Based on the reviews I read I decided to buy this Shark. When I got home I used it one room and with all the hype about the no loss of suction and when it started filling up canister I almost believed it. That is until I got my 13 year old Kenmore out that I was about to throw out but I ran it across the same area the Shark just ran through and it picked up even more. That's when I decided to take it back and get a refund. Maybe I just got one that wasn't up to par like all the others that are made. To each his own but my Sister happened to pick up a Dyson DC animal from a Garage sale for 50 bucks and gave it to me because she already had one and that thing is a beast. Also the Dyson was a couple years old and picked up much much more than the Shark. I do have a Shark steam mop however and that thing is pretty good. Anyway that's what's good about Best Buy. The return policy is awesome.

Every time my husband and I go to empty out the dust, the lid opens from the bottom and dust spills all over. We have taken to doing this outside. If I knew product was made this way I would not have bought it. Otherwise, it would be a nice vacuum.

I put two stars because I feel that it does not pick up the dirt from a bare floor like it should.

Used very minimal in my apartment and the Motor burnt out. I kept it clean and debri free

Only had this for about 3 -1/2 months and it's dead. Vacuum still works, but the roller doesn't spin; so without that, it's useless on carpet. The belt is fine, but the electrical motor that spins it is dead. Their warranty states 7 years, but it also states that electrical parts are excluded - off course. If it was meant to be a throw away vacuum, then it's way overpriced. I'll fix it myself, but if you're not very mechanically inclined, look for something better. My usage: light office vacuuming, less than 10 minutes a day, light office debris (nothing bigger or heavier than maybe cookie crumbs).

The small canister fills up quickly so I have to empty it after vacuuming an area 10' x 10' or 5' x 5' if carpeted. The motor runs hot so I can feel the heat blowing out from the front. You can quickly warm up a room vacuuming it. It's great for cold winter times but not so great in the hot summer days. If it blows this hot, I'm guessing it uses a lot of electricity but haven't tested that with an electricity usage meter to see how much.

This vacuum does have great suction, but it does not swivel, and the base is very narrow, which means vacuuming took forever.

i have been using Dyson for years now and decided to switch. Based on the reviews I read I thought it was worth it. However, compared to Dyson this product doesn't stand a chance. It lacks the suction power I am used to and that I need having a large dog in my household. I would not buy this product again.

I didn't check previous reviews before purchasing. I was returning one a different brand that didn't work. I previously owned a Shark before I really liked so I purchased this one, but found out it doesn't pick up as well as the one I had before.

Worked ok for a few months then the power cord came lose and wires were showing had to trash it

After reading the advertisement, I thought this vaccum was the answer for me. Not so. Yes, it has suction but on hardwood or vinyl floors it takes forever. I couldn't even complete one room without having to empty the tiny cup. I vacuum every single day, so this is ridiculous. As long as the cup was empty it had great suction. Then, even the smallest amount in the cup affected the performance dramatically. It took me four times longer to do each room. I returned this vacuum within 24 hours. I like Best Buy, they have no hassle returns.

Heard great reviews on this product from friends and wasn't ready to pay 2x as much for a Dyson. It actually did a great job on cleaning our carpets, however that's all that was great about it. The wheel base is so narrow that the vacuum feels like it's going to fall over constantly (and it actually did a few times while using the hose attachments). Also, to its credit, it has amazing suction power, unfortunately that power causes it to excessively pull at my couch covering. So...it's a great vacuum if that's all you're going to do with it, but if you want to use the attachments on furniture, you're SOL. Also, what's up with the silly holes in the extender wand. Overall, it just seemed very cheap for the price.

Too small of a container, barely fits much at all.
