Great Tech Support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.So I bought this brand new smart tv for my college apartment, and I am less than thrilled with it. I read all the reviews before purchasing it, so I thought it was going to be a great deal, I was wrong. As I was trying to set up the tv to the school internet, the tv froze on one screen. I called Tech support for Sharp and they were incredibly helpful, but apparently there is no way to reset your tv with a frozen screen. This tv was a waste of money, but I am giving it two stars because of the incredible tech support I received from Sharp. I will be getting another tv from sharp just because of their tech support, I am hoping that this tv was just a bad one in a crop of good ones.

Great TV expect for the sound!

I find myself turning the TV up just to hear it. I do not have a hearing problem either. The TV is easy to set up, navigate, and the remote is simple.

Great TV,did not last a week
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TV kept rebooting after one week of purchase. I did a factory reset which TV seem to be find. Once i try to connect TV to a WiFi network.TV begin rebooting itself again every 5 minutes. I called Sharp who told me a new TV should not be rebooting and how its probably a power supply issue and to return TV back to Best Buy. Now i have to take this 43 inch TV back which weighs a lot. This is the first time i brought a LED TV that did not last a week brand new out the box for a name like sharp. not satisfy,especially after hearing all the great reviews about this TV

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like previous reviews have stated, the tv does get blurry occasionally as well as restarting itself but it isn't bad enough to return nor does it bother me. The blurriness lasts a few seconds and only seems to be while streaming Netflix so I assume it's a connection issue. My xbox 360 freezes up occasionally on netflix in another room so it further points it to that issue and not the tv itself. Kind of like while watching youtube videos and it buffers for a second and goes back to normal. Well worth the price.

Broke After a few days

I received this television as a Christmas present and it only lasted a few days. Extra warranty was purchased but it doesn't seem to be much help. Geek Squad came out and replaced the panel on the television after a few weeks of waiting for it to come in. Once the panel was replaced the television still wasn't working. The technician told me the "board" was bad and that I would have to arrange to get that replaced. I called Geek Squad to arrange this and waited on hold for 30 minutes. After someone answered the phone they couldn't find any history of my account or any records that the television was serviced. The woman asked if I minded that she place me on a brief hold and after about 5 minutes of being on hold she hung up on me. I called back and spoke to someone else who was actually very helpful. He found my account and all the service records almost immediately. He then told me that someone would call me back within an half hour to set up an appointment to get the board replaced. I NEVER received this phone call. Best Buy will not let me return the tv for my money back or even store credit until they service it a minimum of 3 times. It is very disappointing that Best Buy's customer service is so bad and that I have a brand new television I cannot use!! Be careful when purchasing an extended warranty from Best Buy their customer service is horrible!

Not working
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.It's been hardly 1 hr since i got this TV from Best Buy and I'm unable to use it so far. Initial setup was ok, after connecting to the internet, it downloaded an update and let me finish until the channels were downloaded from my Roku account. Since then it has never been able to remain connected to the internet. In a span of about 15-20 mins, it has restarted automatically for every operation i try including changing themes, brightness control and other menu settings. Finally i had to do factory reset and yet it has not been able to connect to the internet. It can't find my wireless SSID and neither does it allow me to configure manually. As of now all i've is a big lemon piece. Not sure why such products are launched into the product to rip off customers or if it's a software update why they're released without testing. Absolute bad purchase as of now.

Defective
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this TV at my local Best Buy last year. It was replacing a functioning 42" Panasonic Plasma. My plasma was/is still working, but it was an early generation plasma TV, and lacked HDMI inputs. As opposed spending a significant amount of money on a component/HDMI converter for a old 720p TV, I decided to buy a TV with HDMI inputs that was 1080p. I decided to limit my budget, as technology is advancing quite fast, and prices are dropping just as fast. My intent was to get a Samsung or Sony, but after seeing them in person, I thought the Sharp LC-43LB371U had the best picture for the price. I left the store, looked up the reviews, and they were solid, so I went back in and purchased the TV. I got home and set up the TV, which was relatively easy. However, expect to spend about 30 minutes setting up the wi-fi, linking your Roku account, downloading minimal channels, and scanning for channels if you hook up an antenna. The picture is good. Like I said, it was better than most in the store that day in the $3-$400 price range. However, the picture lacked the contrast of my plasma. It also does not look as natural. Disappointing that the TV's these days are still struggling to get a picture right and can't compete with an older technology from a decade earlier. I was willing to do the trade off though, as components these days such as Blu-ray players, gaming devices, receivers, etc. use HDMI, and rarely have limited, or no other options for hook up. At this point, it's a 4 star product, but the reason I give it 1 Star is because the TV will reset itself. I'll turn it on and it will be at the choose your language screen. From there, it takes 30 minutes to set up, and that's without tweaking the color/sound/settings etc. The issue of the TV resetting itself only happened a couple of times in the first 6 months. Now, this has happened to me 4X in the last week. It's very frustrating having to waste 30 minutes setting up a TV, only to have it happen again the next day again. My other components on the same line are not having this issue. Most likely, this will be my last Sharp purchase. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to rectify this tv's issue of resetting itself.

Wish there was a ZERO star option

The picture was great and no complaints until we got about 4 months past the warranty period. It go to where it would not stay on. We'd power it on and it'd stay on for about 1 second and then poof. It's garbage now. No more Sharp anything for me.
