I don't know why Sharp thought to take this functionality away and just put the 30 sec button, so you can't cook for less than 30 sec (unless you stand next to it and stop it when you want).

Posted .Hello. To set a specific time, you will need to press the preferred power level (Power pad) followed by the time in which you would like to cook then press Start. The microwave can be programmed for 59 minutes 99 seconds (59:99). If you have any questions, please let us know via email at [email protected].
gets super hot on top and shuts off

Just so happens to START acting crazy 1 month after the warranty ended. Thought spending 150 on a microwave you would get on that lasts, but might as well go with the cheap ones, they last a lot longer.

Generally speaking I like my kitchen appliances easy to use and I had to dig out the manual to figure out how to enter specific lengths of time.
