It serves that purpose very well. Sharp is not quite the company they used to be so we'll see just how well built it is and how long it will last. I've got a sharp TV in our bedroom that we bought years ago and it still works flawlessly. Honestly it was probably the best TV that I've ever purchased. So only time will tell with this one. Thus far my son loves it.
