I returned this and got the A-Pex, wow what a machine is all I can say. I’m not a fan of vacuuming at all, but this thing pretty much walks itself. It’s enjoyable I suppose.

I gave this 3 stars cause of the hair that gets wrapped around the roller. It said on the box that it wouldn’t wrap around it. Unfortunately it does and I have to spend time cleaning it off after a couple of uses.

Honestly. Worst one I’ve ever had. Very disappointed. Worked great at first. Couple months later it just dumps out what you vacuum.

My previous vacuum was a Dyson Animal and I felt it did a good job. This Shark Navigator is easy to assemble and very easy to use. Having just vacuumed the house a few days earlier I wasn't expecting to pick much up with the Shark. Instead it picked up a lot of hair and dust from the carpets which was pretty impressive. Having a house of females with long hair, I could tell that this Shark was super aggressive at cleaning up and left me with confidence. I like the way it looks, and I like the way it just has an upscale vibe to it. Very clean and nice color scheme as well. This is a lightweight vacuum and navigates the floors easily and I'm so glad we have this in our home now.

started off strong, seems to have lost some suction despite cleaning it. The motor is loud too, always has been. Beats spending 600 on a Dyson.

Pet hair (Keeshond) still gets wrapped the roller and needs cut off. Scissors work best. At least with the roller being yellow it is easy to see when full of hair.

I bought it because it’s cheap and good at catch allergens. But once it arrived, I fount it very heavy and clumsy to use. Especially for straight angled corners, it is very hard to turn smoothly. Plus, when emptying the chamber, dust comes out and stick on the vacuum which makes filtration meaningless. It comes with 3 different accessory tools, but not easy to switch as you’re holding the big chamber as well as trying to not be trapped by the cord.

This vacuum does a fantastic job, with only one shortcoming. I will get to that later. This vacuum is solidly built and I can see it surviving the punishment it will take in this household. My wife is hard on vacuums, we go thru at least one a year no matter the quality nor price of the vacuum. After running it, you can see a difference over our previous vacuum. The previous vacuum, by another manufacturer, was said not to lose suction and advertised as a pet vacuum. Well, over the last year it has lost suction and collected enough hair that the brush is hampered by the strands. Based on the design, it supposedly will not happen with this vacuum. Time will tell, but you can almost see why it won't happen here. There is plenty of clearance and the brush seems like it will minimize the strand collection pretty well. The vacuum comes with all the attachments needed. You have all the crevices and brush attachments you expect from Shark and you would pay extra for with a few other manufacturers. They truly thought of almost everything. Almost. The collection bin is large and shows how much it picked up. The chamber is also detachable from the base so you can easily use this on stairs or with the attachments or to reach ceiling fans or blinds without the added weight of the motor in the arm you are extending. It is close to being a canister vacuum but has all the capabilities of a normal upright. What is the one flaw? The cord is shorter than most any other vacuum we have ever had. It is a shame that something as simple as a cord for a corded vacuum would be the only detraction. When I say the cord is short, where we can usually unplug a couple times thru the house, the cord is probably 2-3 feet shorter than the other vacuums we have had. It is not a major difference, just means moving the cord a few extra times in our house. If you can live with what seems like a short cord, this is an outstanding vac.

    Functional Upright

Never owned a Shark before this one but heard good comments from family. Got this shortly before moving, our previous house had a few rooms with carpet, our new place is a tile and laminate mix. On all of the types of surfaces I have tried so far, this vacuum does a great job with it's suction power. I was never one to vacuum tile and laminate much, but while doing a vanity swap, sanding and other small home fixes, the lift-away mode has been very useful to clean as we go. In my space I got the say the cord length and extensions have been functional, I can typically get through a space without having to change outlets. The vacuum is a bit loud, echos in my space a bit currently while getting situated. It is a vacuum though, don't usually do any late night vacuuming sessions while the kids are sleeping so it doesn't bother me. Overall this product has been great with my experience, no serious drawbacks. I just have to stow away some of the attachments because I don't know if they can all be attached to the vacuum. Benefit of that is it's very functional!

    Shark Navigator Lift-Away ZU562

So I've been testing out the Shark Navigator Lift-Away ZU562 vacuum over the last few days and must say that Shark continues to amaze me. The vacuum took all of 2 minutes to put together. Everything basically snaps and connects into place. Inside the package was the motorized floor nozzle, the vacuum pod, the wand, and the handle/hose attachment. All 4 pieces snapped together so seamlessly. Included in the box was also the attachment pieces for upholstery cleaning for like pet hair. After everything was connected I powered up the vacuum and pleasantly surprised by the suction power of the vacuum and how easy it was to use. The other good this about this particular vacuum is the fact that carpet strings and hairs don't get caught on the roller under the vacuum. Everything else was self-explanatory and I'm glad that it has a huge canister, which means less emptying for me. All in all I would recommend this vacuum to anyone looking for a nice quality vacuum.

    Good Option

I’ve used several Shark vacuums so I was excited to try this one with the hopes that it would comparable to my favorite one that broke (due to human destruction sadly). This one works well and does the job. Strong suction picks up everything you see as well as everything you don’t (and didn’t know was there until you saw it in the canister). It’s extremely lightweight...which is great when you use the lift away option but I would have like the fully assembled weight to be a little heavier. Extra long cord is perfect. Canister is a decent size so you don’t feel like you are needing to dump it too often to complete your full home cleaning. I wish there were a better attachment storage system. It only has one spot to store one attachment on the vacuum. You’ll have to have a place to put the other attachments until you need to use them. The red color is fun...well, as fun as a vacuum can be lol. Overall it’s a great option to use. It’s not quite my fave Shark vac so my deduction of star is based on a bias I have for a specific product within the brand...and it not quite being as great as that one. But it is definitely worth trying out.

    Simple, Reliable, Shark

Approximately 6 years ago my newly wedded wife and I went to a retail store that we received gift cards for with the goal of picking up a new vacuum that was going to last longer than our previous vacuum that seemed to be unusable after approximately a year. I was hard set on buying the premier "ball" vacuum that was nearly $500 because I figured that you get what you pay for. The wife talked me out of it, and we purchased their competitor, The Shark Navigator Pro at half the price and it did us very well for 6 years. Now we have a 3 year old that loved to imitate her mother's cooking and decided to pour all of our seasonings all over her play kitchen set in her carpeted room. Fighting through the scent of Chile Powder, Garlic, Hickory BBQ, Cocoa, and anything else that you could imagine coating the floor, our six year old vacuum pretty much put in its resignation. Every part of it became so coated with powder that parts stopped moving. We needed a new vacuum, and with how reliable our previous Shark was, we gladly welcomed another one. This new Shark picked up right where the old one left off. Simple assembly, familiar controls, great suction. I think my favorite update is that you don't have the big looping hose over the back of the vacuum and you no longer have to unhook that hose to use the handheld attachments. The handle doubles as the reaching element for the vacuum and actually detaches at two different points, giving you the choice of close reach or far. which is great as I have used this for both under cabinets and in cars, each of which benefited from the different reaches. Shark was also smart enough to put multiple attachments into one simple design. I.E. the narrow hose attachment that is good for crevices also has the brush attachment connected to it and it slides and secures in place at either the top or bottom, depending on whether it is needed. Downsides, this vacuum feels like a truck. It feels heavy, slow, and not meant for agility. Not necessarily bad things, but when compared to competitors, it won't win any races. Second, even for an experienced Shark user, some of the release buttons for the canister and other parts feel oddly placed. And finally, like some other vacuums, not all of the attachments have a place on the vacuum. I am one of those people that believe that everything needs its place. If an attachment doesn't fit on the vacuum, I need to find another place for it and it never seems to find a home and I need to search for it when I need it. All small things, but things that just make you wish they would correct for the next time I need a vacuum, which hopefully is at least another six years.
