A good small air purifier
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a big fan of Shark products and the products I have used so far have always been just solid products. Nothing earth shattering, but really well made quality products. I am not saying it as a bad thing, but in this case, you get what you pay for and it shows, in my opinion. This air purifier is good for a medium sized room but not intended for the likes of a kitchen area. Why? Because in "auto" mode, which is the best mode for us, once particulates accrue in the air, this purifier will try it's darnest to clean the air! And it gets super loud. This is the first purifier that I notice on high, others I have seen have the high as a small breeze, but this one is like a gaming laptop fan blowing. I do like the easy to use touch controls on top of the unit. The screen is super helpful and very modern as well. There is no remote and you cannot operate it with an app or link it on wifi, which I think would be cool if it could be linked to Amazon or a Google account to utilize at least an on or off function. The Never Change filter is like a regular filter but on steroids. I am not sure if it will indeed last 5 years in my house, but the replacements I have seen, seem to be expensive. I guess not replacing for that gap of time, you do save money by replacing the filter less. I also really like the filters on the side where you can easily slide out and clean like a dryer lint trap. Very intuitive. Just use a swifer to wipe away and you're good to go. Bottom line, it's a solid product, it can get loud on auto mode, but works well.
