This was my checklist when I purchased this TV: - Reliable brand - High quality (1080hd) - Big screen for small room - Low price - Not smart TV, because I'm gonna buy a Chromecast. And this TV has matched all of my requirements. Plus after 10 days of use, I can't complain anything about it's quality. This TV will be the best choice if it comes with a little discount.

The picture on this television is clear and sharp which is great. The colors are also brilliant. I am also glad that there are ports to connect other devices to this set. Purchasing this set was a good choice!

I purchased the Sharp 40" LED HDTV to replace my Sony 40" LCD I've had and loved for 7 years and still in great condition (giving it to my brother to put in the basement for his teenagers). I wanted the same size but with an LED screen (didn't want Smart) to pull less electricity and this fit the bill. Lovely picture, using an antenna, blu-ray player and the cable box. The sound isn't bad but I use the stereo speaker system hooked up to it. When I do a quickie without the stereo I just turn the sound for the TV on , turn up the bass and the volume on the TV and I'm good. When I use the stereo sound, I turn the TV sound off. The three HDMI's are a must for my living room viewing with this TV as I have a Roku, Blu-ray player and the cable box hooked into it. The HD antenna is also hooked in for days when I want to watch the over the air channels that are not on cable. In NYC I can pick up 60 to 70 HD channels. The best of both worlds. This TV is a steal for what you get and we are very happy with it.

Was looking for a 32" tv for the toy room to complement the PS4 ... but came acrosss this 40" for the same price. Nothing extra ordinary ... found the picture as expected. Tue sound is very loud and clear as compared to the other brands I had. The menu and remote controls are very basic. Great as a second tv for the price and features

This TV was a great deal for what you get. I purchased it for my bedroom to replace an old 32" Olevia LCD TV whose HDMI inputs had stopped working, and I couldn't be happier with it! It has 3 HDMI inputs and a crystal clear picture. I have it mounted to the wall (it takes a standard VESA mount), and I mostly use it for watching streaming video with an attached Amazon Fire Stick. There are a lot of audio and visual options to mess around with for perfectionists, but for the average user, it works well out of the box. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the TV speakers, which are functional but not great. There isn't a lot of bass here, but that's pretty standard for speakers on a budget-level TV these days. The speakers don't sound overly tinny, though, and they work well enough for a bedroom or for someone who just wants to hook up a TV and forget about it; audiophiles will want to attach a sound bar or more complex surround sound system. Overall, I'm thrilled with the TV -- I feel like I got a fantastic deal!

We bought this TV because of the Sharp brand and the appropriate size. Picture quality is pretty good, but not top notch, but mostly just because the refresh rate is only 60 Hz instead of 120 or 240. I certainly don't regret this purchase because it balances quality with the price better than some other brands.

I bought 2 of these TVs just before Christmas at only $199.99 each. For such a large TV with 1080p it was too good to be true. I asked the BB associate what his thoughts were and he all but said it was trash. We decided to take it anyway with the thought that we'll open one right away and use it and return both if it wasn't what we expected. It performed great! There are better quality pictures out there but you'll pay $150 on top of the $200 to get it. The speakers are great (no soundbar needed) so these fit in the bedrooms great. We are streamers (no cable) so I can only speak on antennae and PS4 and FireStick usability. We have not had any issues with any of them. Great picture and video on all. My only gripe is that I still have not figured out how to automatically change back to antennae when a device is turned off like my Sony Bravia does in the living room. But this is a minor issue. I guess I'll just have to use the input button like they do in some 3rd world countries. LOL JK.

I purchased this tv for our patio and so far it's great. The only problem is the speakers aren't that great. They're still good, but not Awesome. I bought a sound bar to add to this, but that's it. Picture is great, and it's nice and light weight. Bought it on sale, which was a plus.

I bought this TV recently because my old Samsung finally gave out. This is a great TV for those who want a TV that is just a TV. I am a cord cutter and long time user of ROKU. Given that the newer smart TVs are as yet untested over the long haul, I don't trust that the manufacturers will keep software updated over the next few iterations of technology. Therefore, should the technology change, I can just buy a newer Roku instead of replacing the whole system. This was a solid choice. The picture is perfect for my small TV room. I also have an old set of Boese speakers that I am not ready to replace. This TV is one of the few newer ones that still has a headphone jack, so my speakers will still work with it. I would recommend this to anyone who wants basic high def television without a lot of the new bells and whistles.

I bought this TV for my nephew he is estactic and so am I. It fits perfect in his room. I was really undecided at the beginning but I am so glad I chose this sharp TV. The colors are rich and the definitions are exceptional. Honestly wish I had purchased one for myself...

Great price and well known brand quality of picture was excellent and the set up was very easy. I have cable which has given me quality picture on the TV. At the time of purchase I was not looking to buy a TV but a 40 inch the price was not one I would leave on the table.

I bought this for my 84 year old mom whose cable company was switching to all digital broadcast. She had an old big tube heavy as you know what television and although she was sad to see that go she transitioned well and is very satisfied with the size, picture, and how easy it is to operate.

    Good Budget TV

This is a good budget 40" TV. The picture is solid, but it definitely lacks the bells and whistles of higher priced models. As others have stated, there are no buttons on the TV other than power on/off, so you must use the remote (or your cable/satellite/harmony remote) to control the functions. This replaced a 10 year old 32" Sony Bravia, and certainly the picture is MUCH better than what a 10 year old TV could produce. Viewing angles are great. Sound is mediocre at best, but if you're using a home theater or soundbar it's not something you'll miss (there is an optical audio out, as well as RCA and headphone outs). For the sale price I paid it's 4 stars, but honestly I can't say that there's anything that really sets this TV apart from the others in this price range.

Upgraded my son's tv for his birthday, great value when I originally purchased. After I set it up, my wife and I both commented that what a great picture, and price. If you are looking for an inexpensive and yet great quality tv, don't look past this one
