$320 for a 4K UHD HDR smart tv sounded like a good price especially at 43”. I expected much more from this tv but I’m disappointed. The picture quality isn’t anything better than my old 720p tv I replaced. HD channels look the same as the old tv. The picture quality only changes for the better when playing an Xbox One game that offers HDR. Regular tv and Netflix all look the same as the old tv. Also it’s very very annoying to have to pick the hdmi source every single time I turn the tv on. How is there not an option for auto default to a source when turning on? I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this tv for anyone unless your expectations are low.

This TV worked really good for a couple of years, but now it is a lot slower and sometimes kicks us out of Netflix.

    HDR is terrible

Decent, inexpensive TV if you want to watch HD across platforms (TV, DVR, Netflix, Prime etc.) But here's the problem -- quality of 4K picture is terrible on Netflix and Amazon Prime. Yes. IT. IS. TERRIBLE. Once the TV identifies 4K programming, it will flash a strap on screen saying you're about to watch HDR. As the anticipation grows, imagine your shock when all you get is a dark, dull, insipid picture. I have tried everything (changing picture settings to adjusting "EXPERT PICTURE SETTINGS"). Nothing. I've had the TV now for three weeks. Will take it back to Best Buy and exchange for an OLED TV. Apparently all Roku 4K TVs have this problem. PLEASE, PLEASE, do your research or you will be disappointed with 4K/HDR output.

While it was working it was fine. Found out $200 plus parts to repair but if it needed a new board, it wasnt even available by Sharp. New TV was the only way to go.

    Audio problems

I’ve had this tv for about a month and a half. I was very happy with it at first, but now every time I turn it on a new cable channel starts running in Spanish. The main reason I even have cable is for Disney jr for my daughter. A few days ago I turned the tv on and Disney jr was in Spanish. I checked all the settings and could not fix it. I called sharp customer service twice and was told that I needed to call my cable company because the problem was on there end, despite the fact that I told them my other tv was not broadcasting that same channel in Spanish. The only other assistance they offered was to factory reset the tv, which initially fixed the problem, but it reverted back to Spanish when the episode changed over. Not only that it has been giving what sounds like play by play on some other stations, reading aloud closed captioning actions( ex: Gordon Ramsey laughs and shakes head). I’ve checked all the audio settings I can and reset the tv 3 times. Very disappointed with this purchase.

Good picture, good sound. I loved this tv. However, It lasted only 18 months and then got numerous yellow lines through it. Repair company said not worth repairing. This tv was used no more than 6 months total in a seasonal rental house. Very disappointing that it went bad shortly after warranty!

    A Serious HDR Problem

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The problem with the TV isn't the quality or the interface. The problem with the TV is one that it has in common with its company. When you look at all the material for this TV nowhere does it say that it has HDR. Let me get this out of the way now, I WAS NOT LOOKING FOR IT. None of the settings initially showed that it had HDR at all. However whenever i came across HDR content ( the number is steadily growing in streaming services and in games.) The quality of the picture would suffer. The picture would get washed out. There would sometimes be a grainy texture in the picture. So let me say this one more time I don't want HDR. I feel like i have to repeat myself because the customer service for Sharp kept reassuring me that my TV couldn't possibly have it. It's just not there. Yet that little box on the top right corner of my screen reading HDR kept showing up and telling me different. So yeah its true, absolutely the TV does not have HDR. At least not a standardized version of HDR. One that is incompatible with the growing selection of HDR content. I don't know, I don't care. I wanted to turn it of, that's all i wanted. I just wanted a fix but Sharp, just like the TV and the marketing of it- feels like one hand doesn't know what the other hand is doing. If you buy this TV it'll work wonders for 4k content, but as we approach a time where 4k becomes affordable and accessible, HDR will eventually become synonymous with 4k. It's made a curse out of HDR, and funny enough, it's the future that haunts it.

The sound is very poor. Speakers are in the rear and it can't be heard without a soundbar (maybe mounted on a wall sound would bounce off?). More importantly the volume was very inconsistent between channels. Always had to adjust (maybe something I was doing wrong in settings?). Not the TV's fault but anything broadcast in less than 4k has terrible picture quality. Most cable television and Youtube vids are in 1080 HD which play terrible on 4K (too many unused pixels).

This Sharp TV had a nice 4K picture and beautiful HDR, unfortunately the one I bought had a defect with the backlighting causing black streaks to appear on screen whenever the camera would move against a uniform background. Therefore I can't recommend it.

This TV was awesome for 1.5 years. I actually bought the 32" model as well because I loved this TV so much. However, after 1.5 years it stopped connecting to Wifi and cannot find any networks. I was told the Wifi card could be bad. It's $100 for Best Buy to even look at the TV - not worth it. I'll just buy a $25 Amazon fire stick instead. Skip this tv and buy a better smart tv!

Bought TV in November. Never even set up the Roku, just had the cable box & PS3 plugged into it. Multiple times I would lose picture as the screen would go black and the TV would seem to reboot. At first the picture would return quickly, then one day it didn't. I called Sharp customer service. They said a tech would have to come to my house to fix the new TV. How would that help me with no TV currently? Then they instructed I do a factory reset and that work at the present time. The customer service rep then tired to tell me the problem was fixed and the TV would be fine. I told him I wasn't so sure but we'll see and sure enough after 2 weeks I'd lose picture again. Nothing yet has been set up for Wi-fi for streaming. I'm plugged in "old school" like and I'm sorry but no TV should have to be factory reset after a couple months just to keep its picture. Sharp has lost a customer because for $250 its not worth my time sitting on the phone again with CS.

Ive had this TV for 4 days and already I have to take it back to the store. Anytime I try to switch the viewing to cable the language choice menu comes up and won't allow me to watch cable. I did tech support with Sharp and they said it was not fixable. Such a pain to have to remove from the wall mount, take back to the store and re-install!!!!!! I pray the second will be better!!!

    It suddenly turned off

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Like many others everything was good, but after a year of using it suddenly turned off and never came back. While speaking to support they believe that the problem is with the power source but that the product doesn't have warranty anymore. I can't believe that a tv with that low use is not good anymore, and they do not take responsibility for it. The apartments where we live where built in 2009 and to be sure I have it connect it to a brand new multiple outlet, so the problem obviously has to do with the low quality on the parts. It's a shame, this never happened to me before with others brands I had

    TV died after 15 months

This Sharp TV worked fine for 15 months and suddenly turned off as we were watching it a few nights ago. Called Sharp customer support and tried holding power button for 30 seconds then unplugging it as per instructions and it won't come back on. Since it is more than 12 months since purchase and I did not buy an extended warrenty, I now have wasted $300 for a television. Since I live in the Virgin Islands an extended warrenty would not do me any good as the cost to pay shipping both ways for this tv would negate any free fix they could do for me. No more Hisense nonsense Sharp products for me.

I'm so disappointed with the tv. At first, it worked fine, and we were generally happy. However, within a month of purchase, it has stopped connecting to the internet. it will recognize the slower of my networks, but not the 5G one. As a result, it's more or less useless. I spent a hour on the phone with Sharp technical support to end up with nothing. And, it's too late to return it. So frustrating!!! I've noticed similar complaints with this tv, so do yourself a favor, do not buy!

This product sucks. The menu brightness on the ROKU OS is too bright - even on the DARKER setting. You can control the brightness well for individual streaming video, but they don't allow this granular level of control for the roku menu and overlays. VERY DISAPPOINTING ROKU!!!!!!
