My 9 yr old hated vacuuming before I purchased this. It is so light and easy to use, he does not mind to now.

This has great suction and the tools are easy to use. The canister is smaller than my previous vaccuum, so I have to empty it more often. This is a good thing because when I dump it in the trash all the dust does not fly all over the place. Downside is that the vaccuum does not have a height adjustment for different carpets and it tips over easily.

The reviews for this vacuum were decent so we decided to get it. Within a month it stopped working and the rollers wouldn't move. We tried everything that they said online. All in all we ended up returning it and exchanging it. For the amount of money we spent it definitely wasn't worth it and now have a different vacuum all together!

While this item was advertised as great for clean up for pets I found it was not great at all. This vacuum does not pick up much of anything very disappointed in the product. The cord placement is designed very poorly. Would not purchase a shark in future.

This vacuum was the worst vacuum that I have ever owned. The suction wasn't there and the hose kept falling as I was moving. I ended up buying the more expensive one and it picked up three times the amount of dust...right AFTER I used this one.

    Not worth the money

It is a great vacuum but it has serious design flaws. If you have all carpeting by all means, buy it, you'll love it. But if you have mostly hardwood floors forget it, buy something else. I have 3 cats and 1 dog. I have an Oreck that I love but the Oreck does not have a hose and attachments for cleaning furniture. Nor does it have good edge cleaning. If it did it would be the perfect vacuum. I have to drag out two vacs just to clean the house. So I saw the ad for the Shark Navigator and was pretty impressed. I bought it and set it up. At first I was impressed with it....til I got to the pet hair on hardwood floors. Design flaw number 1. They put the HEPA filter at the very bottom of the vacuum in the front of the vacuum! DUH! How stupid. The pet hair blew away from the vac and went under the couch as if I had a fan in front of the vac. After pulling the couch out so I could get all the hair, the darn HEPA filter blew the hair into the air as I approached the wall. Now not only do I have hair still on the floor but it is flying around the room landing on all the furniture. Okay so now I have to get out the darn duster too. Design flaw number 2. Throw rugs get caught up in the brush roller way too easy no matter what size rug or how heavy or lightweight the rug is. So forget about cleaning those with this vac. More time wasted by having to either shake the rugs out or getting my trusty Oreck to do the job. Design flaw number 3. You will be emptying the dust cup several times if you have pets. It fills up fast because it is so tiny. It looks big but their design for "no loss of suction" is to have a lot of air space between the cyclonic thingie and the collection cup. Also the vacuum sure seems heavier than 14.7 pounds. You won't be lugging it up and down stairs. Design flaw number 4. Not all attachments fit on the vac. So you either have them dangling around in the bag they provide for this purpose or dig them out of the closet everytime you need them. Design flaw number 5 The handheld power brush is big and bulky. You will not be deep cleaning fruniture with that! It is great for stairs (but not the riser) and the topside of furniture but forget about getting in between cushions with it! Also if you have carpel tunnel you might as well throw it out because it is too bulky and heavy to hang on to.

    Shark Navigator Vacuum

    Posted .

After reading great reviews,I bought the Shark Navigator vacuum at Best Buy and it is the WORST vacuum I ever owned. I'm older and have had pets all my life --I've had many vacuums!-- and this is the worst! Problems started when I was putting it together. The hole where the bolt goes to hold the handle on did not align right, no matter how I adjusted it. I'm a calm Christian woman but was perspiring and saying dreadful words by the time I gave up. I finally bought a nut and bolt to hold it together. The dirt container is tiny and has to be emptied continually! The beater bar continually stops rolling, even after I've cleared out any dog hair. If I can get through 3 vacuum sessions without having to deal with beater bar issues with this piece of junk I'm lucky! I'm going to have to go out and buy another vacuum because this vacuum stresses me out! I will never buy a Shark product again, and strongly advise others to think twice!

    Shark Navigator SUCKS...no pun intended!

I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but I felt totally ripped off after buying the Shark Navigator. Yes...I read all the great reviews and bought into all the hype about how great this vacuum is, but it has a lot of problems: The dirt canister is deceiving...it looks nice and large, but the part that actually holds dirt is about the size of a cup...which is probably appropriate because that's about the amount of dirt you can expect to pick up after running it in 3 bedrooms. Plus, if you get it on a plush carpet, like a bathroom rug, the vacuum brush stops rotating until you turn it off and back on...there aren't any height adjustment with it. Fortunately, Best Buy refunded me the cost of the vacuum and I ended up buying a Bissell Pro-Force vacuum. One cleaning with it and I saw all the dirt the Shark Navigator was leaving behind. Thanks Best Buy for refunding my money!

    Dissappointed

Really excited about this purchase. I assembled it easily. Vacuumed around the house with it. Then I compared it to the old vacuum we had. Our old Bissell picked up more than the Shark. I exchanged this Shark for a Hoover Rewind 2 and that picked more dust than the Shark. It also topples over.
