Not the perfect fit
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When they're sitting correctly and not slipping, the sound quality is great. But the tapping is so off and the fact that I have to adjust them to sit correctly in my ear to hear them is rather annoying. It shouldn't be this hard to use earbuds.

One of the best clip on earphones on the market
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a very low expecation for open anything earbuds. And to be a clip on to boot, I really did not have high hopes for good audio. I was mistaken! The drivers actually deliver some solid and serious sound! I am not sure if it's the Dolby setting but the overall sound has more body than I thought it would have. I expected it to be tinny and very quiet. The box has a very minimal items. Nothing more than a shortie USB C to USB C to charge it. Oh and I fogot this has wireless charging! A neat feature, but I guess I would use it if I was out and about and needed to reverse charge from my pixel phone. But I normally do not use wireless charging on earbuds. The shokz app they recommend you using is average. I like there's a customizable EQ, but whenever you edit anything, the earbuds turn off and on, like a soft reboot of sorts. Kind of annoying. But once you have it set or use one of the presets, it sounds great. The bass is just enough but not like in ear buds but it's good enough. And also gets loud enough too. The touch gestures take a little bit to get used to. Especially the pinch on each side to lower and increase volume. However, on my phone changing the volume of the headset only changes the headset and not my phone, which is weird because when I also paired it with my PC, the volume changed the computer system's volume, not the headphones. Also in my initial use after a firmware update, the headset touch controls did not work until I toggled some settings to wake up the connection. I am pretty sure that's just a software issue. One thing I cannot forgive is that there is no Left or Right side indicators. You would think they would because they have assigned controls for each side, like increase volume pinch on the right and decrease pinch on the left. When I initially tried it, I actually had it backwards! This is one gripe that I will deduct a star rating for, well that along with the soft reboot when changing EQ settings. The battery is decent and charging is pretty quick. When doing some light stretching, I could easily wear them and perform the stretches without issues, no fear of the clips to shake off. Would I recommend them? Yes! But if you need to determine the left or right side, it's a toss up. The site says you can use them interchangeably but why assign the sides?? Other than that and the slight reboot when changing settings on the EQ, it's a one of the better sounding clips I have heard.

Not worth buying at Best Buy
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The fact that Best Buy sells this $10 more expensive in some areas and without including the carrying case included by other sellers is not worth buying it here. The leather case is necessary in order to avoid losing the earbuds from time to time.

Clear sound, comfortable fit, nice ambient awarene
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very nicely packaged and charge up and hold that charge for a long time. The case is a nice size and fits well in the hand as well as in pockets or bag. Very sleek looking and the pairing and instructions were very clear. These fit so nicely I almost forget they are there - no discomfort from in ear plastic or rubber plugs. Running or walking doesn't jostle them loose and they look cool. The sound is great on calls, music or podcasts - bass when I want it, but clear mids and treble as well. I know noise cancellation was all the rage for a long time and when it came out it was the new thing. The ability to still hear surroundings clearly is awefully nice too. I can hear the door bell, someone coming up on my left on a bike, or just people in the house trying to get my attention. In a nutshell, these earbuds are very comfortable, they have excellent sound clarity without being tinny, and the ability to still experience ambient environmental sounds is actually a huge benefit - I can enjoy a podcast or some music and still be aware of what is happening around me.

Fantastic bone conduction ear buds!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a tech enthusiast who loves trying new audio gadgets, the Shokz OpenDots ONE caught my attention as soon as they launched. I’ve been testing these wireless open-ear earbuds for a few weeks, using them during runs, bike rides, and even at the office, and I have to say they live up to the hype. First off, the design is unlike typical earbuds – OpenDots ONE are clip-on open-ear buds that sit just outside your ear canal, so your ears stay completely open. Shokz is known for bone conduction headsets, but interestingly the OpenDots ONE use air conduction with their DirectPitch™ technology rather than bone conduction. In practice, that means each bud has a tiny speaker that directs sound toward your ear, and clever venting to minimize what others around you can hear. The result? You get music and podcasts that sound surprisingly full while still being fully aware of your surroundings. On my first run with these, it was almost eerie (in a good way) – I could hear the traffic and birds, yet I also had a soundtrack playing clearly. For safety and situational awareness, this open-ear style is a game-changer. No more choosing between hearing my music and hearing the world around me. Comfort and fit are outstanding with the OpenDots ONE. Each earbud is super light at just 6.5 grams, and they use a flexible nickel-titanium arc that gently clips around the back of your outer ear. I was worried they might pinch or bounce, but after adjusting them the first time, they’ve proven to be extremely secure and forgettably comfortable. I’ve done intense workouts and even shook my head upside down – these buds don’t budge. The soft silicone on the clip helps them grip without slipping or hurting. I often wear them for hours at work, and because nothing is plugging my ear, there’s zero ear fatigue or pressure. It’s actually easy to forget you have them on; more than once I caught myself reaching up to check if they were still there. Another neat aspect: there’s no left/right labeling – each bud can go on either ear, and they automatically detect which ear they’re on and adjust stereo accordingly. So you can pop either one on any side and it just works. This interchangeable design is convenient when you’re in a hurry, and it means if you ever lose one bud, the remaining one isn’t locked to just “left” or “right” use. Now, onto sound quality – which honestly surprised me. I knew open-ear earbuds would likely have weaker bass than in-ear models (since they don’t seal in your ear), but Shokz employed something called BassEnhancer (Bassphere) techand even support Dolby Audio processing. The result is that music has a rich, well-balanced sound for this style of headphone. The mids and highs are clear and crisp – vocals and instruments come through nicely. The bass is present and punchy enough; you won’t get the skull-rattling sub-bass of sealed earbuds, but for most music genres it’s satisfying and not tinny. Enabling Dolby Audio in the Shokz app actually widens the soundstage and adds depth – I was skeptical, but when I toggled it on, my playlist definitely sounded more immersive (and it didn’t seem to hurt battery life either). I’d describe the audio as “open and natural.” At 50-60% volume, I can enjoy my music even jogging by a moderately busy street. If it gets very loud around you, you might need to push the volume higher, but in normal environments these perform great. And because of the DirectPitch™ tech that reduces sound leakage, I tested this by sitting next to my wife at home – at my normal volume she barely heard a whisper of what I was playing. So they won’t noticeably annoy people nearby (as long as you’re not blasting them at max volume). Speaking of the app and controls, the Shokz app lets you customize the touch controls and EQ, which is great because the on-device controls have a bit of a learning curve. By default, you can tap the flat surface on the bud to play/pause or answer calls, and you can do a two-finger “pinch” on the bud (gripping it) for another function. Out of the box, one-finger tap was play/pause and two-finger pinch was volume control. I personally reconfigured the gestures (the app allows different presets) so that pinch skips tracks instead. Once you figure out where to tap or pinch (the area is a combination of the little battery pod and the arc – Shokz calls part of it the JointArc), it becomes second nature. It’s not quite as straightforward as a physical button, but it keeps the buds sleek and I do like that there’s no accidental brushing since a deliberate pinch is needed for some actions. Also worth noting: these earbuds have in-ear detection – if you take one off, it auto-pauses your music, which is neat. They also come with a nice compact charging case (oval-shaped, matches the two-tone black/gray earbuds) that supports wireless charging. I often just drop the case on my Qi charger at the end of the day, and it juices up without any cable fumbling. Battery life on the OpenDots ONE is excellent. Each earbud can last up to 10 hours on a single charge, and the case provides about 3 additional full charges for up to 40 hours total listening time. In my use, I typically charge the case once a week and I’ve never run the buds themselves dry in a single day – the longest I used them continuously was about 8 hours (work day with mixed calls and music), and they still had some juice left. Having that much runtime is liberating, especially compared to many true wireless earbuds that only give 5-6 hours per charge. If you do somehow run low, a 10-minute quick charge gives about 2 hours of playtime, which has saved me on one occasion when I forgot to charge them overnight before a jog. And as mentioned, the case even does wireless charging, which many earbuds at this price don’t include – I appreciate that touch of convenience. The case itself is pocketable and has a sturdy hinge and magnet; it’s a little larger than an AirPods Pro case, but still fine in a pocket or bag. Another positive for an active lifestyle: these buds are IP54 water-resistant, so sweat and light rain are non-issues. I’ve run in drizzly weather and of course soaked them in sweat during workouts – no problems at all. I just wipe them off after. I probably wouldn’t swim with them (and they’re not rated for submersion), but for general outdoor and gym use, they’re built for it. To sum up my experience, the Shokz OpenDots ONE have become my go-to daily earbuds for anything where I want to remain aware of my surroundings or avoid ear fatigue. They are fantastic for outdoor activities – running, cycling, hiking – because I can hear oncoming cars, people, or nature sounds clearly while still enjoying my music. In the office, I’ve found them great for background music; I can still hear if someone comes up to ask me a question. They also alleviate that weird isolation feeling you get with noise-cancelling buds – sometimes I forget I have them on. Of course, they’re not a one-size-fits-all solution: if I’m on a plane or in a very noisy environment, I’d opt for traditional noise-cancelling earbuds instead, since open-ear can’t drown out loud external noise. And if you demand heavy bass or absolute audio fidelity in a silent environment, an in-ear or over-ear set will outperform these. But as a techie who values innovation, I think Shokz nailed the purpose of OpenDots ONE. Below, I’ve listed some pros and cons to highlight where these earbuds shine and where they have limitations: Pros: - All-day comfort and secure fit: Ultra-light (6.5g each) and clever clip design – they stay put during intense workouts and you hardly feel them. No ear canal pressure at all. - Open-ear awareness: You can hear ambient sounds 100% of the time, which is safer for outdoor use and more natural for conversations. Great for runners, cyclists, and office wear. - Impressive sound for open-ear: Clear and balanced audio with Dolby Audio support for a wider soundstage. Bass is decent given the design, and sound leakage is minimal thanks to DirectPitch tech. - Excellent call quality: Dual mics with noise reduction make your voice loud and clear even in noisy environments. No complaints from people on the other end of my calls. - Robust battery life: ~10 hours per charge and up to 40 hours with the case. Plus convenient quick-charge (2 hours playback from 10 min charge) and wireless charging support. - Advanced features: Multipoint Bluetooth pairing (connect two devices at once), wear detection for auto pause, customizable touch controls via app, and IP54 sweat/weather resistance for workouts. Cons: - No passive noise isolation: In loud environments (e.g. busy trains, airplanes), you’ll hear everything around you, which can make it hard to listen unless you increase volume (not ideal). They’re purpose-built for open situations, not noise cancelling. - Bass and volume limitations: While sound is great for what they are, the low-end isn’t as powerful as closed earbuds, and max volume might fall short if you’re in extremely noisy settings or are a bass enthusiast. - Controls learning curve: The tap/pinch touch controls take a bit of practice, and some might prefer physical buttons. You’ll want to use the app to fine-tune controls and sound to your liking. - Pricey for earbuds: At around $199, they’re an investment. You can find cheaper wireless earbuds, but they won’t have this open-ear tech. (On the flip side, the direct competitor from Bose is even more expensive, so Shokz is actually reasonable in that context.) - Specific use case: These are ideal for people who need situational awareness; if you primarily listen in quiet places and want immersive sound or active noise cancellation, these wouldn’t be your daily drivers.

Changed my life
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay i was happy wirh my Samsung buds, but i was soop tired of that wax and sweat build up ajd gross feeling, not to mention the isolation from outside. I barely listen to music, my main use is calls and podcasts/YouTube. And this product is perfect for that. I leave them on and forget about it. So comfortable. I sleep with something playing in my ears and i woke up to 80% battery. They dont die just by being out of case, like my pixel buds. Also the transition between two devices is apple level good. I can pause media on one device and hit play on other, and it switches instantly. Im actually very satisfied. Music is also not too bad.

To wear the Shokz OpenDots ONE comfortably, pinch the joint arc, place the speaker against your ear's inner ridge, and the battery behind your ear, adjusting the angle so the arc is slightly downward and not too tight. Posted .Hi there- Shokz here! We're very sorry to hear this has been you're experience.
To wear OpenDots ONE:
1. Pinch the JointArc with your thumb and forefinger and raise it toward your ear. There’s no distinction between left and right ears.
2. Place the ball-shaped speaker against the inner ridge of your ear and the cylindrical battery compartment behind your ear.
3. Adjust the earbuds for a secure and comfortable fit. For optimal comfort, it is recommended to wear the JointArc at an angle of 0° to 30° relative to the ground. You can adjust this angle based on your personal preference.
4. When putting on the earbuds, open them gently and avoid pulling them apart too much. Use one hand to follow the steps above. Also, refrain from bending the JointArc excessively when the earbuds are not in use.
If you decide these are not a good fit for you, we kindly ask that you reach out to BestBuy directly to learn of their return policy. Thank you.

More than I expected
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are a different type of earbud than what I'm used to and their performance really surprised me. One of the problems I often have with earbuds is that they can get quite uncomfortable after extended use. The design of these earbuds practically removes that issue altogether. Shokz headphones are known for the bone-conducting style. I have a different set from Shokz, but never found them particularly effective when it comes to bass. These earbuds don't go completely into the ear canal, so I expected similar response. But these earbuds actually carry some good bass - at least much better than one would expect considering they're sitting just on the outside of the ear canal instead of inside it. The form of the earbuds clip on the rib of your ear, which is far more comfortable. The grip is strong - but not too strong, and I can move around quite vigorously without getting any shift whatsoever. Volume-wise, I don't find these buds too loud. Indeed, at full volume, I can't hear people around me; but if I put them at a more mid-level volume, I can hear others very clearly...and this is key when you don't want to drown own the world around you. The case is pretty basic. It's small, has wireless charging and the buds just magnetically snap into place. Oh, other thing about the buds: They're side-agnostic...there's no real Right or Left (although you might want to confirm which is which in your audio - if you care that much). This means I can just plop the buds on without worrying whether I'm reversing them improperly. Bluetooth connectivity was also just fine. Connection was quick and I had not problems keeping the connection. Other than that it's pretty basic - just what we're all accustomed to at this point. Simply put, I really LOVE these earbuds!

Great sound, great fit!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shokz OpenDots One are INCREDIBLY COMFORTABLE and offer impressive sound quality for such a tiny little device. The "pressure" on your ears when these are "clamped" on is negligible. It is very easy to forget you have them on. You can whip your head around without fear of them sliding off. The audio (music) is very "forward" in the experience. I can hear everyone else in the room, but the audio experience is similar to being in a room listening to a surround sound stereo system. You can hear everything around you, but the audio from the OpenDots holds your attention. These are not noise canceling headphones, so you hear the sounds around you, but ambient noise is not distracting. The sound is immersive, unlike some on-ear buds. The quality of music is solid. Surprising lows (bass) and crisp highs (treble). Volume levels are terrific. Touch controls are responsive. The fit is lightweight and comfortable. Managed to wear them on day 1 for at least 5 hours without any discomfort--which included a 30-minute indoor workout and a 30-minute jog. There was slight "redness" on one ear the next day but nothing painful. The buds stayed in place during the workout and run. Wind noise is negligible and no different than what you get from any earbud in windy conditions. The app brings instructions (such as the touch commands) into focus and offers other benefits such as firmware updates and an EQ for your music. I used the earbuds for a phone call and each party heard one another just fine. I was not a fan of the bone conduction wrap-around Shokz, but I absolutely LOVE the quality and fit of the Shokz OpenDots One. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND these earbuds to anyone looking for quality sound and a comfortable fitting, non-noise canceling audio experience. These could easily become my every day buds!

Posted .Hi there- Shokz here! We're sorry to hear this has been your experience.
Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the touch control issues:
1. Check for Firmware Updates: Connect your OpenDots ONE earbuds to the Shokz App and check for any available firmware updates. Keeping your earbuds updated can resolve performance issues, including touch control problems.
2. Customize Touch Controls: Within the Shokz App, you can customize the touch control settings. Consider disabling the single-finger tap feature, especially if you find it leads to accidental touches, and try using the two-finger pinch for better accuracy when controlling music or calls.
3. Perform a Hard Reset: If the touch controls become unresponsive after a firmware update or other reasons, a hard reset may resolve the issue.
If the issue persists, we have a two-year warranty on all Shokz, we'd be happy to assist you in filing a warranty claim so you can receive a replacement pair! Please contact our Customer Happiness Team so we can assist you further or visit our website directly to submit a warranty claim. Thank you!

Fantastic sound with a unique and comfortable fit
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a fan of Shokz products - their bone conduction, earless fit is great for me since I wear glasses and find over-the-ear headphones difficult and sometimes painful to wear. I have had at least two or three of Shokz's headsets for both work and working out and have been delighted with their sound, performance, longevity, and fit. The new Shokz OpenDots ONE Earbuds are a game-changer. These are sort of like a hybrid between in-ear buds, over-the-ear headphones, and bone conduction technologies all in one. First off, the fit is really, REALLY comfortable. The buds - which are not ear-specific - fit sort of like a clip on each of your ears. It took me a few tries to get the fit right and to make sure the earbuds were situated for optimal sound. Secondly, let's talk sound. I was NOT expecting these tiny little ear "clip" earbuds to deliver the sound quality they deliver. I consider myself somewhat of an audiophile and am pretty picky when it comes to sound. The Shokz OpenDots One Earbuds do not disappoint. The sound is rich, the bass is strong. Let's talk battery life. This also impressed me. I wore the OpeDots for a full day, a mix of dozen of Teams calls, a few traditional calls, listening to some music on a run, and watching the news on my computer. Battery life - still over 50% at the end of the day. Impressive, indeed. These are a game-changer, especially if you're like me and don't like in-ear or over-the-ear headphones. I haven't mastered the finger gestures, yet, but I am absolutely in love with these earbuds. 1000% recommend.

Not nearly as good as Shokz OpenFit 2
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will return these earbuds because the two ends of the structure are awkward to put on and behind your ears correctly, and when you finally find the best position for the part that goes near your ear canal it slips eventually which affects the clarity and volume, and the clip design gets uncomfortable on your earlobe. Additionally, they don't sound as good as the Shokz OpenFit 2 which I've owned for a while and enjoy even more than my Apple Airpods.

Quality Headphones Again from Shokz
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These have been the best sounding wireless headphones I've had in a long time! You just download the app, connect to bluetooth and you're ready to enjoy. The app is where you can change the EQ and turn on Dolby sound. You also can register for your warranty and change the motion controls all on the app, pretty nice. Sound quality is just outstanding, really comparable to bose and other great companies that put out great products year after year. The controls are pretty simple to use just like others they are touch controls and you can use your voice as well for commands. The fit for these headphones are different than most, these headphones clip on your ear and the speakers rest right in the ear canal. You don't push them in your earholes like other brands, which is really nice and trust me you forget they are even there. After i received these headphones I charged them up before listening to them and I got 10hrs of music, answering calls and normal day to day activity. I was a little shocked at the shokz performance. This company puts out great headphones year after year!
