quality indicator that when the time comes that pollen or smoke needs pulled from the air this will make our house a safer place.

I love air purifiers. I already had a couple of them before getting the Shark. It touts 3 in 1 capabilities covering a sizeable space. Unboxing this purifier, the first thing I noticed is it is well boxed, well protected. There are adequate packing braces and everything is secured nicely with tape and plastic. I was very reassured that it wasn’t damaged and shipped well. Lifting it out of the box (and the box itself), I expected it to be heavier. It’s lightweight, primarily plastic, but very sleek and attractive if you like a more modern aesthetic. There was one area that felt a little loose or weak, the base, but I later learned that this air purifier actually has a rotation feature. The remote sits in a magnetic pan-like slot on top of the device, there is a dial and a few buttons, and that’s it - simple user layout. Shark recommends watching a video prior to use, but they have a very easy to follow and simple quick start guide included. I chose the latter seeing as the overall feel of Shark’s approach is one of simplicity. Plus, it doesn’t hurt that there are instructional stickers plastered all right on the side of the device. Plug it up, turn it on, fan immediately turns on, and you are treated to a digital display which has a stacked readout. The 3-in-1 starts immediately reading the air quality and displays the current temperature. The air quality measurement is displayed using a percentage along with a relative LED color. Cleaner air displays blue, with the color progressively displaying yellow/orange and red as the quality decreases. The temperature reading seems to be a couple of degrees lower than my room sensor – the Shark displayed 68 degrees while my ecobee sensor displayed 70. My first thought after powering this thing up? Quiet with good airflow. Without turning up the fan speed, I could feel the fan and heat from at least 8-10 feet – pretty impressive. I was also impressed with its ability to heat the room fairly quickly. As a purifier, the Shark does an admirable job, recognizing current air conditions and cleaning even smelly air when present. The Shark 3-in-1 air purifier has been the best such device for me since I started using it. It is quiet, but effective, has 3 modes of operation, including a heater, and has some very good tech to boot, including Clean Sense IQ. Add to this the fact that in everyday use it just works – it gets the job done in each mode. An outstanding option for anyone in the market.

    Purified and heated air!

I had another brand's air purifier that was a massive eyesore. While it worked to purify the air, it was a huge white rectangle in the room and at high speeds it was incredibly loud. I got the Shark Air Purifier Max because it is a 3-in-1 unit. One of the key features for me was the addition of heat. My wife is a diabetic and is constantly cold. Out of the box, setup is as easy as removing it from the box, removing the plastic covering on the unit, and the plastic covering the filter. Then, just plug it in and turn it on. The three modes are purified air, purified heat and purified fan. There is an adjustment knob on the side to switch between modes. When forward the unit is in purified air or heat mode. When switched back, the unit is in purified air mode. This mode maximizes the air purifying. A huge bonus with heat mode is that it has a thermostat. You can set it up to 86 degrees, or "HI" heat. If you set it to a specified temperature, say 78 degrees, it will maintain that temperature. The front display will show you the current room temperature. The display is easy to read and changes in real time. The outer ring changes colors based on the current air quality. Blue is good, orange/yellow is moderate, and red is poor. It also gives you a percentage reading as well. I've watched it change as our dog walks by it after coming in from outside. You'll see the percentage drop and watch the ring change colors. The Clean Sense IQ automatically tracks air quality and adjusts the power as needed to maintain clean, purified air. The HEPA filter captures allergens, dust and dander. I placed it next to the couch so that my wife can enjoy the heat. With it sitting about 18" away from the couch and the fan at full speed, you can barely hear it. My laptop fan is louder than this thing! I can also feel the air coming out of it sitting on the other side of the couch. It moves a good amount of air and purifies up to 1,000 square feet. It can also oscillate. There are buttons on top of the unit to control all of the settings, but they went a step further and included a remote. The remote is great. It's round and sits in a depression on top of the unit and has a magnet to hold it in place. It's nice to not have to get up to change settings. If you have it in a bedroom, or just don't want the display bright, you can dim it or turn the screen off completely. If you're looking for an air purifier, this is the way to go. It is feature rich and I highly recommend it!

It seems to purify the air pretty good as well as warm up the room as well as gives breeze to the room. It must saves money then gas, Central Heating if need one room to be warm, care freenfrom dust and allergens, and gives good rest having gentle breeze to my face while asleep helped much. Heating could improve more due to little slow on warming up 500~1000sq ft room.
