personally superman is my guy. man of steel to me was what superman needed. and when people complained about it this movie is the result. it's light hearted and funny but the action is meh and muscle effects look wierd and at times creepy.

In my opinion this was just an ok movie. It had some funny parts but the story line was forced and uneven. This is a renter; I would not recommend a purchase if you don't absolutely love the actor or character. My family felt the same way.

I had no desire to watch this movie at all! There was nothing to watch so myself and my husband decided to go for it. We were pleasantly surprised! Better story than expected. Saw it on sale, figured we needed it for the collection

We all have a superhero inside of us -- it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In 14-year-old Billy Batson's case, all he needs to do is shout out one word to transform into the adult superhero Shazam. Still a kid at heart, Shazam revels in the new version of himself by doing what any other teen would do -- have fun while testing out his newfound powers. But he'll need to master them quickly before the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana can get his hands on Shazam's magical abilities.

When I was a kid Billy Batson was the kid who said SHAZAM and turned into Captain Marvel. Now the two are separate with DC owning this one and Marvel owning Captain Marvel. Not to bad but I wish it was as originally written.

I loved this movie the first time I saw was in the movie theater and then I liked it so much I decided I had to own it. Anybody who’s a DC Comic fan should watch this movie. This is one of the greatest superhero movies I’ve ever seen. And if you collect great movies like me you really should add this one to your collection. Definitely it’s worth having on DVD or Blue-Ray or especially worth having on 4K UHD Blue-Ray.

I need to watch this again. I keep dosing off. I personally think Marvel does a better job telling stories and also developing characters. It's not horrible but it's not as good as I thought it would be based on the trailer

Picture quality is awsom in 4k. Sound great with surround sounds. Can't watch without surround soun.

This movie is average at best. I liked it I just felt that some stuff was rush. Fight scenes just were not that good to me. In terms of fights I was hoping to see something like Man of Steel but overall the movie is okay.

In yet another effort to re-calibrate the DC universe, this movie is one of the more light and fluffy ones. Make no mistake, it’s a fun movie but it’s not the best of the best. Audio/video quality is very strong.

Good, comedic, telling of the “Shazam” origin with a good performance by Levi (who reminded me of a younger Tom Hanks) and some great scene chewing by Strong. 3D effects made it come more alive. Worth the watch.

The best DC comics movie to date. I went in apprehensive because the trailer made it out to be very silly. While those scenes are in the movie, the movie is not pure comedy and strikes a reasonable balance between plot and comic relief. Zachary Levi is outstanding here as the kid suddenly given a somewhat buff adult body and super powers. I love that a 3D blu-ray is available for those with 3DTVs.

I missed watching this Shazam movie in the theater, but saw the recent Shazam-fury of the gods in the theater and was hooked. If you’re looking for humor in a super hero movie, then this has it. Zachary Levi is hilarious. This movie surprised me and exceeded my expectations.

Being a huge comic book fan, I was already in the bag on this one to begin with. BUT, David Sandberg knocked it out of the park with one of the most fun superhero movies in a crowded market. Again, if you saw the title above, this is basically what if "Big" starring Tom Hanks met a superhero movie. It's fun, whimsical, and has a lot of heart. Check it out. It's the DC Universe on the right path. Can't wait for the sequel.

I wanted to like this. I wanted the DC Extended Universe to work out and connect. I was under-impressed and kinda bored quite honestly. I will watch it again when I have nothing else to watch.

After seeing "Wonder Woman" and then "Shazam!" in the theater last year, I was a lot more excited to see what comes next for DC movies. It has a lower budget than a Marvel movie, and lower stakes, but in many ways that made the film a lot less reliant on special effects and grand world-ending MacGuffin plots to keep my attention. Instead, the script has a lot of heart, the actors have a lot to work with (and Zachary Levy does great with it), and the film ends feeling much like a pre-MCU superhero film, in a good way.

I like the storyline this has to offer. A teen boy looking as to where he really fits in the family while looking for his birth mom. Contains the struggle of life to reconcile dreams with reality.

An origin story that didn't get bogged down by itself (like every Batman movie.) Funny & Zachary was perfect for the role. A great DC flick that doesn't require eyes being covered all the time.

This movie is fun. My children enjoyed it. The main character needed some work. Overall it wasn't great but i still enjoyed it. Keep trying dc. I believe in you and America believes in you too.

Pleasantly surprised by this film DC is definitely up being their game cinematically the cast is exceptional and brought Shazam to a whole new level for me I was excited to see Best buy have the lenticular Blu-ray edition for under $7 there's some very sweet moments that are touching and might make you tear but that's okay cuz that's what real Cinema should be all about great storytelling
