Refurbished unit did not work

Since this was a refurbished unit I had my reservations about buying this TV. However, this was supposed to have been Geek Squad certified, according to the BB online site. Therefore, I took a chance by purchasing this unit (since this was $50 less than the New in-box item. When I opened the unit and connected to the power source, there was a huge black vertical line right in the middle of the TV. It was more than 6 inches wide. I promptly returned the unit to a local BB store and bought a Vizio E Series smart TV. So far I'm very happy with it, even though I spent an additional $176 on top of what I had paid for this broken TV ($284). Every employee in the store seems to have a "lot" (if you know what I mean) to say about this TV. I used to love SHARP TVs when it used to be manufactured in JAPAN. Ever since they stopped producing this in JAPAN, the quality has gone down real bad.
