at $179.99 black friday price , i've died and gone to heaven with this tv. much improvement over my 7-year old samsung 3d 51" plasma tv, which was still working great. 4k programming, once it becomes the norm, will be awesome on this tv. check out 4k programming on netflix. costs $4.00/month more, but may be worth it. and hopefully redbox will soon have 4k available for rent at a reasonable price.

screen gave out after 2 years besides that amazing tv for the price wouldn’t mind paying again maybe with a warranty

Wanted an extra TV for "The Big Game" and for the bedroom. 43 inch too small for the game and 55 too big for the bedroom. So we went with the 50 inch. The picture is great we run the PSVue and Antenna. The off air look fantastic. The sound could be a bit better and the set up was intuitive. The issue with the standard Roku Remote is no numbers so you cant punch in for over air channels.

Image and sound are decent. After a few days the remote that came with the TV started acting up, when I push on a button once it continues to act, for example push on volume up/down once will make the volume goes up/down non stop, or pushing any other button does the same or pushing a button will result in no result at all. I do not know if the problem is with the remote or TV. The app works fine, but you can not turn TV on with the app after it is off for a long time so you still need the remote control for that. I called Sharp technical support and they give me a troubleshooting that I found before I called it didn't work. If anyone has a solution for this please reply to this review.

The tv is a great upgrade for us. We are able to watch movies and stream videos or games at higher quality. The Roku is an added bonus as we don’t need a separate remote and can connect to various apps. Sound does need to be higher, as others have mentioned. Buy a sound bar if you really want that high quality theater sound. Otherwise this is a great tv.

This is a good tv, great picture quality, pretty easy to use. The first one I got from the store stopped working but they replaced it and the current one is working great. YouTube isn’t on the apps but can be addded easily. I don’t think you can browse with the tv but browsing smart TVs is always slow so I just use the computer hooked up to Chromecast.

TV has a great picture. It has 3 speakers on the bottom & the sound is very good so for us there's no need for additional speakers. Looked at this TV & the 43" TV but chose the 50" due to being on sale. Remote & TV is easy to set up & use. Very happy with our the TV & Roku.

I have bought 2 of these and they are great and low priced. I have no complaints . The roku tv is amazing . Will buy more in the future. I have had good brands like Samsung and LG and Sharp is just as good for a better price. Can’t go wrong with this TV.

I purchased this to replace a sharp 1080p hdtv, first went with an insignia returned for a toshiba both of which were absolute garbage! So returned the toshiba after 10 mins of viewing and got this, I have a 7 yr old 32” aquios that’s beautiful and this tv is just as nice. Not as nice as the $1000 Sony but at $299.99 with a $40 5 yr warranty I’m super psyched over this purchase! I would definetly recommend this tv but get the plan as my last sharp only lasted 40 months and had no service plan. The pic is nice sound is good too compared to other hdtvs I’ve owned and it has a great black level in shows/movies that take place at night. Roku was simple and free to register and sign up.

This is a great TV with great picture. I highly recommend it. I had searched several TVs when looking to buy and this one is great. The roku allows you to download apps like Netflix, Hulu, MLBTv, etc so I was able to replace my AppleTV with it!

So, I got this TV as the bargain of the century on black Friday, but even if I had to pay the full price, I would be pretty impressed. I thought having a smart tv would be a gimmick, but certainly Roku has made it good enough that I can literally imagine a future where we would broadcast everything thru the internet. It was incredibly easy to set up and get all my accounts ready (Youtube, Amazon Prime, Netflix, Crunchyroll...) This TV replaced my non-smart 32" on my living room and is making me consider to install a Roku device on my older tv for my bedroom. The image quality is very good, although a little bit on the warm side. I tried changing the set ups and the cold colors are too blue. The sound quality is pretty good for a stand alone tv, but I am certainly considering a sound bar.

I am a big movie/tv watcher, but with a budget. I did not want to spend so much money at the moment. I found a couple of other tv's around the same price, but I decided to go with this one due to the reviews and specs. I really love this tv. great color, image, and sharpness. I do not know about the sound because I bought a sound bar which i hooked up right away and has great sound. I love watching moves now. I have not used the 4k function other than watching 4K videos on youtube but even then the videos are amazing. My friend has an LG 4k 60 inch, and hers does look a bit more colorful and brighter but her tv ws $800 so this tv is worth it for the price coming from a picky tech guy!

Great picture, I like the ROKU platform, but are you kidding me with this remote?!?!?! You can't program it to control the soundbar (TVs sound is tinny) there are no numbers for typing in the channel you want on cable, there are very few settings for sound, picture, etc. I'm going to try a universal remote off of Amazon, but I don't feel like I should have to.

I have a fine Sharp Aquos 1080p set for the bedroom, but wanted to replace the old living room set with a new 4k UHD set, and this 50 inch Sharp was just what I wanted. The color is outstanding and the Roko capability has not been used yet, but will be in the near future. The DTS sound system gives new life to surround sound compared to older receivers and this new set is a great value in this screen size class. I thought Sharp was giving up on the N. American market, but was happy and pleased that these sets were available, and the brand still has a presence in the US. If you buy this set, I am confident you will love what it does for your viewing pleasure.

Easy to set up, picture is great. If you have Direct TV and want to program the remote, the codes provided by DirectTV didn't work. The one for my Panasonic did work. That code is 10178. Good luck.

I was looking into a budget big screen TV for this holiday season. Very similar TV on other discount stores had quite bad reviews, claiming broken screen at the time of arrival. I am so glad I had checked other sites. Even price was little bit more at BestBuy.com, as other reviewer already mentioned, shipping component was steady. It was double boxed. The site had instruction on setting up and how to take TV out from box, etc, which I could view at the time of purchase. So we could prepare. Picture quality and sound are good. I had another Good Buy at BestBuy!

Great deal, amazing picture quality, but I am having a real issue with the volume. Its not very loud. I have the volume all the way up to 100, but it is still quite low. I had the same issue with the 43 inch Sharp Roku TV I bought last year and I struggle with the sound/volume. I dont think I want to struggle with both tvs in my place! I just set it up tonight and I will give it another day or two, but I may return because of the volume. :-/
