Love the TV - but BIG ISSUE WITH SOUND

I read the reviews and found several that reported a constant whistle when the TV is on, even when muted. Since there were so few I went ahead and purchased the TV. I loved how easy the wall mount brackets attached. Even came with the screws. It's great how the plugs are situated so that they don't stick out and push on the wall. The picture is great, clean and crisp! However... a BIG however; there is a constant whistle (almost like a teapot boiling) hum when the TV is on. It wavers ever so often, but never stops. If you are watching TV with a lot of music or dialog it isn't as noticeable, but as soon as there is a quiet moment ... dang! That is all you hear. I'm about to call Sharp because I do like the TV and really don't want to take it off the wall.

Open Box let down
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I guess I should've known better than to order an open box item; the TVs picture is beautiful and overall everything seems to function properly, however it was shipped without a power cord - luckily I had a spare that fit so I could power it up - and HDMI port number 1 does not work. This item was advertised as certified 100% by the Geek squad; doesn't say much about their abilities. As previously mentioned, I should have known better; what a letdown.

Good TV

It has a good picture and plenty of inputs for all my devices along with digital audio out. The sound from the TV is not the best some times depending on what's playing, but I have a sound system so it does not bother me that much.

Horrible Startup Noise

Took it out of the box, plugged it in, and it started making the worst high pitched whistling/crackling sound. Think of a tea pot whistling combined with white noise. It goes away after a couple minutes, but even when you start putting sound through the speakers you can still hear it. Going to return it and try again. Otherwise the picture is tremendous, and it looks very nice.

poor picture quality

We noticed that the graphics and picture quality has a fuzziness around the edges that our old plasma did have. We called our content provider and the result is the same after reseting the receivers. However when connected to our laptop the crispness and sharpness is stunning. We are at a loss on how to fix the problem.

High pitch whistling sound

Blacks are great with little to no flashlighting or backlight bleeding. The bad: Colors seem off. Skin tone is a bit too orange even after you calibrate the video settings. The real bad: High pitched whistling sound coming from the rear of the TV. This happens with all inputs and when the TV is muted so it has nothing to do with the speakers. I may have to return this to the store.

Red pixel Stuck in the middle of the screen

don't buy an open box

The last 3 months it has been in and out of manufacturer for repair. At first the picture would just go in and out and flicker until I had no picture, just a black screen. Spent about 3 weeks waiting for it to be repaired. Got it back and the screen filled with snow, sound didn't work and then it wasn't even picking up my blu ray player through any of the HDMI ports. So I am without a TV yet again. I live about an hour and half away from a best buy and customer service was less than helpful. I wanted to mail it in and they said no i had to bring it to a store and there was nothing they could do. very disappointed in overall service and expected more from best buy, even if it was an open box item.

Great TV EVER!!!

OK Picture, TERRIBLE Sound

Died One Month After Warranty Up

We had no issues with the tv for the first 3 years, a month after the warranty was up, one side of the screen got darker...and the whole screen turned black after another 2 weeks of watching tv. I would say that we watch less tv than the average family, so having it rendered useless after this long was very disappointing. While the extended warranty from Best Buy would have been useful, it was roughly half the price of the Tv! Just replaced this with a new Samsung and it looks twice as good!

Clear picture, nice sleek design

Very clear picture, and nice color tone. (which can also be adjusted in the settings)

Do not buy this unless you want a disposable tv

They bought this for the streaming capabilities. We have had this tv just over 3 years (extended warranty just up) and we are watching it this Sat am and the picture suddenley goes black, just sound. We go through all of the usual checks, had no power surges or outages, rebooted it, etc. Still nothing. I turn it off. The next day we decide to use it as a radio for the news and after 10 mins - no sound. Turn it off and back on the sound works but only for a few mins at a time. We have owned a lot of tv's, only 1 ever broke, just upgraded over the years. Seems all things are mean't to last 5 years or less now a days. I'm glad my kids didn't spend a ton of money purchasing this as this is the quickest I've ever had a tv go but the timing is extremely terrible as I buying a new tv is not something I can buy for quite awhile. Very, very disappointed in this product.
