If you are a 13 year old boy or even a 44 year old that thinks like a 13 year old, youre gonna like this movie. The sound and visuals were great on the 4k disc as well as the blu ray disc. The story was a little far fetched but its a superhero origin story so yes of course it is. There is a lot of fun along the way with him and his new family. I wouldnt recommend for under 11 years old, but fun none the less.

The picture on this 4K movie was really good. Colors pop, crystal clear image. Definitely worth the 4K purchased, especially at 19.99 on sale. reviewing the movie itself, surprising that I liked it as much as I did. Don't know a ton about Shazam, but very enjoyable and Zachary Levi did a better job than I thought he would have done in this superhero role. Highly recommend for any DC comics or superhero fan.

It's one of my favorite DCEU movies by far. It's different from every other superhero movie by having the family element as the main plot line. It has a little bit of that DC darkness throughout and is extremely comic accurate. The behind-the-scenes features made me appreciate this movie so much more. It's full of heart.

Another good offering from the DC franchise. If you know the 80's movie Big, then think of that movie's plot but with pros and cons of having super powers added. The lead actors do very well in portraying an adult super hero with the mind of a teen. It makes for a more humorous as well as serious movie. Recommended.

I always need my action movies in 3D. They are getting harder and harder to find in the US. Every where else in the world they are available, but the availability of 3D movies in the US are very limited because 4K is so popular. I'm very happy that Best Buy had this in 3D. Please don't stop selling 3D movies Best Buy!!!

A long standing super hero character from 1939, SHAZAM! is every kid's wish to say a magic word to become a super hero, and it is done with the fun and zeal of being a kid with an adult's body...This is a total 180 degree turn from dark and grim to fun and light hearted. It is definitely for the entire family to enjoy!

For those who don't know, Shazam was called Captain Marvel in the comics before being charged to Shazam. Shazam is a great movie, with a great casting choice in Zackary Levi. Movies has great action, is funny and has some heart. If you see one superhero movie this year watch Endgame. If you see two then watch Shazam.

This movie is funny and full of heart. Along with being a fun superhero film it also doubles as a window into how the foster system should work and what it means to be a true family. I saw it in theaters and had to buy it to share its inspiring message with my family and friends who missed out on its theatrical run.

This isn't the greatest superhero movie ever but it is a solid entry. I would buy it again if I had it to do over again. If they do make a number two (hope they do) I hope they try not to make it quite so humorous. I enjoyed it in the first one but I think the character needs to evolve a bit to get a number three.

It started with Aquaman, then Shazam took it, and ran with it straight to success. Marvel may be light years ahead of DC, but movies like this are proving that they aren't dead yet, and still have a horse in this race. Awesome movie with a great message and great effects. Worth watching and worth the purchase.

Wonder Woman is a fantastic movies....however Shazam doesn't take itself too seriously where Wonder Woman did, which is where Shazam! pulls out ahead. It knows it is a silly movie and it leans into that and the results are something that lead me to seeing it twice in the theaters and buying the steelbook here.

Given the rather silly source material (by most standards) this movie was definitely better than I expected. Good balance between action and humor mixed in with some more serious themes. Especially audio quality on the UHD release was standing out- great purchase if you are looking to showcase your new setup.

Wow! What a great 3D presentation. It looks even better than Cinema. It’s been a while since I’ve been shocked how good a movie looked in 3D and this one is definitely better than any previous DC movies in terms of 3D. Last time a movie looked that great was probably Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon. Must Buy

This movie was shot with Arri Alexa Mini & SXT cameras and finished at a 3.4k Digital Intermediate, so you will get a bit of an upscaled 4k image for this release. As per the norm with UHD releases, it was also given an HDR color grade for your viewing pleasure in both Dolby Vision and HDR10. When it comes to the grain levels, there’s a light layer present — the only time you’ll see it consistently is in the Hall of Champions with the work of atmospherics. There are a few soft shots during a few night scenes, but nothing to poke at — even though this film was shot digitally I felt like there was a bit of a filmatic aspect to it, but maybe that was just me. This is another case where the HDR plays a bigger factor than the upgrade in resolution with UHD. In Shazam! the HDR adds its touches of work in almost every frame — you will see heightened textures on rocks, walls, pillars, buildings, asphalt, etc. You will see this a bunch of times in high action scenes and every time lightning is in play, it looks amazing. On top of this, the black levels hold true to tone in various scenes in the car in Chapter 1, scenes that take place in the Hall of Champions, under the darkness of night, etc. Don’t get my wrong, it is a jump over the Blu-ray in all aspects, including resolution — it’s just that the HDR steals the show. When it comes to those details, you will notice more on the UHD like the scale textures on Shazam’s suit, wool on gloves and other pieces of clothing, plus the sweeping shots of snowy Philadelphia look great too! You will get some up-close shots (something that UHD shines in) enhancing pores, wrinkles, blemishes, facial hair, cuts, and sweat — just not in abundance. Something I was worried about with this disc is the question of: would the CGI hold up? The 7 deadly sins monsters are full-blown CGI so I was worried the added resolution and HDR would enhance the fact that they weren’t actually in the shot. Good news! Warner Bro’s did a great job on the rendering on this film, it’s not distracting at all. Chapter 7 reveal looks great and the up-close detail can be noticed when the opportunity arises. One highlight that I noted was a scene that took place in Chapter 9, the scene where Shazam saves a group of citizens on the bus. It’s a very clear, high-quality scene that showcases the red suit against the bright white snow from multiple angles. The HDR shines pushing color, brightness, and detail all over the screen. Eye-candy. I’ve read mixed reviews on this movie, but nothing too negative — it varies from very positive to right in the middle. I’m on the very positive side of things because the movie knew exactly what it wanted to achieve, and it did just that. The way I would compare this movie to those who haven’t seen it; it’s Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. It isn’t at the level of Guardians, but it’s DC’s lighthearted, funny superhero movie — something to take away from the dark and serious nature of previous films. I hope we see more Zachary Levi as Shazam! for not only a sequel but with other DC heroes on screen. With all that in mind you easily have my recommendation to pick this movie up, it’s a great addition to add to your UHD collection.

I was a little hesitant to watch this. Honestly, it looked and sounded stupid. But, I was wrong. It was, sweet, funny, heartwarming, a little scary for the little ones at some points and just all around good. I very much enjoyed this movie and am actually upset that I waited so long to give it a shot.

Yes, finally-this is a super hero film that is comical, for the family, and heartwarming. This can be a therapeutic movie for those who have experienced bullying and loss in their childhood. It's looks and sounds amazing in 4k and it's got some great action and humor. 4k quality is top notch all around.

Unlike the Justice League movies, Shazam shows a human superhero as a young boy finds himself endowed with superpowers as he struggles with issues of growing up an orphan. He learns to overcome those barriers to build a family and save the world. This is the best DC movie they've put out in a long time.

    A Fun DC Movie

This is definitely one of the better entries in the Warner Bros. DC Universe. However, it does over-draw on the humor a little; eventually becoming tedious. If the went just a little darker (although not as dark as some of the DC entries) it would have probably been the best DC movie so far. However, the hero and the villain were both well acted and the action scene were pretty well done.
