COmfortable for all day wear.

OpenRun Pro Mini reviw
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is everything I had hoped for. During my workouts and runs, the headphones don't slip and stay in place. The sound quality was better than I expected for open-ear headphones. And I really liked that it came with a protective hard case!

The best open-ear earphones on the market
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Verdict: I have tried several open-ear earphones in the last two years, some with open drivers and some with bone conduction. Hands down, the Shokz OpenFit 2+ delivers the most comfort, secure fit, and excellent sound out of the last four sets I tested. They are probably not for you if you are frequently in loud environments and need to block noise, but if you want increased awareness of your surroundings while benefiting from great sound, the OpenFit 2+ is a winner! Initial impressions. They are very light! After pausing music for a while, I started to look for them on my desk, forgetting that they were still on my ears! I love that it doesn’t matter which buds you place back in the case first, they always fit. I was a bit confused about setup until I found the quick start guide; in short, place the buds in the case and then hold the button in the case until the light blinks, then you can connect through Bluetooth on your phone. The package includes a USB-C cable. It’s not clear what is the Ingress Protection (IP) rating; I assume IP55 (splash, sweat and dust resistance). Sound. At low volume, sound is not good, mostly because it’s harder to hear with ambient noise. At higher volumes, sound is very impressive: satisfying lows, balanced mids, and effective highs. Dolby Sound is wonderful with some types of music, drastically improving the clarity and the low-mid-high mix. I really appreciate bass boost, which I use on every earphones / headphones. As expected, with external noise, you will immediately lose the mids, and then probably all the sound, until the noise is gone. I am impressed that the “sweet spot” for the sound driver is quite generous; I usually just throw the earbuds on without having to carefully place them in a certain spot, and then they just fit where they are supposed to, and sound drivers are aligned where they have to be. App. I always care about the capabilities of apps because they can significantly expand the capabilities and convenience of earphones / headphones. The Shokz app is good (not great). It’s intuitive and front-loads all the important stuff: battery levels, equalizer (option for Dolby Audio), multipoint pairing, control customization, microphone noise cancellation, and additional settings. Additional settings notably include “Find My Earbuds” to play a sound that gets progressively louder so that you may be able to hear and find a missing earbud. If you are in close proximity, you will probably hear the high pitch, but if you don’t know where they are at all, this feature will not help you find the earphones. The app would be better if it provided greater ability to customize controls, automatic pausing of music when the earbuds are removed (may not be possible with open ear concept), maybe add wind detection through the microphone to automatically increase sound a bit, etc. Running / Exercising. I took these on an 11-mile run to truly test how they held up. First and foremost, they hardly moved during the nearly two-hour run. I touched the right earbud once to position it better. This is a HUGE improvement from my regular in-ear earbuds, which I have to push every 10 minutes on my right ear because the bud is slipping out from sweat. I ran in some rain drizzle, and this seemed fine for the OpenFit 2+. I couldn’t find the IP rating, but I assumed it was at least the same or better than the OpenFit 2 (IP55, splash, sweat and dust resistance). The open ear concept is nice for trail running; you can hear your footsteps, your breathing, and comments from other runners. It is also safer for hazards; I actually think that these earphones saved me from a collision with a bicyclist… I was checking my watch instead of looking up (yes, my fault), started to drift left on the trail, then heard someone yell, looked up, and got out of the way of the bicycle. If I was wearing my in-ear earbuds (with ANC), I don’t think I would have heard the warning. The downsides of open-ear are that when you hit windy portions or on windy days, you will lose most of the audio, or at least all the mids (can still hear bass and highs). I also ran pass a lawnmower… no way to hear the music unless you crank up the sound (too) high. I would not use these to run along a busy road because the benefits of hearing your surroundings would turn into a significant annoyance. Controls are very effective while running, with the physical buttons easy to find and press, and eliminating the accidental activations I have on my regular touch-controlled earbuds. Despite my reservations with high-noise areas, I plan to switch to Shokz OpenFit 2+ for all my trail running. I LOVE (1) not having to think about the earbuds falling out, (2) being able to hear other runners, (3) hearing music most of the time, and hearing required audio cues when I need, and (4) having great sound with great comfort. Features. I love the multipoint pairing capability because I can connect both my phone and my smart watch (for running with just watch and earbuds). Wireless charging is very convenient for us since we have wireless charging docks around the house. The equalizer and Dolby Audio are really well done on these earphones. You have the option to activate smart assistants if you want to use those from the earphones (see customization of controls). Things I love: - Perfectly comfortable; I can wear these for hours on end – exceptional! - Remarkable sound, especially for open-ear earbuds - The case can charge wirelessly - Dolby Audio is great, especially on some types of music - Handy and effective equalizer - Excellent for running - Great battery life from what I can tell from testing; looks like 10+ hours on a single charge for the earbuds, plus recharging from the case - The app is value added - Two-year warranty! - The touch controls work fine - Great for sweaty days when in-ear earbuds keep sliding out! - Connectivity to two devices - Very happy with voice calls on these earphones - 2-year warranty! Thank you! Things I don’t like: - Since you have to press a button on the case, setup is not like other earphones, so instructions in the app should be clearer; it should offer basic instructions as soon as you open it. Instead, you must select “Get Help” and go through the steps. Maybe rename the “Get Help” button to “How to connect”. - Serial Number font is too small, while the rest of the card is blank! Use the space and make it easier to read for all your customers! - Ability to customize controls is too restricted. I want the ability to customize the left very differently than the right to match the controls of other earbuds and headphones, otherwise it’s too hard to remember controls. - Suboptimal to use in loud environments or noisy activities (for example, running on a treadmill, running in windy conditions, sitting on a plane, or walking through an airport) Overall, the Shokz OpenFit 2+ are exceptional: awesome for running (in non-overwhelmingly noisy places), extremely comfortable, long battery life, and amazing sound. I highly recommend these earphones if you want greater awareness of your surroundings with amazing sound and comfort.

Best headset ever
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best headset by far. I can talk on the phone and listen to music and still hear all my surroundings. Using these for phone conversations are also easy for the other person to hear you because the background noise is not over powering like so many other headsets. They dont fall off and they cant fall out of your ear. They dont make your ears itch either because they dont go into the ear. They battery life is AMAZING!! 100% reccomend to EVERYBODY I talk to.

One of the most comfortable workout headphones
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.PROS: * Comfort (these are truly the most comfortable, lightweight headphones that I've used) * Battery life (around 50 hours, give or take) * Water resistant * Capable app and EQ SO SO: * Sound can be better (but limited for the type of buds these are) * Price ($200 for one of the best workout buds you can buy) CONS: * I wish they had ANC for music, but again, it's hard for this type of around the ear buds that don't actually insert into your ear canal) I've been a devoted fan of earbuds for as long as I can remember, trying out virtually every pair on the market, from budget-friendly options to high-end models that appeal to audiophiles. Lately, I've been using the Noble Fokus Rex5 for my music needs. However, I recently encountered a few issues while running; they tend to slip out and risk hitting the ground. Luckily, I've managed to avoid scratching them so far, but it's been a close call. That's when I stumbled upon the Shokz OpenFit 2+. These arrived just in time! They fit securely over the ear and don't go into the ear canal, making them more comfortable than any other earbuds I've tried. Plus, they're incredibly lightweight—I hardly notice them. They deliver impressive sound quality while prioritizing comfort and safety, allowing me to fully enjoy my runs without any worries. I don't have any experience with Shokz's previous Openfit generation, but reviews for those criticize the sound. It's tough to expect them to sound the same as "in-ear buds", but even with that known, it seems that the previous generation lacked in the sound department. To my surprise, these sound great. I was very surprised by the sound, especially coming from the Nobles. Some may think Dolby Audio is a gimmick, but it isn't. If anything, its inclusion creates a clearer sound than you'd expect from these. The sound signature can be described as well-balanced with notable treble highlights. While the resolution of the treble may not be the highest quality, it makes these a good buy if you're looking at specifically comfort, fit, and use when working out. Additionally, the bass is surprisingly good. It won't knock your socks off, obviously. Generally, these types of workout earbuds have very weak or distorted bass. This one doesn't have either. It has clear bass output. The EQ modes are "standard," "vocal," "treble boost," "bass boost," or "customize." For the most part, when I'm working out, I listen to hip-hop, and therefore, I chose the "bass boost" as my go-to setting. For podcasts, I switch over to "vocal." I haven't tried many phone calls on them, but the time I did receive a call while on a run, I stopped and was able to talk for a few minutes without an issue. There is a "microphone noise cancellation during calls" feature, which isn't automatically turned on in the settings. If you plan to use these for calls, toggle that on when setting it up in the app. The app is both straightforward and effective in helping you customize it to suit your specific needs or preferences. You can easily adjust the EQ, personalize the controls, locate your earbuds, and upgrade the firmware. Everything is organized in a user-friendly and straightforward way. For at-home use or just relaxing, listening to your music, I wouldn't suggest these when there are several others out there that will sound better. Still, suppose you're looking for a place to work out specifically, whether that's cardio, gym, or outside walking. In that case, these are about as great as you're going to get at this price range. For $200, you get some comfortable earbuds that won't fall out, and you can "throw around a bit." These are IP-rated, so you don't have to worry about sweat, rain, or dust while working out. The battery is exceptional as well. In fact, after a few weeks of intermittent use, I've only had to charge them a few times. After more serious tracking, it will last around 50 hours! Obviously, that's more than enough for using every time you work out.
