This iron is *heavy*, so that you don't need to apply so much pressure when using it. It glides smoothly over most fabrics. I bought this iron because of the tip that reminds me of a dolphin's beak, and this feature works great around shirt buttons and when needing to get into corners. As pleased as I am with this iron, I gave it four stars instead of five because: 1.) it shuts off after 15 minutes; 2.) you have to, like, shake the thing to start it again, then wait for it to warm up; and 3.) there are four temperature settings and that's it. No in-between. I sew every day and the too-soon shut-off and the lack of more graduated heating choices messes me up. I would love to find a hack for overriding these features. But, like I said in the title, I would buy this iron again if it ever goes kaput. I go through lots of irons and this really IS a swell iron. Incidentally, I never put water in an iron. Using the steam feature always shortens the life of an iron (for me, anyway). I use damp press cloths or a spray bottle on the side if I need the extra moisture.

It is a Basic workhorse iron

Bought this based on reviews that praised it. It is an iron. Large, bulky and heavy, with steam and spray features to get some powerful ironing done. Although it has a round dial, the heat settings are not continuous... there are just four heat setting, described by fabric type. I use an iron for clothing, table linens, and also quilting and sewing projects. My ironing board is always set up, and the iron sits on the ironing board, ready to plug in and use. Inevitably, at some point, the iron gets knocked over and falls to the floor. Sometimes irons survive this fall, but sometimes they're damaged, and so it's time to buy a new one. Although I would love to use one of the premium irons (such as a Rowenta), I figure they are just as likely to break in an accidental fall as a cheaper iron, so I try to buy budget priced irons that can do the job, and hurt my wallet less when they need to be replaced. This one met those criteria.

This was a great price of $29 at the time I ordered. It works in every way described. The steam button had broken on our old iron, so I'm glad to be able to use that again. I have noticed, there is a bit of wait (delay) after pushing the steam button for the steam to actually come out. Every device is different and has operating quirks, so this is not a big deal... just different from what I was used to. One other note: This iron is BIGGER than what we had before. Again, it's just a matter of getting used to a different feel. Of course the advantage is, the bigger iron covers more of the surface when ironing. This is a "good" iron... I'm not sure I would rate any iron "excellent." Irons to me are interchangeable. It's not like a TV with a lot of features that would sway a consumer to purchase one model over another. It's just an iron!

Let me start by saying that I don't like to spend a lot on an iron. Inevitably, you end up with a product that leaves a lot to be desired. Never so much that I would spend more. When I saw the Shark iron for the price (and knowing the quality of Shark products), I decided to spend a little more and purchase it. It has been the best iron that I have ever owned. It steams really well and takes care of all but the most stubborn wrinkles. The temperature controls work great, so I've had no scorched clothing or a sticky iron surface. I would recommend this iron to anyone who is cost conscious but also wants a quality product.

    Bad engineering

I have had 2 Steam shark Irons, this model being one of them. The first one stopped heating after about 6 months. This one the steam button stopped working. When I pushed down on the button it stayed down and there is not way to get it back up. I even pulled the button up with a pliers and the plastic shell on the button comes up but the underlying mechanism stays in the down position making the main function of the iron useless. I will not buy a Steam shark iron again. I have also lost faith in EuroPro as a company and doubt their engineering on their steam shark mops and Ninja blenders.

This iron definitely serves its purpose. We bought this one to press only our work clothes so we basically just use it for not more than 20 pieces of clothing. The steam is really strong and makes it easier to get the clothes wrinkle free. The only reason I am not giving it a 5 star rating is that before I can finish pressing all of our work clothes, I had to refill the water for steam like 3-4 times. Overall though, this is a good iron for the price you pay.

Waking it up after a Auto Shutoff

After the iron does an auto shutoff, it isn't easy waking it up, there is no on/off switch you have to move/shake/roll the iron to wake it up and it doesn't turn back on in a second or two, sometimes I have to keep moving it for a minute or so. I personally do not like this and would prefer an auto shut off if there was no movement in 2 minutes but when you want to use the iron a simple ON/OFF button would be nice.

I decided to order this Iron online after my iron went dead and having to put my clothes in the dryer for days to get the wrinkles out, My husband was adamant about not buying another cheap iron so I went searching. I could not find anything in the stores so I looked online and this shark iron was on sale. It is more expensive than I've ever spent on an iron but I know Shark is a good brand as I have a vacuum from them. I am impressed with how smooth the iron is and how it performs. Heats up quickly and minimum water spillage. happy with this purchase.

I had a top of the line Rowenta steam iron that worked excellent for 6 or 7 years. Survived many tumbles off the ironing board. I wanted to replace it with another Rowenta but the model I was replacing seemed too pricey for me. Found this Shark model with good reviews and all the bells and whistles that my Rowenta had. So far so good. Does the job just fine with no complaints. My son and I use it the most for ironing dress shirts and slacks. The shape of the point is great for getting around shirt buttons.

    Great Iron

This is a great iron. It provides lots of steam when the steam button is pushed. It has a sprayer for dampness and provides good heat. It is a bit heavy, but I like my iron on the heavier side. The only con is it does take a few minutes to reach full heat capacity, so I plug it in first, then get my ironing board ready. I am a quilter and big sewing enthusiast and this is one of the best irons I have ever had.

This is really a quality product that its not apparent by looking at the photo. Professional features and heavy weight. It seems that many irons promote lightweight as a positive feature but that's not correct as a heavy iron puts the correct pressure on heavily creased items to get the job done, something that lightweight irons cannot do.

This is not a small iron. The size doesn't matter to me. It gets very hot and I love the tip of the iron. It allows you to iron in areas that are hard to get to. It's not supposed to splat water but it does. It's not a huge deal, but I couldn't give it 5 stars for that reason. Otherwise, it seems to be a pretty good iron. This is my second Shark iron.

This is a great iron. It takes a lot of water, which allows you to iron for a long time. I like that is has a see through port to let you know when level is low and has auto shut off if you forget it is on. I wish it had a retractable plug but other than that no complaints

So far it does the trick that an ordinary iron would do, but it is made by shark. The design is sleek and simple to use. The results are impressive. It irons my clothing like I sent it to the Cleaners. Great job, I hope there will be no need for a replacement for months to come. You can't go wrong when purchasing this iron.

This is a basic no frills iron. It gets the job done and that's about it. I really got tired of spending lots of money on irons that don't last. The only cons would be it's pretty heavy and the glide isn't as smooth as say a rowenta. Bottom line it's functional and efficient for the money.

I have tried many many irons I am a quilter and an iron is as important As your Sewing machine, I have spent between 100.00 and 200.00 dollars on irons in the last 15 years to still be disappointed with spitting water and or leaking. Decided to give a cheap iron a go and I have to say so far so good I'm loving this one!

Love this iron! It's heavy enough to not topple over easily. Has a nice wide base when you put it upright, so it is not inclined to tip over. Using mine at the moment. It is sitting on my little antique ironing board. Couldn't be happier with my new iron!!!

    Best Iron I Have Owned

I'm not high-maintenance, I just prefer an iron that will smooth wrinkles in my casual work clothes, but not burn other materials. No rust, no issues after several weeks of use. New irons are like used cars; it doesn't take long for flaws to arrive. None thus far. For the low price, the best I've owned.

This iron is nothing to write home about. If does what irons do no more no less. It doesn't glide like some of the better irons but it doesn't drag or stick either. The water reservoir is a good size and the iron isn't too heavy. Overall, it's a good value for everyday ironing.

I feel this has all the necessary features for a good price. Only criticism is that that temperature setting isn't a fixed wheel, which seems fancy when you first use it, except that it's easy to accidentally move the control as you're ironing. It's not a serious issue, more annoying than anything else.
