I really like using this vacuum. It collects all of the crumbs and pet off my carpets quickly. Plus the option to use the hose allows for removal of small items off the tile quickly. I use the vacuum several times a week and it is extremely easy to empty its contents and to clean.

Needed a new vacuum - did quite a bit of digging online for the best option for what I wanted. Read reviews for several (on BestBuy.com and a few other retail locations and comparison sites). Went into the store this morning and purchased this one. It has done a great job so far - I am very pleased with it. (I am actually kinda embarrassed at how well it has done... because I had no idea there was that much dust and such in my carpet!) I do see the points of a few reviewers about the hose being in a kinda akward position - but it's nothing that I can't live with - and not being able to put all of the attachments on the vacuum - the pet hair extension doesn't have a space to attach to the machine (though given that the attachments kept falling off my last one that isn't an issue to me). I will update this review if I find any issues - But after vacuuming two bedrooms, the hallway and part of the dining room - I am very excited about this one!

This vacuum works great on pet hair dust and dirt. It is light weight and easy to carry. It works well on carpet and wood floors. I have three cats and it picks up their hair no problem. I would recommend this to any pet owner.

For the price you pay this vacuum is wonderful. It has awesome suction. It allows you to flip a switch to turn off the rotating brushes for vaccumming of hard surfaces (i.e. wood floors, tile, vynyl or linolium.) It is light weight and comes with a hose wand for crevisis. Out old vac was a bagless as well from another brand. we vacumed with it, then immediatley used the shark and the shark picked up dirt that the other vaccum left behind.

    Great Standard Vacuum

The vacuum I had before this one was cheap, very cheap. This one works great and was at a decent price. The only downside is that it is a bit heavy so it can be a challenge to clear stairs, but there is a model that is meant for that with a higher cost.

    Awesome Vacuum

This little machine is full of power; I'm so impressed. Compared to a Dyson, I feel like I have the better deal. A 7 year warranty....even Best Buy couldn't give me an extended warranty because the manufacturer exceeds that which Best Buy can give. Easy to maneuver, under tables, easy to empty, lots of extra gadgets. I have a cat that sheds a lot and I vacuum 3x a week.....holy cow.....this vacuum is unbelievable. I had no idea SHARK was such a great vacuum maker; I will never buy another brand again.

First off I would like to say that I have only owned this a week, and will make necessary updates if the performance of this product deteriorates. This is a VERY powerful vacuum that cleans very well. Areas of my carpet that another brand would hardly touch are now clean because of the Shark. My one complaint is the capacity of the dust canister. It fills very quickly and requires frequent emptying. That is why I gave this a 4 instead of 5, but that will not cause me to return it. IT also has a narrow cleaning head, but the power of it more than makes up for it. Works great on bare floors, have not had trouble with debris being blown around. When you are on carpet you can feel the suction and the brush propel the vacuum. It's not going to rip it out of you hands, but you will notice the pull. Has worked on every "dirt" that accumulates on carpets. The hose attachment is excellent for getting into corners. An all around excellent vacuum.

    Best Vacuum owned

I bought the Dyson Animal before I had bought the Shark. I can tell you that the Shark Navigator is the best vacuum that I have owned hands down. If you want pratical, light, strong suction, accessories and long cord, this is it. If you don't feel like moving the couch, table or chair to vacuum then go and pay more than twice the amount and buy a Dyson. If you wrist didn't hurt, well now it will. All I'm saying is that the Dyson is a good design for a motorcycle maybe...but not practical for a household for the price. Compare them and you will see. Almost the same power of suction 10 amps, longer cord, lighter. Good luck.

After reading reviews and finally spending that extra money, I was immediately surprised. I cannot believe how filthy my carpet was until I used this vacuum. It actually looks like I had my carpet professionally cleaned. Did I mention how quiet it is as well? I never once thought as an adult I would get so excited over household appliances but this little vacuum is the bees knees.

I vaccumed the day I got my Shark, my floors had been vacuumed the day before and I was amazed at how much fuzz and dirt it got up. After using it 3 times I'm finally getting minimal dirt in the cup. The extra long cord is a plus also. It is light weight and easy to use. The filters are all easily removable and washable. Now the big question will be how many years it will last.

My husband was skeptical when I ordered this, but he used it first and was very pleased. Great suction, lightweight and easy to maneuver. There are filters to be cleaned, but you don't have to clean them every time. Any vacuum cleaner has filters to clean or something to empty so that's a trade off as to what there is. So far, very pleased and would recommend it.

This is the best vacuum I've ever owned!

I was hesitant to get this; thought it would be messy to empty the bin. Although the bin is small and I do have to empty it frequently, it's the only drawback. When I brought this home, I used my old vacuum first then immediately tried my new Shark Navigator to see if it would be able to pick up anything from the just-cleaned carpets. I was amazed at the results. My carpets look fluffier and feel softer under foot. The amount of dirt it pulls up is remarkable. I'll never own a Hoover again. Also, it's not as loud so my cats don't freak out when I use it. It's not too heavy so it's easy to take upstairs and back down again.

The most amazing vacuum cleaner EVER

This is the best vacuum I've ever used! We have a boxer/Shepherd mix and she sheds incessantly. This is the ONLY vacuum that works on the wood floors, carpet, rugs AND sofas. We also owned a Dyson but this cleans even better. I had planned to shampoo the carpet in the bedroom but after one pass with the Shark Navigator, it doesn't even need it. After I vacuumed the bedroom my husband asked if I'd used carpet freshener (no) because the room smelled so fresh. Honestly, it's like I've never vacuumed these floors before, the Shark is so amazing. I would definitely purchase again and again, I can't say enough good things about it.

This is not a good vacuum. This is an excellent vacuum! My carpets look like they were just washed and just shocking how much dirt it picks up. Very little effort in pushing when it starts; almost propels itself. Easy transition from carpet to bare floors; literally it's just the push of a switch.

    Review, 18 months after purchase

I've used this about 60 minutes per week for the last 70 months or so, and here's my take: -it really doesn't lose suction. The motor is strong and the cyclonic exhaust is above in the chamber while the debris stays below in the cyclonic partition, including silt, ash, fine dust. I don't know how they figured out how to do that, since those fine particles are what cause suction loss. Even when full, the upper half of the chamber stays clear and the screen mesh filter is for the most part half clear between dumpings. - filter and filtration system is good. The way to know is to look at the 3rd stage filter. It is felt material, much like a hospital respirator mask, and is clean. the 2nd stage is also clean. the first stage is what gets soiled and and needs cleaning. These redundant filters ensure that the stuff you vacuum stay in the vacuum. I don't know why it's not advertised as hepa filtration, because it has a thicker filtration system than my air purifiers. Then again it might have something to do with the microscope stuff like spores and pollen that aren't visible to the eye. - the attachments are awesome, esp. the long extension with tapered end. Very strong suction for reaching ceiling cobwebs, in between washer/dryer and wall, behind fridge, etc. very satisfied with this. overall light weight. hasn't failed yet. small footprint. This thing picks up a lot of silt/dust. I'd follow the instruction's suggestion to go outside, wrap the canister in a trash bag, close it off with your hand, then pushing the release so that it does so in a contained manner. You can manipulate the contents through the bag with your hand anyway. The reclose, and wipe off the outside. 30 second step.

    "I had no idea."

Have you seen that part in the movie "Contact" where Jodie Foster sees all those galaxies in the universe interacting with each other for the first time and in astonishment mutters, "I had no idea." ??? Well, that is how I felt when vacuuming my living room for the first time with this great vacuum cleaner. I had no idea it could pick up that much stuff off of the floor. Now, it could be that I moved into a new place that had new carpet, and my cat thoroughly began to rip out tiny pieces, and I waited 5 months to buy a vacuum cleaner after mine broke, but this thing sucked up everything that was lying on the floor. I had to stop and empty out the container 4 times to complete just one room. That may be a deterrent to buying this vacuum because the container is small, but it felt great picking up all that stuff that was on the floor, which I know a traditional vacuum would have missed. Of course I just bought it and don't know how well it will do down the road, but for now, with regular emptying of the container, it is doing awesome.
