Didn’t work as intended, returned immediately, disappointed in purchase

I bought this for my grandmother for Christmas and she loves it. She's noticed a big difference in the air quality of her house and her coughing (because of cat hair) has been reduced significantly. She said it was very easy to use and, while not small, fits well in her small living area.

I love having an air purifier in my home for many reasons; cats, dust, recreational smoke, etc. I've used a couple of other brands, but I liked the added features this Shark offers and decided to give it a try. First, this sucker is big and the box it gets delivered in, naturally, is even bigger. It's also very light, so it's easy to set up and place in the right spot. Set is simple, just take off some of the tape and stickers, plug it in and you're ready to go. Don't forget to unwrap the filter as well! I love the remote/control panel. It stays on the device magnetically and serves as the control panel, but can also be taken off so you can use it as a remote control. Great feature. I placed this in my living room/dining/kitchen space and set it to auto. It's performed very well in this mode, it's also not too loud when running at the highest setting. It's also unseasonably cold here and the heat feature on this is awesome and works really well. I actually moved it into my office one morning and it did an awesome job of warming me up. I will use the cooling feature once the weather warms up again as well. One request in the future would be a wifi feature, though, the onboard screen and options are abundant.

I bought two of these since it was a great deal. I’ve had them up and running for two days. 30 mins after turning them on I noticed an immediate change. The air in my house smelled fresh and clean. My house is over 100 years old and can smell musty at times. After running for a day I turned them off just to see if it were my imagination. It was not. This product is amazing.

I like how this air purifier serves multiple purposes. Yes it can clean the air and tell me the air quality. But it also has a fan that I have not used yet (will once the summer comes). On the heat setting it gives a gentle heat that warms up my small apartment, and you can adjust the heat level too.

I was a little skeptical that this unit could deliver all it said it would, but it did! I've never owned an air purifier, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but this definitely has gone above and beyond expectations. First of all, for a purifier, it is VERY quiet. It has three purification modes: air, heat, and fan, and no matter what mode it's in, it stays quiet. It's also relatively small in size (for a tower) coming in at less than 2.5 ft in height and takes up little room space. Even so, it's still a workhorse. It cleans around 1000 sq ft, which is more than enough for my entire apartment honestly! This unit also uses a HEPA filter which is great for anything in the air, large to micro in particle size. I mainly got it for pet dander and it helps immensely. I'm noticing I sleep a little better at night and wake up less congested than usual. My two favorite features are the Clean Sense technology and the removeable control panel. The Clean Sense technology analyzes the air and constantly adjusts itself not only based on air quality, but on user preference as well. This keeps me confident that this unit is always running at its peak performance. The control panel on top of the unit is completely removeable and can be used as a remote to control the device, which I think is super clever.

I was skeptical but so glad I made the decision the very low fan sound puts me to sleep with tranquility, the heater is a plus I got to use it a few times and it has a timer, love it The remote nice in every way. So glad I bought this.

Overall it does what I bought it to do - heats up my space. It's not super intuitive to use and takes up a ton of room (my fault for not looking at the dimensions first, but hopefully this will prompt others to).

The drop in price really made this purifier worth it. I really wanted one with a cool fan and heater.

This shark air purifier is awesome! Really easy to use ..the heater really puts out good heat and is quiet.. very happy with this purchase.

Got this model HC501 (max, 1000 sq ft) and HC452 (smaller one, 500 sq ft) directly from shark. Here is what I think... Good in both... - Clear LCD display - Looks good - Remote works great when pointed properly. Need to get used to round remote. - Fan mode and air filter features are excellent - Display can be dimmed or turned off Issues in max model: I found 2 issues with max version compared to smaller one. 1. Could not control fan speed when set in heater mode. (HC452/small version can run fan at max speed in heat mode, not in max model) 2. Looks like there is issue with temperature monitor. It did not increase more than 68 degree even after running for 1 hour. (HC452/small version heats the room with high fan speed in less than 10 minutes and reach required temp in display) Not sure if above issues are only with my unit. CS told me fan runs in fixed speed only in heat mode in this model. Returning the unit, keeping the smaller one. Common issue in both models: 1. There is very mild creaking noise when put in oscillation in both models at the bottom of the unit, which can be heard when using it during night time in heater mode and set temperature is reached (i.e. fan stops and it only oscillates). This might bother sensitive sleepers. When fan is running noise from oscillation will be masked. 2. When required temperature is hit or when using remote, there is beep noise. Now way to stop this beep noise. It might bother sleep for someone. These issues are not acceptable for a product that cost this much. In my opinion, it is not worth 450 (without app / WIFI features + above issues).

It’s a beautiful unit, and very modern. The remote makes it convenient to utilize the settings (fan, heat, air purifier). I still haven’t figured out all of its features, but I’m loving what I’m using so far. My only issue is when the heater oscillates, it makes a clicking noise, as if it needs oil. I use it in a large room and like the feature, but the noise can be a bit annoying especially with something this sophisticated. For the price though, it was worth it.

Easy to use, works great and quiet, perfect fit for living room

I have been using the puifier for air and heat. I know one day i was cutting up onions and frying some bacon and when i turned it on the air was lowest i had seen it. Usually 96 or 97% when i turn on. This time was 63%. I didnt time but i think took about 15 minutes to clean it out. Could be wrong on that. My house is stick built house and 1200sf. I set the heater at 73 and i havent seen it any higher than 70.

Very efficient quiet and does a great job of filtering and purifying the air. Cuts down the amount of dusting.
