    Outstanding vacuum!!!

The Shark Navigator is the Best Vacuum I have ever owned! I was comparing the Shark Navigator to the Dyson DC17. I decided against the Dyson because I read several bad reviews about it and other Dyson models. Also, I really didn't want to spend $300-600 on a vacuum cleaner. The Shark Navigator has a very powerful suction. I vacuumed the entire house and the Shark vacuum filled the canister with a lot of dust and lint and this was after I just vacuumed the day before with my older Eureka bagless upright. I decided to further test the Shark Navigator by vacuuming the house again too see how much more it didn't pick up the first time and I was Surprised to see that there was almost nothing in the canister to dump out! My previous Eureka vacuum wouldn't pick up the fur from my longhaired cat on a fine wool area rug I had but, the Shark Navigator picked up the fur easily. I also, liked the powerful rotating pet tool attachment which I used to vacuum all the lint and dust from underneath my bed. I t worked just like a mini vacuum cleaner. The Shark Navigator includes a set of extra filters (2 foam 1 fabric) which is used when the original foam/fabric set is washed and left to air dry overnight. If you're looking for a lightweight, powerful, affordable, bagless cyclonic vacuum, give the Shark Navigator Serious consideration!!!

Great vacuum for pet hair and allergens

I recently bought this vacuum after my Hoover vacuum broke only after a year of using it. I needed a vacuum primarily for pet hair and dust & dirt. Based on the views of this product I figured I'd give it a try. I couldn't believe that after already using my Hoover the same day throughout my apartment, that after going back over it with this Shark that it it filled the reservoir the first time using it. It goes to show you that as good as I thought the Hoover vacuum was, it really was not the best. The vacuum was easy to put together and very easy to use. I would highly recommend this product especially for pet owners and people who suffer from allergies.

My family just moved into a new house that has a lot of Berber carpet. My old Eureka vacuum didn't have any suction on the carpet, even on the lowest setting. The things that it did suck up, it would shoot right back out. I began looking for a new vacuum and was being very picky. I came across the Shark Navigator and read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Oh my! It was such a good choice! This vacuum has great suction power and (in most cases) picks up debris with only one pass. I love that you can lower the vacuum to get underneath furniture with no problem. I can go from the hardwood to the carpet without having to make any adjustments at all. I was told that the vacuum is light-weight, which I guess it is compared to some, but I think it is still a little heavy to lug up and down our stairs, but that's a concession I'll gladly make. This vacuum is more than worth the money!

I really like this vac, it is easy to use and has great suction. I like how small it is and thought the price was well worth it. Cheaper then the Dyson and just as good.

It is light weight and easy to maneuver. Easy to clean and operate. I saw this brand vacuum with a detachable canister for stairs that would be nice. I have one and bought one for my son.

We purchased this vacuum about a month ago and I couldn't be more pleased. The suction is fantastic, we have 5 cats & 1 dog so hair is a big issue, especially in the summer when everyone is shedding..... I love that I can go from bare floors to rugs/carpet with just the touch of a button. The pet brush works great on getting hair off of the furniture, I can't believe how well it works. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have a longer extension to use with the hose, but I did see on the Shark website that this is a part that can be purchased. In all honesty, I did not expect this level of performance for such an inexpensive vacuum!

I bought my Shark Navigator at the beginning of this year after watching their infomercial. I wanted a good vacuum without spending a whole lot of money. My previous vacuum lost it suction and I needed to purchase another vacuum. After researching and looking at many different vacuums, I decided to purchase this vacuum by Shark. I purchased my vacuum for $149.00. Once I put the vacuum together and swept the floor, I could not believe the dirt left behind from my previous vacuum. The carpet looks new again. It’s lightweight and easy to maneuver. Although, I like this vacuum a lot; you cannot put much in the canister. (flc)

This is the best vacuum cleaner I have owned for years. I had a Sears Kenmore for approximately 15 years and it was a work horse, but it died. I then bought a high end upright Hoover vacuum, it did the job but the filter cleaning was a tedious, not easy to do and dirty. I then started searching for another upright vacuum. I had thought about Dyson but didn't want to pay the high price tags. I just happenend on this Shark and went on the internet to read everything possible about it. It does the trick! It is light weight, easy to clean once it fills with dirt and debris and it does work wonders. The suction on it is incredible and it most definitely gets up the dirt. I would recommend this vacuum a thousand times over. It is well worth the money. And it has a five year limited warranty.

    Best Vacuum!

I decided to buy this vacuum instead of the D-Animal due to the price. I really wanted to buy a D-Animal but after reading reviews, watching videos and testimonials from people I know I went with the Navigator. Pros: Light Weight Easy to Maneuver WOW Suction! This thing is powerful Really? BB's? (I will get to this later on) Lifetime FIlters Great cleaning tools Long Cord (does not get warm or hot when used extensively) Easy to assemble. Only 1 bolt to install Easy cleaning of filters and one touch dump of dust can Brush bar will stop if something gets wrapped up in it or if the vacuum is tilted nearly straight up the brushes will stop. (This can be a bad thing as well in special cases) When picking this up from the store (purchased online) A lady was returning her D-Animal because the head broke off. You wont have this problem with the Navigator. The body of the vacuum attaches to the brush head from the top. 2 Motors: 1 Motor for the suction, 1 Motor for the brush head. This insures powerful brushes and suction. POWERFUL Brush Bar that is not Cylinder Shaped!!! You ever get hair wrapped around your brush bar and find it hard to get scissors down and cut the hair? Not with this, this has groves where you can get scissors in easily to cut that hair away. 7 Year Warranty (make sure you register your vacuum to prevent problems with any warranty work). I bought the 2 year Best Buy warranty so I can just take it to them for the first 2 years no hassle and it was only $20. Cons: No Light: For those of you who care about this fine but I don't vacuum in the dark Tipsy: With its easy Maneuverability you can tip it if the brush head is not flat on the ground such as when wheeling it around. This is not a big ordeal I just noticed the potential for this to happen Small Dust Can: This is small, as you will see when you first use it. I cleaned a 4x4 section of my hall way carpet and immediately picked up last years dirt left behind by my Dirt Devil Special. I cleaned my 1300sqft home 4 rooms and emptied the dust can 7 times. It is crazy how much fine dust/dirt is picked up. Hepa Filter: The Hepa Filter is placed in the front of the machine right above the brush bar. This means when using this on a bare floor the air pushed out of the motor can blow the dust/dirt away that you are trying to suck up. There is a simple way around this that no one has posted yet. Just lean the vacuum down toward the ground more like if you are cleaning under a bed which puts the Hepa Filter in the air so it doesn't blow down on the ground. Problem Solved! This thing has so much suction that it can be hard to lean area rugs that are on hardwood floors. You will have to stand on it spreading your legs end to end (as far as possible) to keep it down so you can clean it. Guess what! You can use the pet tool for this as well but you wont get a super deep clean. ENDING: OK. I told you I would tell you about Really? BB's?. We bought our home 1.5 years ago from a family who had 2 young boys. Our computer room is one of the oldest boys old room. We have vacuumed many times and shampooed. Well, I was vacuuming and heard something clicking around in the vacuum. My first thought was something was caught in the brush bar. NOPE. I saw small BB's that you use in a BB Gun laying on top of my carpet!! My second thought was oh no! these are bearings from the motor. NOPE. Upon further inspection they were BB's. This thing was pulling out BB's from the carpet in this room that used to be a near teenage boy's room. I hope this was helpful. I believe in detailed reviews from real life experience. Do not waste your money on a D-Animal unless you are materialistic or have that much money laying around. Goodluck! ---John

Truley a Gem of a product!

My last vacuum was a Eureka that had gotten a better house keeping award of some sort, well after a year of fighting to keep suction with it, one day it started smoking so my husband and I started looking at a new, better vacuum. We have 2 dogs, but no children, but our carpet in our brand new home was looking worn. We looked at Dyson, Hoover, Electrolux, Kirby etc. You name it really. We didn't want to spend 400+ on a sweeper. Finding the construction of Dyson to be less than what we wanted for spending at least $500 we found the Shark Navigator. The light weight design and powerful suction got my curiousity going. Once we found it and brought it home, I didn't know if I should be excited or sick. My carpets have never looked better. The Shark got out dirt our last sweeper was leaving behind. I couldn't even get through a room without it finding tons of stuff to the point of needing to be emptied. Dust, hair you name it! It has strong suction! My husband was even impressed and he was wanting to go ahead with a Kirby or Dyson. He says he is glad we bought the one we did. I am so glad we found this Gem!!! You won't be dissapointed!!!

Am I the only one that feels like the vacuum falls over again and again while using the hose feature. So annoying. And the hose doesn't stay on the vacuum where it's supposed to when it's supposed to. Also the fact it doesn't have a cord that retracts is a pain. It is also heavy maybe why it falls over so much. A plus is the suction is great.

I absolutely love this vacuum. I had seen the infomercials and had my eye on it, but don't like to buy things off of tv. I need to read customer reviews, and see the product before I am willing to spend this much money. Anyways, I love this vacuum. It is a little heavy, but for the type of vacuum? Not at all. For an upright bagless vacuum this one is much lighter than the rest, but doesn't fall over when you use the attachments like the super cheap ones can. The suction on this thing is amazing!! You don't have to keep going over the same spot on the floor. Once is enough. I love the long hose on it and the attachment to clean the carpet pushed up against the trim at the bottom of the wall. It also comes in handy to vacuum the corners of the ceiling when a spider decides to try to make a web. The second I see one? Bu bye! No more icky spider webs to have to climb up on a chair and deal w/! My carpet literally looks like new again. I had NO idea how much dirt my old vacuum was leaving behind. I have a toddler and a husband, so needless to say? I have lots of messes to clean up! This vacuum does the trick w/out a doubt. My only real complaint is that it doesn't hold very much dirt and debris before you have to empty it, but in the scheme of things, that is a fine thing to deal w/ in trade for a fabulous vacuum. It is extremely easy to empty w/out getting your hands dirty, so one quick run to the trash can, and problem solved. Also, this vacuum is SO easy to maneuver! You can do circles easily. Not stuck w/ back & forth movement. Buy this vacuum! You'll love it.

    So far, so good . . .

Look . . . I just want a vacuum that actually works getting detritus out of my carpet for more than 5 uses, with no loss of suction and a reliable brush. I have not been successful with any vacuums until this one. It's got great suction and the motorized brush (as opposed to belt-driven) really rocks. I'm inclined to think that a factor in its performance is its rather narrow 9" path, which at first seemed like a negative, but I think works in its favor 'cause it keeps the suction up.. Works great, gets all the dust and stuff out of my carpet, and picks up everything on my bare floors as well. Super easy to empty, and the filters are easy to clean. A huge plus is that it does not make the usual noises of vacuums, which always grated on me. I think it's a keeper!

No problems here with my unit yet. Assembly was a little bit complicated, and they should have designed the base attachment better. If you don't hold the vacuum cleaner correctly when lifting, the base can fall off. After assembly I vacuumed my entire house and got TONS of cat hair up, oh my.. it got so much cat hair up from the carpets, I love it. The carpets looked so clean, and was very pleased at the quality of the suction of the device. Also it was light and easy to maneuver around the house. The general design was good and easy to use. Glad mine did not have any manufacture defects, so far.

This product is mislabeled - not self-propelled

I bought this vacuum for my 80 year old mother because it is labeled as self-propelled. She had a self-propelled vacuum that she used all the time, but it simply got to old and died. When the product came and I took it out of the shipping box I started to worry. No where on the box does it say that it is self-propelled, nor in the description, nor in the manual. I put the vacuum together anyway for her and we tried it. It was not self-propelled. Now I have to drag it back to the store. I will say that it did vacuum well but the cleaning head is really small. If I was not looking specifically for a self-propelled vacuum this one would be ok for the price. Finally, the reason I gave it a poor on feature is because is was not what was advertised. I did not try the wands or other cleaning tools.

My sister purchased this vacuum after a fastidious friend recommended it over Dyson. The friend had used both. My sister raved about it, so I bought one for my daughter when she moved into her first college apartment 2 years ago. The vacuum continues to have powerful suction after the use and abuse of 2 college households. I plan to purchase another one for my son this fall.

    Great Lightweight Vac

As a single female, I hated hauling my old vacuum up and down the stairs. I bought this vacuum recently and so far have been extremely happy with the results. It is lightweight and I have no issues moving it around the house. I love the pet hair attachment - I have two dogs and this is perfect for picking up hair off my couch and chairs. While this seems like a minor benefit, I love the cord length and I can just about get a whole level of cleaning without having to unplug the vacuum. This so far has been truly no loss of suction and is as strong as when I first bought the unit. Great product at a low price.
