We hooked up the TV and we found some one else's wifi account save on the TV and a lot of white streak lines across the top of the screen. Had to send it back.

Not a "smart" idea to buy

HUGE TV Great Picture, Tons of Options, Expensive

Its much much bigger once its in your living room! Its huge I was surprised how giant it really is. This is a replacement of a 65" Sharp TV that was a lemon and they upgraded me to this one for free, which I really appreciated but Sharp Customer Service is really terrible in every contact I had with them it was awful. This TV has a very cheap remote and the same old confusing menu structure Sharp has been using for 5+ years, its annoying to click and dig and click some more to find settings that are often buried deep in some unrelated Menu. The picture quality is good once you wade the the layers of menus to find the option you want. Not to dwell, but Sharp seriously needs to create a new interface that isnt so frustrating. I also found the HDMI Ports to be annoyingly fussy. I couldnt get my existing cable box to work on any HDMI port with the same cable I had been using. Same with the Roku stick - I dont know why Sharp HDMI ports are such a pain I think it has something to do with auto sensing or signal timing (?) So I tried 3 other cables and finally the cable box would work, so did the Blue Ray Player, but no the Roku. I gave up. There were also a few issues connecting my MacBook with HDMI to this TV. It seems once again like there's a problem with the HDMI Ports sensing devices correctly. But once I got past all of the that, the built in Apps are nice and very fast the Netflix app worked great. All in all, I think this TV is overpriced even though it is 70", I would have went with another brand after all the problems I had with their 65" if the best buy exchange policy wasn't so stingy.

Great picture, easy setup

Definitely needs to be hooked up to external sound such as a sound bar. Picture quality is awesome and I haven't even tuned it yet. We have it wall mounted in a 13' x 17' room and picture is very good at all angles. The auto brightness works very well, we have a large window in this room and glare is not an issue with it even in bright sunlight. Bluray movies are just fantastic and even network TV is good. We have had it up and running for 2 months and have no regrets. can't wait for football season to start should be really great watching on this.

Great TV

Crazy beautiful picture and save over $600 by not including the 3d option. Really if you think about it with 3d tvs you need the right receiver, 3d DVDs , and 3d glasses. For me the tv looks like its 3d because of the 240hz technology. Buy this TV you won't regret it !!!

Great Tv well worth the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good picture quality, smooth images, nice online interface, easy to accesse settings, does have somewhat of glare when light hits directly and sceen from angle but thats expected, overall very satisfied no issues yet purchased 3/23. Have not tried speakers on tv as i have it hooked up to 7.1.

Best TV at the Best Price

I don't think it's worth going 4k UHD yet, and with this TV having a 240 refresh rate and subpixels, you're not going to get a larger/better picture for your money!

Not worth the special wi-fi feature.

The next day I woke up and the wifi no longer worked. I called Sharp and they walked me through the steps and it did not fix it. They offered a new TV. AFTER months I finally got the new TV mid Nov. From day one this TV does not have wifi. Called Sharp back again and found out its a firmware update issue. It is a known issue with these tvs and now 8.5 months later still waiting for this firmware update for the wifi. Had to buy an ethernet cable to use the SMART part of my tv. Not worth the frustration of hoping one day they can fix it as we all know sometimes someday never comes or comes too late. BEWARE!

Good Picture Quality poor Wifi connectivity
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this TV for my media room based on many reviews stating that the TV was very good and the picture quality was excellent. After about a month of ownership, below is my take on this TV. My likes -Out of the box the, the TV proved to be really good in terms of picture quality, and with a little tweak in the settings, I found my sweet spot. -TV has enough inputs to handle all my sources. -Very easy to setup and get going. My Dislike What's the point of getting a smart TV if one can't use any of the features? From day one, the WiFi meter only showed one bar even though my router is about 30 feet away. I was willing to overlook this issue since the smart features were still working, and you can't really blame a TV for not having the best WiFi antenna. Fast forward to 3 weeks later and the WiFi no longer works, which means no more smart features. I haven't tried running a wire directly from the router to the TV, but the fact that the WiFi stopped working after just 3 weeks is ridiculous.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.was just browsing through and they had this marked as an open box item for 1617$ but it still had the plastic tie bands on it and never been opened. I was confused because new it was on sale for $1599. So I spoke to the sales lady and she had it re adjusted to $1439 open box even though it wasn't open box. So got a great deal and the TV is great. All setup and loving it.

I love the features and how the TV senses the light changes in the room and re-adjust the colors. Sharp you guys did an excellent job building and bring us a great product.

Best TV I've ever owned

I thought 70 inches was too big at first, but now I almost wish I had a 100" TV. I finally feel like I really get the full immersion I was missing from previous TVs.

Issues with WiFi and streaming

Had I looked into more I would have seen the known issues connecting to WiFi. Multiple reviews state this issue. Plan on hard wiring this to get internet. I had to purchase a WiFi extender. Still waiting for a call back from Sharp's WiFi Dept. Most disappointing is that Sharp Support claims I can not stream a movie thru my Home theater, sound is only available thru the TV speakers. Really? Unacceptable for a TV in this price class. Hopefully this can be corrected. For now, we stream thru the DVD player. Overall I like the TV. Still tweaking the picture settings but it was acceptable out of the box. I probably would not recommend this TV to someone who is heavy into streaming movies.

Easy to set up and great picture

Only took about 10 minutes to get it hung on the wall and about 10 minutes to go through the TV set up. Watched some football and it was great and now my son is playing his PS3 and it looks great too.

Do not buy!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this tv in Nov. 2014. In Feb. 2015 had a blue line run vertically down the tv. After contacting Sharp, and sending them the required pictures, they offered to send a replacement REFURBISHED tv. After spending this much it is hard to believe that after 3 months that is how Sharp stands behind their products. I accepted the offer and after waiting almost 2 months for the refurbished replacement to "become available", received it. Now less than 2 months later the replacement has an 8" wide light band running vertically down the screen with a pixelation effect that is different than the picture being viewed. Contacted Sharp once again, sent them the required pictures once again, and was contacted and ONCE AGAIN was offered a replacement REFURBISHED tv. Now after going through that entire process once, why would I want to do it a second time? So after explaining this to the Sharp customer service person, I am waiting to see if any other offer is made to make this situation right. Bottom line....I WOULD NOT PURCHASE THIS TV!!!

DO NOT BUY SHARP
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had TV for only 20 months, only used a couple hours a night, TV went out and it's the LED panel. Sharp admits its quality issues with LED panel but won't replace. Search 70" + sharp on google and you will find hundreds of people with the same issues, and no resolution. A tv you pay over 1000's for should last longer then 2 years! BEWARE

Had only 5 months and tv picture has lines through

I called sharp and they wanted me to send pictures of screen and receipt. They did send email back and said tv can not be repaired and gave me number to go back to best buy to have it replaced. I am glad that we bought additional warranty but didn't need it yet. So cudos to sharp for standing behind there product and replacing this tv.......Robert van

Really wanted to love that TV but...

But once I installed it and started watching HD content, I immediately noticed the colors were not right. Spent days playing with the settings to no avail. Used different calibration methods. Nothing seemed to get it right. We also have an older Samsung 55" and a Sony 52" in other rooms and I had never had any problem like this with those. Finally gave up and I am returning it for a Samsung 65". Maybe I just got a bad set? Oh well...
