Excellent Earbuds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shokz Open Fit earbuds are excellent. The sound quality is very good. They are comfortable in my ears and for me, they importantly do not fill my ear canal. My ear Dr is not a fan of earbuds that fully fill your ear canal. He says the reverberating sound can damage your ear as it has no way to escape the ear canal. Shokz got it right. They call it "open ear", my Dr says these type of earbuds are essential to good ear health. These earbuds meet that goal. At first it takes a few tries to get the method down as you 'spin' the earbuds' into your ear with the ear clip.Once inserted you can forget that they are in. Lightweight and comfortable the sound is good for talk and music. The bass is very good and quite noticeable to me. What I also like is that these earbuds do not cause me to forget my surroundings which is good for safety. I can hear what I am listening to, but also know what is going on around me. The earbuds sit in a small plastic case and charge directly from the case, with supplied charging cable. Connection to bluetooth was extremely easy. They are turned on and off and feature driven by taps on a certain area of the earbuds. This takes a bit of getting used to. You can control on and off from either earbud and control fast forward or reverse on tracks by tapping left earbud (previous track) right earbud (next track). The phone feature works fine with the tap feature, but as I said, there is a learning curve. These are a good choice and combine it with a 2 year warranty they are surely recommended by me.

All-day comfort and excellent sound quality
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using my Shokz OpenFit Headphones for just over a week now and I am VERY impressed with its lightweight, comfort and sound quality. They definitely beat the in-ear earbuds I was using before, which fell out of my ears often and that was quite frustrating. My Shokz OpenFit Headphones arrived fully charged and they were ready to be used immediately. The manufacturer recommends to download their app, so you can personalize its functions and also receive firmware updates, but I opted out (don't need another app on my phone). Aside from the comfortable fit, Shokz OpenFit Headphones offer excellent sound quality. Even though you can hear your surrounding sound, it's not distracting at all. Initially, there were some trials and errors for getting the hook to go over my ear correctly and have it stay on (especially if you wear glasses) but I got used to it fairly quickly. I also fumbled on answering calls at first - double-tapping vs. single-tapping - but I am getting a hang of it. One negative worth noting is that Shokz OpenFit Headphones can only connect to one device at a time. I know it's pretty standard but was REALLY hoping that they could connect to at least two devices at once, so I can use them on my phone or laptop interchangeably. Even with that slight inconvenience, Shokz OpenFit Headphones deserve five stars and I would highly recommend them.

Almost perfect. But I love em!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Summary: I was somewhat skeptical of these headphones prior to receiving them but after about three days of use, they have become my new everyday headphones. Extreme comfort, good sound quality, amazing battery and the ability to hear the outside world are what put these on top of my list. Pros: -Battery -Comfort -Open ear design -Bluetooth 5.2 Unboxing: The package is a tiny bit larger than the unit itself. Inside you will find the case and headphones, documentation, and a USB-C to USB-C charging cable. Setup: I paired my via the Bluetooth menu on my phone then later downloaded the Shokz app for further finetuning. It was tested on two Android phones and a Windows Laptop. Build quality: The case is actually kind of large compared to most wireless earbuds. It is mostly flat but large in height and width. The black case feels somewhat generic with the Shokz logo front and center. There is USB-C in the back and a light indicator on the front. Upon opening, the two earbuds are stowed with the ear loops over one another. The buds themself feel higher quality than the case. There is nice silicone all around and they are extremely light. They basically glide over your ears for a very natural feel when putting them on. The main driver part of the headphone hovers just above your ear canal and feels “right”. You basically can not feel the ear loop and battery in the back. Sound quality: I was impressed by the volume and punch of the sound when in its default settings. Bass was found to be a bit lacking as is when set up. I definitely recommend setting up the Shokz app as the amount of bass will be affected by how exactly they sit on your ears. For me, I preferred to have the Custom EQ making it to my liking. After setting up the EQ the bass is just right to add fullness but not overpowering. All my comments are using the will emphasize which I am using. Standard EQ is best at higher volumes as it just sounds weak at 50%. There are no fancy Bluetooth codecs, just your basic SBC and AAC were supported with my devices. No sign of APTX or LDAC. Bluetooth range seemed pretty normal at 30ft. Spoken word is perfect across all levels. It projects and focuses just the right amount of volume in the direction of your ear canal. There is a vocal EQ if desired. “Karma” by Taylor Swift was kind of boring on the default EQ with just vocals coming through. On Bass Boost EQ, it emphasized her voice and the bass a little better but percussions were a little muffled. “Entertainment” by Rise Against is very similar with good ability to hear the vocals and guitar on Standard, bass is mostly absent and percussion is weak. Bass boost seems to make everything somewhat equal. The cover song “Torn” by First to Eleven was perfect in standard EQ with everything coming out balanced. Last, “Steal the Show” by Lauv was good in Standard but really needs Bass Boost for that iconic bass sound. The headphones can put out decent bass but needs to be set up for it. Highs tend to suffer but are not bad at all. Mids are where it stands out the most. When you pump up the volume, they act more like normal headphones, at 50% volume you can hear the entire world around you no problem. Battery: I have been using these seemingly non-stop for three days and I have yet to recharge the case! The headphones themselves are rated at around 7 hours of battery with 28 hours in the case. There is no wireless charging which initially annoyed me but as long as these last, it turned out to be a non-issue. Sleeping: With the way these fit, I was curious how they would be for listening to music while sleeping. It turns out I could barely feel them all night as a side sleeper and woke up with them still on my ears and no discomfort. Great job Shokz! With battery life to last, they were still playing when I woke up. Exercise: They have an IP54 rating so going out to run with them was no issue. They stay on my ears requiring zero readjusting and allow me to hear any wild animals creeping up on me. With their rating they should be just fine for small amounts of dust and rain but I wouldn’t do a mud run or Spartan race with these. Cons: Some were already said but here are the only gripes I had with these. -Large case -Boring design -Frequency range is only 50hz-16khz (most headphones are 20hz-20khz)

A Brand-New Listening Experience!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It didn't take long for me to see that I had finally found the perfect earbud! The Shokz OpenFit Open Ear Earbuds not only allow me to listen to my music or podcasts, but at the same time allow me to freely wear them at work where I can stay in touch with what is happening around me. And the kicker? They sound amazing! The first thing I noticed about the Shokz earbuds after unpacking them is how genuinely well-made they are. When you hold the storage box in your hands, you get the feeling you are about to open a priceless jewel. The box is sturdy, elegant, and obviously made to withstand the rigors of everyday use. As you open the box and look at the earbuds crisscrossed, you get the impression you are looking at something of alien origin. You also get the impression you are looking at an extremely high-quality article. As I took them out, I was (at first) a bit confused as I did not see any type of button to push to begin the pairing process with my iphone. So throwing all caution to the wind, I put them on and went to my blue tooth settings. Shokz thought of everything. It was an almost automatic pairing process that involved me simply choosing the Shokz earbuds from the list of found devices. In less than one minute, the Shokz were paired and ready to use. Seriously...less than a minute! Shokz does offer an app that allows more control over the use of the earbuds, but even so, I found them ready to go immediately after pairing, even without the app. I do recommend the app, however, because otherwise you are left to trying to figure out all the tap-controls on your own. Because of past experience with other earbuds, I discovered that play/pause are controlled with a double-tap to the speaker part of the earbud. But let me talk about the app for a bit. The app is easy enough to find on the app store...simply search for Shokz (Open-Fit). Takes only a moment to download, but then it has to go through a firmware update. This takes a few minutes. For some, having to wait through an update can be frustrating. On my part I am grateful that Shokz actually checks to make sure its devices are completely up to date with all the improvements and fixes, so I will always know they are at maximum peak performance. The app itself is purposely simple. For sound, there are four preset options and the option to create two of your own presets. The app also allows you to customize Double-Taps/press-and-Hold to increase/decrease volume, play previous/next track, pause/play, and a few other controls. I absolutely love the fact that you can control the volume using the earbuds without having to go through any complicated motions, or having to use the device your listening to. That way you can hear not only what you are listening to at the moment, but also engage with others and the environment around you when necessary (like at work or what-have-you). Putting on the Shokz Open-Fit earbuds is super easy...they slide right on, and when the speaker part engages the earlobe, you know they are located properly. The first time I put them on, I heard a tone that let me know they were connected properly. I opened a music app, chose some music, and jumped right in to the listening experience. I was surprised at how good these earbuds sound. Shokz uses something they call DirectPitch™ technology to enhance the listening experience. I'm not exactly sure what all that entails, but I am sure that it makes for incredible listening. I tried out several different genres, including podcasts and videos, and everything was great. There is no distortion at any level, and I have to admit that I like extra bass, and even at the highest volume it still sounded remarkable. You can hear the highs, lows and mids with crystal clarity. In vocal recordings such as podcasts, there is no struggling trying to understand or hear what is being said. In short, Shokz did their homework, and they have produced an outstanding product! And I can't leave out one of the most important aspects of the Shokz OpenFit Earbuds...they are the absolute most comfortable earbuds I have ever worn! There is zero stress on the ear, and if you aren't careful, you will forget you even have them on. These things are crazy-amazing. Just in case you are wondering, yes, you can turn these up loud enough to drown-out everything around you...way before you hit maximum volume. So they are perfect for work/school use, and for anything else you want to do that doesn't require engagement with your environment. I have used these now for several days, and as hard as I try, I just cannot seem to come up with anything negative to say. The fit is amazing...the sound is amazing...the battery life is amazing...the app is amazing... everything about these earbuds is amazing. The one and only thing that even comes close to being an issue is of course if you wear glasses. Because they are over-the-ear, well, there is a fight for space between your glasses and the earbuds. And even this is such a minor issue that I hate bringing it up. I quickly became used to it, and the silicone material of the earbuds keep my glasses from sliding at all. So again, this is such a minor issue that it is almost not worth mentioning. If you are looking for the perfect earbuds to wear at work or anywhere else that you need to remain engaged with everything around you, while at the same time having a set of earbuds that deliver exceptional sound when you are by yourself, THESE ARE THE ONES! I cannot recommend these highly enough! They have already become my go-to earbuds for everyday use!

Great sounding headphones that fit well
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First and foremost, the Shokz OpenFit design is a game-changer. The lightweight and comfortable frame sits right in front of your ears, allowing you to remain fully aware of your surroundings. It's perfect for outdoor activities like running, cycling, or even walking in busy urban environments. No more compromising on safety for the sake of enjoying your favorite tunes. When it comes to audio quality, the Shokz OpenFit headphones excel. The premium bone conduction technology they employ provides a unique listening experience. Instead of using traditional drivers that cover or enter your ears, these headphones transmit sound vibrations through your cheekbones. The result? Crystal-clear audio that feels like it's coming from inside your head. It's a surreal feeling that enhances both music and calls, making them sound exceptionally immersive. Comfort is another area where the Shokz OpenFit headphones shine. The lightweight design and flexible frame ensure a secure fit without any discomfort, even during extended wear. The headphones are sweatproof, making them ideal for intense workouts or outdoor activities. Additionally, the open-ear design prevents any pressure on your ears, making them an excellent choice for people who experience ear fatigue with traditional headphones. I have particularly weird shaped ears where no earbuds fit comfortably without falling out. I’ve tried everything. These Shokz OpenFit stay in place because of the hooks behind the ears and because the earbuds don’t actually have to fit inside the ears, but stay outside. The big drawback with these headphones is that they are not particularly loud. So, if you are in a noisy environment like a commercial gym that blasts its own music over speakers, you will not hear your own music well. I tested these out in my gym and found this to be the case. You will need closed headphones for such a noisy environment. However, when you are walking around the neighborhood or on your treadmill at home, these are perfect. The Bluetooth connectivity on these headphones was seamless, allowing for easy pairing with my smartphone, tablet, and other devices. The range was impressive as well, providing a stable connection even when I moved around my home. The built-in controls on the headphones were intuitive and responsive, giving me full control over my music and calls without reaching for my device. Just a quick tap on the headphones when a call was coming in and I was able to speak. The microphones on these are great as people I was talking to on the phone said I sounded loud and clear. To sum it up, the Shokz OpenFit Headphones have exceeded my expectations in every way. They deliver an exceptional audio experience while keeping me aware of my surroundings, making them a perfect choice for outdoor enthusiasts. The only drawback I experienced was that they were not suitable for use while working out in a loud, noisy commercial gym. The comfort, battery life, and durability further solidify their position as a top-tier option. If you're looking for headphones that combine performance, safety, and style, the Shokz OpenFit headphones are an excellent investment.

Shokz has a winner on its hands!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received this product recently and here is my honest take on this item. I already own about 4 different earbuds (from differing major companies) so my review is based upon comparison of sound and features. Right out of the box, my product paired automatically and I was connected. This product produces very pleasant sounds with crisp highs and lows. Further to this, upon downloading the Shokz app you can further tweak sound settings with the equalizer with standard, vocal, bass boost or treble boost. A nice feature with the app is that you can save your own preset EQ mode. I use my tweaked EQ setting and never change it. The Shokz Open-Fit does not have the capability of increasing or decreasing your listening sound level. You have to utilize your phone to either increase or decrease listening volumes. You can answer phone calls with the product directly. You can also skip a track of music or switch to a previous track. When wearing the Shokz, you will immediately notice a super comfortable experience. The product isn’t worn “in your ear opening” rather it positioned horizontally to you ear opening making for long listening sessions without ear fatigue! The Shokz product is pleasing to listen to music and use for phone calls. I have to say it rates pretty high on my list for earbuds with it’s nice sounds and comfortable wear. Definitely enjoining the openness of this style of product!

I love these headphones, super comfortable!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a firm believer that there are three categories of earbuds, budget, good, and premium. I find they all fit ok'ish for all day wear, the higher end ones have great sound, but still I've never really found ones that I can truly say I love to wear continuously, until now. The Shokz OpenFit Headphones are absolutely a game changer for me to wear all day though out my daily activities. In the box are the headphones, charging carry case, USB-A to USB-C charging cable, and paperwork. Setup is easy, blue tooth pairing is activated on initial case opening and they paired the first time with my Android phone. Subsequent pairing requires both earbuds to be in the case and long press both earbuds, when pairing is activated the case flashes orange / green. Fit is absolutely amazing, you slide the ear piece on like you would sunglasses, and then rotate 90 degrees. The headphone is very light weight, yet it sits securely in place and will not move throughout the day. The speaker in these headphones rest directly in front of the ear, but not on it, so no discomfort. DirectPitch is the Shokz technology that directs the audio into the ear to give very clear sound, and honestly I'm really impressed with the sound quality for not being in ear. Overall I really like the build, the material doesn't heat up or get sweaty, and I can comfortably leave these in my ears all day, turning on to play music or take calls as I want. After initial pairing, I installed the Shokz app, which I find to be a very streamlined user interface. The main menu shows battery status of each headphone and case battery status. There are customizable EQ modes (see photo) in addition to the standard settings of standard, vocal, bass boost, treble boost. Lastly there is button press customization, there are two functions per headphone, a double tap and a long press, you can customize accordingly from preset options. Music quality is good, its not immersive like you'd get with in the ear headphones / earbuds, but that's one the aspects I like. I think this adds a safety factor for working around the farm or near the road, and I like that I can quickly pause to join a conversation rather than missing when someone is speaking to me if they aren't looking directly at me. As far as privacy, my family says they cannot hear my music, at full volume, unless I'm about twelve inches away from their ears. Call quality is fantastic, the audio is crystal clear and the mic doesn't make you sound far away. People I talked to could tell a small difference than if I was using my phone, but minimal, and the headphone mics did not seem to pick up background noise, I estimate its comparable to a phone mic. What I absolutely love is the lightweight fit that stays in place, and the fact that I can hear what is going on around me. Things that others may not love are that I don't think these would be comfortable to use while wearing glasses, at least for long use periods. I had my husband try them and his glasses sit beside the earpiece or on top of them, he said it wasn't terrible but could get annoying. The other issue I can see is if you want ANC fully immersive sound, these aren't the headphones for you. Otherwise, take them running, hiking, to the office, they are great for all day comfort.

Great for Running/Biking/Calls
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I own many kinds and brands of headphones, sunglasses with speakers, and earbuds. The biggest issues I have with all my listen devices, except the sunglasses, is that they all block surrounding sounds. This is nice when in a noisy environment or when you want deep bass, but can be a safety issue when running or biking. The Shokz OpenFit allows the user to be audibly aware of upcoming dangers and allow unobstructed conversations without removing/placing them in hear-through mode. The Good These earbuds had an equal mix of positive and negative features. These are the most comfortable earbuds I have worn in a long time. They were so light and comfortable, I forgot I was wearing them hours later. They were even comfortable while wearing sunglasses. I was able to eat and drink without hearing any extra noise from chewing. I tried making a few phone calls and they were clear on both ends and eliminated most wind and background noise. Easy listening music sounded great with crystal clear tremble/mids. Last positive thing I noticed was many earbuds are not dust resistant, but these provide a great level of protection. The Bad The first thing I noticed when using these were the lack of options in the app. The app had only a few options for the touch controls and equalizer for music (see photos for examples). Many songs sounded great, but the earbuds did not handle deep bass well and sounded like they reached their excursion limit. The last major negative thing I discovered is that these earbuds can only be connected to one Bluetooth device at a time. Other negative things I found was the lack of wireless charging and short battery life without recharging in the case (7 hours). Pros Excellent call experience Water and dust resistance Light Great wind and background noise elimination Clear Tremble Eating/drinking compatible Cons No wireless charging 7 hours use without case Lacks deep base App needs more options Minimal touch control options No multipoint (can’t connect to multiple devices at once) If you are looking for easy listening music while biking/running or for phone calls, these earbuds are great and I would highly recommend them. If you are looking for good bass and sound isolation, then there are much better options.

Skeptical at first but now my favorite earphones!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me start out by saying that I've had Shokz headphones before so I thought I knew what I was getting into when I was offered these to do a review prior to launch. Let me say next, that I was unprepared for the Shokz OpenFIT. Since there was no real info out on these before I received them, I assumed (and you know what happens when you do that), that these were just like the other Shokz headsets that use bone conduction technology but that they were no longer connected by a band, which I thought was cool. When I popped them out of the case and tried to hook them on my ear the way I figured they went, I got extremely frustrated trying to get the main part of the headphone over the bone in front of my ears AND keep them hooked over my ears. You may ask yourself: "Self, why didn't this knucklehead look at the instructions that were included with the OpenFIT headphones?" To which I would reply: "You answered your own question when you called me a knucklehead." I am a red-blooded American tech-bro and instruction manuals are for old people... and it would seem, knuckleheads. Once I figured out what to do and how to wear the OpenFITs properly, I proceeded to run them through my 'headphone test' playlist that has favorites of every genre that I know like the back of my hand so I can tell if they are 'off'. I was pleasantly surprised with the Shokz OpenFITs. For being an open earphone and not going directly into your ear canal, they did a VERY nice job on virtually everything except for rap and dance songs. While the bass was there, it is virtually impossible for any headset that doesn't seal your ear canal to do real bass any justice, and this goes for earbuds that sit in in the bowl of your ear as well. Where the OpenFITs really blew me away was with rock and jazz (which are my preferred genres anyway). The first song that made me really sit up and go 'Wow', was 'Riders on the Storm' by The Doors. On a lot of headphones, the opening thunderstorm intro can be muddy and too soft but on the OpenFITs it almost sounded like a thunderstorm was rolling in. They are even good enough to call out the poorly produced songs that I have, which many mainstream earbuds kind of gloss over with a lack of definition themselves. My absolute favorite thing to listen to on these though will be jazz. Herb Alpert's horn comes through great on the OpenFITs and the flamenco guitar of Ottmar Liebert is bright and crisp. Sitting in my easy chair, these are phenomenal headphones that still allow me to hear what is going on around the house. That leads me to probably the only thing I DON'T like about the OpenFITs, where you can wear them. You would assume that the open ear for situational awareness and the over ear hooks for stability would make them great for exercise, and they do, IF you exercise inside. If you are going to bike, run, or even just go for a brisk walk, the wind noise will drown out your music. And not just by a little, I mean they will actually create MORE wind noise than normal since they stick out from your ear and deflect air more than your ears already do. That being said, I'm OK with this. I'm now going to relegate my previous set of earbuds made by a certain 'fruit' company to be my workout pair, and the Shokz OpenFITs are now going to be my go-to pair for all my other listening. Here are a few more details that I liked/didn't like about the OpenFITs: Like: 1. Great battery life. I charged these up completely on the day I got them and over a week later I STILL have not had to charge the case again despite listening to the OpenFITs for well over their 28 hours of rated life. I just checked and the case is at 30%. 2. The 'Dolphin' ear-hooks. I forgot how much I miss having ear-hooks. ALL of my earbuds prior to the bluetooth revolution all had hooks like these and while earbud makers have done a better job on keeping earbuds in your ear without having to jam them in there, it still won't beat having the ear-hooks. 3. Nice App. Nothing to blow you away, but it is a clean and functional app that allows you to quickly and easily change or set-up EQ profiles. I only wish I could see the details of the 'canned' profiles so I could better judge if I am actually changing anything or if I'm just imagining it. 4. Call Quality. While I don't think calls sound necessarily any better on my end, several people that I talked to on the phone said that I sounded 'Much better' than normal, which would be using the 'pods' from the fruit company. That was actually a big surprise for me. Don't Like: 1. The 'Wobble'. The only thing I wish the team at Shokz would do, would be to tighten up the play of the earphone on their hooks. There were quite a few times that it would feel like it was falling out of my ear only to swing back in. I have gotten more used to it by now, but it is one of those things that is almost like a reflex when you feel like your earbud is about to fall out. It is just a bit of panic when you are afraid it's going to fall down a sewer drain and be gone forever. I understand though that Shokz needed enough play to accommodate ears of all sizes. All-in-all, I'm pretty impressed with the Shokz OpenFIT headphones. While not the best for outdoor sports, they are great for pretty much everything else.

Shokz OpenFit is A Game Changer for Comfort and Aw
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the Shokz OpenFit open-ear wireless earbuds for a few weeks now, and I can confidently say they’ve exceeded my expectations. These are not your typical earbuds, and that’s a good thing. One of the standout features is how incredibly lightweight and flexible they are .The flexible ear hook design keeps them securely in place without any pressure on the ear canal, making them perfect for long listening sessions. I can wear them for hours while working, walking, or exercising without any discomfort. Shokz’s DirectPitch Technology , had me honestly surprised by how rich and full the sound is, especially for an open-ear design. The vocals come through crisp, and the bass has a satisfying presence - all while letting me stay aware of my surroundings. Whether I’m on a call or listening to music, the audio performance is top-notch. Battery life is another win, up to 7 hours per charge with the case providing extra juice for a total of 28 hours. I rarely find myself needing to charge them mid-week. If you’re looking for a premium open year audio experience that combines great sound with comfort, awareness, and durability, the Shokz OpenFit is a fantastic choice. They’re especially ideal for people who value situational awareness while on the go or simply can’t stand the pressure of in ear buds. Shokz nailed it with this one!

Comfortable and Good Sounding "Active" Earbuds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Unboxing, First Impression Shokz OpenFit is a worthy consideration as an open style “fitness” earbud, i.e., ones that sit outside the ear canal rather than inside, allowing you to hear surroundings while listening to music, podcasts, etc. If you want to tune out the world, look elsewhere; that’s not the purpose of these since they don’t offer noise cancellation. I’ve run with AirPods “forever.” My biggest complaint against them is the loose feeling when sweat accumulates, though I’ve never had a pair that’s fallen out. So when I saw how the OpenFit sits on, not in, the ear canal I was intrigued. Unboxing the OpenFit feels familiar. White box lifts, revealing a USB-C charge case with OpenFit buds inside. Wireless Qi would have been preferred given its prevalence, but it’s still a first-class case with a strong, reassuring hinge protecting your buds. A front charge indicator glows red when the case’s battery is low. Another indicator for the buds’ battery is inside. Both the buds and the case are magnetized so the buds snap to the correct charging position. Size-wise, it’s 2.5”x2.5”x1”. Small, but not jeans pocketable. Bluetooth pairing is quick. An optional, no-fee mobile app with additional features (mostly an equalizer) is also available. I did not install the app. First impression: the OpenFit feels “invisible.” I find the AirPod 3s comfortable too, but I definitely feel them. The OpenFit is a new level of comfort for me. Also, unlike the AirPod 3’s hard plastic these have a soft silicone wrap. Before assessing OpenFit’s “real life” usability, I baselined it with my AirPod3s for better comparison. I put an OpenFit bud in my left ear and AirPod 3 in my right then alternated the same song at the same audio level. I listened to music genres from A-Z, switching between earbuds every 30 seconds until I had a good idea of the OpenFit sound and volume level compared to the AirPod 3s. Sound-wise, note for note, volume level for volume level, I could not detect a material qualitative difference between the OpenFit and AirPod3. Both sounded good at 60% volume level, and, frankly, as “fitness” earbuds, audiophile quality is not a priority. But this was in a quiet room while stationary. Time to roam outside. Failure at First Launch, Then Success: The value of the OpenFit to me is based on how it performs in noisy urban scenarios. These are when and where I use my AirPod 3s. Specifically, do they have a good music-to- surroundings-awareness ratio? A two-hour trek took me on a long busy street with throaty motorcycles, car honking, and the occasional helicopter flyover. At least 25% of the time I could barely hear music even at 100%. It was a disappointing failure, but I later discovered it was entirely “user error.” When I put them on I didn’t realize that the driver should be tucked inside the cavity leading to the ear canal, not gently laying on the top of my ear as it was during the walk. So, if you here more of your surrounding than music, check your placement. This is probably why. Later I looked at Shokz’s product photos of people wearing the OpenFit then fiddled with mine while looking in the mirror to match the photo. They key was I had to physically insert the driver into the deepest part of the outer ear. The next day I wore them this way on a run to re-test. The route is a bike/pedestrian river trail, but adjacent to a bustling parkway, so it’s not silent. Here I mostly need to be aware of the ringing warning bell of passing cyclists. My result was opposite of the previous day’s disaster. Fitted correctly, the music took lead over the ambient noises, the way it should be. Cyclist’s bells and traffic were still audible, a good thing, but it wasn’t overwhelming my music like my poor-fit outing. The “invisible” but secure feel of the buds remained while running too. They never felt bouncy or like they were slipping off. Phone Call Experience: Walking back from the run I made a phone call to test that aspect. My experience was mixed, depending on whether the person on the other end was on speakerphone or speaking direct into the phone. When a speakerphone was used I found the audio level appreciable lower than when talking directly into the phone. By comparison, I don’t have this discrepancy with my AirPod 3’s. At times I had to crank the volume up to nearly 100% from 65% and it still wasn’t that loud. When a plane flew over or an emergency vehicle passed, forget about it. The OpenFit features background noise cancellation for phone calls so the person you are talking hears you not honking car horns. This worked great, apparently. So, it’s ironic I couldn’t hear the person on the other end because of the jet noise, but they could hear me perfectly fine. Other things to be aware of: Open earbuds mean sound is going to be heard by nearby people, i.e., sound leakage. The OpenFit are no different. Consider where you will wear these, and how they will be used (music or phone calls). In my tests, audio was recognizable a couple feet away at a normal volume level. They work with Siri, if you are a Siri user, but they don’t have “Hey, Siri” functionality like AirPods or other “Hey Siri” compatible devices. So, you can’t, for example, say “Hey Sir, Call XYZ., or “Hey Siri, play…” Bottom line: The OpenFit are a good choice for those who find inner ear canal fitting buds uncomfortable and don’t need noise cancellation. I found the music audio quality and sound level on par with AirPod 3s. The sound level with phone conversations, however, dipped, and was hard to hear in an urban environment. Because these are open earbuds they would not be a great choice for use where ambient noise is unwanted, like on an airplane.

Great over the ear bud
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sound for over the ear cant really say ear buds because they don't go in your ear. They are the most easiest pair of buds i own. There is no app to use and hook up to just find with your bluetooth and connect. The are very light as if you don't have anything on your ears. Very flexible they seem like they can take a drop and not brake. The case is small and simple easy to charge the units. You can use one at a time or both it works either way some don't do that. There isn't a lot of function the them all you can do is tap to pause tab to play and pick up phone calls. The sound on the phone call is clear and doesn't sound like you in a box. The music that plays from the unit is clean and clear a little bass not a lot. You can use them and still have a conversation with someone. These are going to be great for me as i like to bike take a lot of walks and go to the climbing gym. I don't like to have my ears plugged when outside biking or walking i want to hear if something is going on behind me to stay safe. Overall a great item to use.

A Game-Changer for Open-Ear Listening
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently purchased Shokz bone conduction headphones from best buy Naushua store, and they’ve completely changed the way I experience audio on the go. Unlike traditional in-ear or over-ear headphones, these sit just outside the ears, leaving them open to the world. The bone conduction technology delivers clear audio through cheekbones, allowing me to stay aware of my surroundings, which is incredibly helpful for running, cycling, or just walking around the city. The sound quality is impressive for bone conduction, with rich mids and clear highs, though bass is understandably softer than in traditional headphones. They’re lightweight and comfortable, and I hardly feel them even after hours of wear. Battery life is solid, lasting through a full day of listening and calls, and they recharge quickly. One of the highlights is the secure fit; they stay in place even during intense workouts. They’re also water-resistant, so they can handle sweat or a light rain without issues. Overall, Shokz bone conduction headphones are perfect for anyone who prioritizes situational awareness or just wants a unique listening experience. The price may seem a bit high, but the combination of innovation, comfort, and quality makes them well worth it.

Shokz OpenFit Open Ear True Wireless Earbuds
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was interested in trying out these ear buds because of the design. I prefer buds that hook over my ears so they stay in place vs the kind that hang in your ear and are prone to falling out. When I got them, I was surprised how small they are. I’ve worn them at work all day and even though my job has me climbing, bending, and stooping all day, these never once fell out or felt like they might. Five stars for that! On the sound quality, it’s very good. Not a lot of bass so if you’re into that kind of music you may be disappointed but I don’t think you’re going to find buds that play that sound well. Where these really shine is the good sound quality AND being able to hear what’s going on around you, even carry on a conversation, provided you are not listening at higher volumes. So I’ll give five stars for that benefit. On the fit, it seems to me that the speaker ends up sitting a little too high on my ear. If I slightly flex the bud downward, the sound quality improves noticeably. They are flexible but I don’t see any way to adjust them. My wife and kids tried them out and said they sound amazing. Might be something you want to try on at the store and see for yourself if you have larger ears. I played them all day starting from a full charge, at 8 hours they were down to 20 % remaining, I placed them in their fully charged case and recharged them. The case was showing 80% left after topping off the buds so I’m sure I could get at least four charges from the case. I always use both ear buds when I wear them but I know some people just wear one. If you place one bud back in the case it turns the other bud off. There’s really no reason not to wear both though since you can still hear with them on. I downloaded the Shokz app to my phone, it allows you to apply different presets or custom settings to the eq and you can change the controls on the buds. I have the volume control on my watch so I left the default controls as-is. Two taps plays or pauses playback or answers an incoming call, a single press and hold on the left bud skips back one track and a single press and hold on the right bud skips forward a track. The app also shows the state of charge of each bud and the case ( I believe the case has to be open to communicate). I’ll attach some screenshots so you can see the alternative choices for control.

The open-ear design is super comfortable—I can wear them all day without any pressure or ear fatigue. Sound quality is amazing, with rich clarity and just enough bass. I can still hear my surroundings, which makes them perfect for work, workouts, and even walks with my dog. Battery life is solid, and the fit is secure. Highly recommend!”

Fan Freaking Tastic!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The absolute best ear buds I've ever used. I've gone through many. Galaxy buds, air pods, Lenovo buds, EKSA buds, cheap generic knock offs, Plantronics Voyager legend, Plantronics 5200. tons. None of them compare to the sound quality and call quality of these Shockz buds. They are over the ear, not in the ear, the bass is amazing, they last me 7 hours playing constant music and charge up enough to use the rest of the day in just 10 minutes in the little charging case that is INCLUDED with the purchase unlike others I've used. I work outside in the heat, and sweat like a pig at slaughter, but it doesn't affect my Shockz. They also seamlessly connected with both my iPhones and my Samsung Galaxy s22 ultra. All you got to do is open the case. Truly a magnificent piece of tech. Would buy again if I lost these.

Perfect for everyday use!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First off, let me start off by saying that I’ve never been a huge fan of headphones / wireless earbuds. But, the Shokz OpenFit Open-Ear wireless earbuds surprisingly “Shocked” me of how well I actually like them! I work from home, and I am on the phone several hours a day. Instead of using a bulky headset that can sometimes feel suffocating, I decided to purchase the Shokz wireless headphones from Best Buy. They are so lightweight yet very secure, and I love the fact that you can still hear what’s going on around you while still being able to hear your music or phone call as clear as day. I wear glasses sometimes as well, and the Shokz wireless earbuds stay in place all day without falling out or moving. Connecting to Bluetooth on your cell phone or computer is a breeze and the Shokz app is very intuitive! You’re able to adjust the base as well as other sound settings, view the battery percentage, and upgrade any firmware needed for the Shokz earbuds. The battery will last you for an extensive amount of time without having to charge! I can use these earbuds 3 to 4 days - 8 hours a day without having to charge! If you’re looking for that open-ear fit with the lightweight yet securable comfort, then it’s time to upgrade to the Shokz OpenFit Wireless Earbuds!

Comfy Open Ear with Quality Sound
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These Shokz open fit open ear wireless earbuds are amazing. I was looking for an earbud that didn’t have to go in the ear and I didn’t really want the full over the ear either. I like to wear one bud at a time to give my ears a rest since I wear them all day long and I like an open ear to hear my surroundings. I originally tried the Bose ultra open ear that clipped on the ear but they made my ears very sore after only using them for 1 day. When I returned them, the customer rep recommended to try these and I’m so glad he did! They are soft and light and hang on the ear. I was skeptical that it would make my ear sore having to hang on the ear but the hook is a very flexible and soft silicone. I hardly feel them at all and sometimes I forget that I have them on. The best part is that they stay outside of the ear and the sound is still terrific! Nice base and full sound. I’m pretty picky when it comes to sound so I was pleasantly surprised at how well these sound. I wear them all day long for meetings and everyone says they can hear me very clearly and they sound very clear too. Music sounds amazing as well. I’m very happy with this purchase especially since these cost half the price as my original purchase. The case is a wired charge until fully charged but is then wireless and keeps the buds charged all day. I get many days before having to plug the case in again. Overall - great sound, very comfortable, very happy. Get them.
