Terrible
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In order to use the smart features on this tv, you have to register and pay for Roku. There is not a way to access anything without purchasing this. After several attempts, returned it back to store. Employee stated a lot of these Roku tvs come back. If you don't mind paying for Roku, it did have a nice picture

Great value TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV replaces a 32" Sharp 720p TV from 2005-2006. It seems comparable to most of its competition today in terms of screen brightness, sharpness, etc. It obviously totally blows away the 10 year old unit it replaces. We had a Roku 3 on the old TV, and really enjoy the Roku integration with this new TV. We use the TV for nothing besides watching Roku, and the struggles some might be having with juggling different inputs are not experienced here. We also haven't found the TV to be all that slow to boot, either. It's not instantly on like some TVs, but it's also no longer than about 5 or 8 seconds until it is ready to use. It took that long for our old LCD TV to warm up anyway, so those 5-8 seconds aren't really lost on us. We do appreciate the light weight and also appreciate that the supporting feet aren't out at the very ends of the unit as is common. The TV case is just about as wide as the small bedroom chest on which it sits, so the outboard-mounted feet would have been a problem for us. We've enjoyed products from both Sharp and Roku in the past, and this joint venture seems to have produced a great product.

returned before opening
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Didn't quite catch that this unit probably wasn't a good fit for someone who did not use any kind of streaming. Plus the remote is weird for regular tv use.

Some things are a pain.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Selecting the channels is rather difficult. You can't put in the channel you want. Also it lets you connect to the Internet but so far I'm forced to pay to have access and I already have the internet. I'm not pleased with ROKU. It immediately asks for my charge card and I'm a member of YouTube and Amazon. Not what I expected.

So far what I expected except...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this as a second TV for our travel trailer. We wanted something that got over the air signals but could also connect up to our tablets to watch movies when not at home. This is also called Screen Mirroring or Casting, It works for that, except in Netflix. For Netflix, it doesn't do the mirroring but wants you to login directly. I spent considerable time with Sharp/Roku support to be told to contact Netflix which I did and despite trying to help, we couldn't get it to work. I hope that some firmware update will eventually fix it. Right now, I have to hook up a Chromecast to cast Netflix which just seems silly since it is already a smart TV... Beyond that, it was easy to setup, the picture and sound are clear. The remote is kind of a pain to work with, but for what we use it, it is not that big of issue, but I could see it being a problem if it was our primary TV.

Excellent TV for bargain price!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the interest of full disclosure, I use this tv only for streaming content so I cannot comment on the tv's other functions (gaming, cable/satellite hookup). However, I'm VERY happy with this product. Picture quality is perfect and tv is very easy to use (both in set up and day to day use). Videos at times can take maybe about 10-15 seconds or less to load, but honestly that doesn't bother me - considering I paid less than $200 for it it's a small price to pay (pun not intended)! I haven't had an issue with sound quality or volume (but to be honest I live by myself so I never need to put the volume up very high in the first place). I also love Roku - it has lots of free & paid channels to choose from. Honestly, if you're looking for a reasonably priced tv that you're looking to stream content with, this is the tv to buy.

Great TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a new tv - it's been years since I've bought a tv, so when a trusted source told me to get the 32" for my little apartment, I did. No questions asked. And then I read the reviews. Oh man, a tv that has Roku had to be a bear to figure out and ... a slow turn on time, I nearly canceled my order. When I got the tv, the 32" size really is perfect. If you are into size the 40+ might be better. For the extra $ that it takes to jump to that size, it might be worth it. But I'm more than happy. I sit about 10 feet from the tv. As for the slow turn on times - I'm not sure why people complain about it. Mine's fine. Sure it returns to the home screen when you turn it on and off - so what lol? When I got to setting it up - holy cow. Talk about easy. I was shocked. Answer a few questions and away you go. Being the apt provides cable, I need to have a tv, but I watch most of my entertainment via the net and in 30 minutes, I has all my accounts set up. Netflix looks WAY better on this thing than my computer! Moreover, stations complimentary on this thing are great. PBS for kids for example, you can pick episodes rather than watch live. Nice option. If you are thinking of getting additional sound to add to it - do it. You need the bass. But if you aren't into bass, don't worry about it - the thing gets way loud. Just not deep. So yeah, I'm happy. The only gripe I have is that adjusting the color is a bit lacking. There are only a few settings and you have to figure out the best combo(s). I'm not a fan. I prefer the array of settings. For under 200 bucks though - great picture! Finally, they say you can open your Roku account without a Visa. I couldn't figure out how to do that. Which is ok because I wanted the account. But if you don't want too...

not happy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.asked salesperson if this Roku TV would be compatible with a standard non-HD verizon box. Salesperson said it would be. We had to have both Verizon and the TV manufacturer help us get a full screen and in the end could not get a picture size to fit the screen. We have a TV that we had to have the manufacturer zoom in the picture but we loose the bottom and sides. Not happy

Really great and not just for the value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my elderly aunt who was using a 24 inch tv that she could barely see from across the room. She'd have had a heart attack if i bought anything bigger so this was perfect size. Set up is easy and it perfectly supports OTA (Over the Air) as a part of set up and made it easy for her to transition. She won't pay for cable (although she does pay for internet service) and was only getting 5 channels over the airways with an antenna. She is now getting lots of streaming channels via roku. She now is getting more for her money with the internet service fee. Two things to consider for you is whether u can deal with a remote thata doesnt have numbers on it. This was perfect for my aunt who just scrolls up and down. She only has 5 channels so she is scrolling only thru 5 channels. If you want more, you'd need to consider a tv with a different remote or figure out if your cable provider's remote can be tuned to change the channels for when u are watching cable. The second thing to watch out for is if it is important for you to be able to change the settings for the size of the picture on the screen. Some shows aren't in 1080, so you will be watching them in theatre-style mode by default (can't remember term), where the show is wide horizontally, but has some black on top and bottom of the screen. There is nothing in the settings that allows you to adjust for the resolution or picture size. I do wish that the roku software would provide a setting for this in one of its updates. I would imagine they will. This would not be enough to stop me from buying it. Just sharing my observations of what might be an issue for people. Finally, the sharpness and brightness and volume of this TV is perfect. The sharpness blew me away.

Poor Design and Picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The picture resolution within the Roku app and channels is awful and there appear to be no options to adjust it. Content streams in low resolution as well. This isn't a problem when connected to a 3rd party device like Apple TV. It seems to be just the Roku interface and apps.

Incredible Roku TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had the SHARP Roku TV for over a week and am very satisfied so far. The sound is excellent, bright screen and very crisp detail. Roku set up was easy, no problem. I'm getting the hang of the Roku remote that comes with it--you have to adjust as the remote is used for everything. The volume controls are on the side which is pretty convenient on my end. Get the TV if you're looking for a 32" TV, integrated streaming device, great sound and surprisingly awesome 1080p view.

One Big Flaw
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the most part, I love this tv, but I want to mention 1 huge drawback that I wish I knew before I bought the tv and anyone who is considering buying it needs to think about this thoroughly before buying the tv. When you buy the tv, it comes with a Roku remote. The Roku remote does not have any numbers on it, so the only way to change channels with the original remote is to go up and down. If you have a small cable package, this shouldn't be a problem, however, if you have hundreds of channels, this is extremely annoying. If you are thinking that you can just buy a new remote with numbers on it and use that to change channels, think again. It will not work. I have tried this with a Logitech Harmony and you still are not able to enter numbers. I have asked around about this and apparently this is a built in feature of Sharp Roku TVs. You cannot go directly to any channel no matter what remote you have. You can only change channels by going up and down. This is a feature of the TV itself. This is the main flaw of the television. If you can live with that, then the TV is fantastic. I had a run of the mill smart tv before this one and it was fine, but it did not come with a lot of apps. One thing that I really live about this Roku TV is the interface. It has all of your apps and your different inputs on one home screen, which is really convenient. I really like the search feature, where i can look up an actor and see a bunch of their movies that are available. Overall, the TV is great if you can get over the big flaw.
