Don’t listen to the nay-sayers

I read the reviews (some good, some bad) before purchasing this tv. Yes, the speakers face backward. This is not so much of a big deal because don’t we all mount or place our tv on a wall (sound thus being redirected forward). I already had a sound bar, so I chose to use that.
Regarding the Roku sign up...didnt HAVE to provide my cc information to sign up. This may be because I already had a Roku account. However, there is an option to skip entering this information. And then tracking your viewing choices...why is this such a big deal? Your phones and computers already do this (ever notice how FB ads are somehow geared towards something you just showed interest in)?
And yes, the power button isn’t immediately visible. FYI...it is under the bottom left hand corner of the TV screen. Push it twice,l to choose the power off option. Just leave it because it will power off in 5 seconds.
Overall, this was a smart purchase, and I don’t honk anyone else will be disappointed

I gave it 4 stars just because of the speakers. You really have to put it really high and i normally don't watch my tv very loud to be considerate with my neighbors so if you like it loud consider buying and additional set of speakers. It was very easy to put together and set it up and you do not pay anyone. I did have a Roku account already in my other tv so it was a lot easier to set up. I love Roku and the amount of channels that you can add and remove, screensavers, free channels, etc. Highly recommend it and i bought on a deal of the day for $199.00 which it was the best part and love it.

I was in the market to upgrade my Roku box to an Ultra until I saw this deal for basically $150 more. I needed a new TV (had old one for over 10 years) and couldn't find a better reviewed 4K, Roku-included TV at the sales price I paid. TV was a cinch to set up physically. However, leave plenty of time for software upgrades and (re)logging into your Roku channels (30-60 mins depending on how many Roku channels you have). Once that's done you're golden. I was also surprised to see that the TV's remote controlled the volume on my sound bar as well. So I went from 3 remotes to 1 (yay!). Picture on streaming content is awesome. My Xbox games look great as well. I opted to hardwire my internet connection instead of using WiFi. Even still I get a slight (3-5 secs) lag as streaming content renders to the higher resolution. Overall I'm very pleased with the TV so far and would definitely recommend buying it.

The picture is truly crisp. Amazing. And I would normally not care about a cheezy remote, since I have had Directv for 15 years, and can program that remote to work all aspects... but THIS TV, and another Sharp with Roku, default to a selection of cable versus antenna, and all downhill from there. I programmed the remotes, as I have for 10+ TVs over the years, and still need two remotes. I will return the TVs before I will have two remotes, despite picture clarity. Or Sharp can tell me how to address this! Since the TV itself is awesome...

Great TV! Price and features can't be beat

I bought this TV for my bedroom a few weeks ago and I must say, I really like it. The picture is really good, clear and crisp. The app feature on this set is awesome. Since purchased, I've added a bunch of apps providing me with plenty of options for shows that I'd like to try out or binge watch.
I also like the power button on the bottom left that provides you with a different option every time you press it. It's more than just a power button. There are also different settings that you can choose as to how the TV powers up. In other words, when you turn it on you can choose whether you want the home screen, tv, blu-ray player or any other device connected to automatically be displayed once you press the power button.
The only gripe I have is that the blue LED power button light is fairly bright in a dark bedroom. I'm looking into getting the dark black LED dimming stickers to cover it up (and some other bright LED's in the family room).
Other than that, I have really enjoyed this TV.

Perfect TV for bedroom

I have an older Sharp 60 inch Smart TV in the living room, and needed to replace the 24 inch flat screen handed down from one of my kids' dorm rooms for my bedroom. This 43 inch 4K Smart TV with Roku is perfect for the bedroom. The Roku Smart TV is much easier to use than my older 60 inch Smart TV. Easy access to Netflix and Amazon Prime (I need the Firestick for Amazon on the older Smart TV downstairs). Picture and sound are great so far, too!

Great 4K tv for small places

Got this tv as gift. I was not expecting much at this price point.
first to clarify this TV has HDR at least the logo pops up when HDR signal is fed, i have tried amazon prime and it works with HDR signal.
I have not connected any 4K devices to it yet. not any plan to add any as this in guest room.
I have connected antenna, all local channels tuned in few minutes. it has a pause function for local tv if 16 GB flash drive connect to USB port.
Roku is built in so if you have roku account it will bring all your apps signed in. Roku interface is fast enough not as fast at rook ultra, no deal breaker though.
PQ and settings are limited but enough for most people. I set picture to movie mode and PQ is OK in my opinion, if one has sound bar it decodes DTS as mentioned in specs, I have not verified it. Sound is OK for small area, sound bar needed if you need better dialogue from movies, speakers performed well when I used the higher bass option, there are quite a few to pick from.
I have not noticed any issues with WIFI using 4K streaming, I have apple Time capsule router wireless AC.
For price it good 4K tv.
well all round tv at this price point.

Good 4k TV - Good 4k Computer Monitor

I am Linux Household, and look forward to using Gimp @ 4K on this TV. This is 2018 and I can not believe computer monitors are still more expensive than a 4K TV.
Why 4K Netflix video is available only to Intel/Microsoft is a Monopoly and should be illegal, but I guess it took a lot of bribery cash for that to happen...
But the Quality of 4k via my wired router is outstanding playing on this tv. I can only knock on Wood that it will last as long as my 2011 Vizio 28 inch 1080 resolution TV lasted.
Only problem with the Roku TV, the remote was on the same channel as the Vizio. Power up the Sharp Roku TV with the remote, it also turned on the Vizio TV. Turn off the Vizio TV with its remote it turns off the Sharp Roku TV. Off and On works the same on both remotes, but Vizio and Roku remotes do different things to the different TV when using other buttons or movements. Called Sharp support and they say it is impossible, and the Roku remote can not change frequency. Since the Vizio is from 2011 could not find paperwork to see if the Remote and TV could be paired to a different channel , nor does Vizios new owner offer any support now for this sony made product.

Listen, I’m not a big tv person. My tv is mostly to keep me company. With that said, last week I broke my tv accidentally. At the time I had a 32”; I decided to get a 43 4K this time. The tv is great for the price. I have no real complaints. Buy the tv!

Great picture but lacks controls

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I agree with most of the reviews posted. The only drawback I found is there is not a way to change channels by just putting in the channel number (using a universal remote via OTA), you have to scroll through the menu which is time consuming. There are lot of channels on OTA which I don't watch, but I have to scroll through all those channels (you can't add/delete channels). It turns out that this TV was built mainly for streaming. Also, it does not give any control over the sound such as treble, bass, etc. You also can't do a lot with the picture controls I admit I am still working out everything that it does. Like I said, great picture (I could see the printing on the football even though it was in 720p!). If you're looking for a TV with a great picture at a good price, this is the one. Also, it doesn't come with a user's manual, only a quick start guide. I found one online but its not any better.

Bought this as a replacement, didn't want to spend too much. Found this on sale at $199.99. TV works great and so does the Roku. Only criticism is that the remote is a little too simplified, but works fine. Definitely satisfied with the purchase.

I read many reviews before buying this TV. It has great picture quality and is easy to set up and navigate. One big problem for me. I bought this for a vacation rental. With this Roku TV, you have to sign in with a Roku account to make this unit work. I cannot expect my tenants to go through this process for a short term rental and I am not going to sign in with my account, allowing others to order all kinds of content with me left holding the bag. I am hooking up to satellite for our rental and this Roku feature just does not work for this kind of use. Otherwise a great TV. Sorry to have to return it. We do use Roku for our personal TV and love it.

I first bought another 43 inch Vizio at Walmart. The smell was so bad; I re-wrapped and returned.
The nice salesman at Best Buy was extremely courteous—I forgot the young kids name. We looked and compared all brands and tried to look for "Not made in China". This one is made there, but it didn't have that crazy garbage smell of the Vizio.
The setup is so responsive and snappy. I just use an antenna.
Up pops the Chargers/ Chiefs game. HOLY COOL! It is so amazing in 4K!
This thing is beyond lovely!!!!!

crackling noise

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Just purchased this yesterday. Everything seems good and has an AMAZING picture. However, when the TV is powered off for about 5 minutes it starts to make a faint crackling noise or sparking noise. It is a constant sound not very loud but it is like a constant sparking sound. Only when the TV is off. It does not do it when on. Tried different power strips, plugs, cables, no speakers, different outlets, still does it. I read it might be the plastic contracting due to heat or cold but it does it constantly for hours upon hours. The thing is I originally bought an Insignia and returned it and bought this Sharp one instead since it has a better 4k picture instead of my original Insignia which was only 1080p. I dont want to haul this thing all the way back. Everything ive read said that this is bad but I am just not too sure. If anything I might get this exchanged for the same one at a different store since maybe its a bad batch. IDK. Everything works fine otherwise. I took a video on my phone of this issue with the sound being quite distinct but I dont think I can post it here. Such a hassle to return stuff ugh. I just am not sure if I should though.

I have had this TV for 3 years now and it still is a great purchase. The sound is good once dialer in with the right preset. It is bright, so I recommend only 70% on the backlight to minimize raised black levels. Sharpness at 0. HDR works and auto low latency kicks in when needed. All in all, a great buy.

Nice Upgrade, Great Price

I upgraded from a 32" 720 to this monster. Suffice to say, it's a game-changer. This TV is beautiful, the speakers are quality, and the remote is idiot-proof, all good things. I use it primarily for PS4 gaming, and I'm very impressed with the overall experience.
The only con I have is the glare, since the screen is pretty glossy; I'd recommend little to no backlighting when gaming. Other than that, it's a great purchase.

This is a nice smart TV at a great price point. I ended up gifting it to a friend when I wanted to cut back on my TV watching but I later wanted to have it back and had a little regret for giving it away ha!
