Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the OpenFit Open-Ear True Wireless Earbuds for their good sound quality, comfortable fit, and impressive battery life. The lightweight design and presence of bass are also appreciated. However, some customers have expressed concerns about the volume being low, connectivity issues, and the sensitivity of the touch controls.

I switched this from Bose. Bose was heavy and less battery life. This item is better than Bose one. Only sound quality isn't the best.

I like the connections on my Beats by Dre, but everytime I bought one, it didn't work. The Shokz work. I press one of the earbuds, but it may not stop the movie, but I can hear everything from both ears.

The sound quality is pretty good. Battery life is nowhere near their other flagship model. The case does not have a battery backup to charge the headphones when they die you must plug the case into a charger. You must turn off the headphones before you put them in their case. If not you will have a dead pair of headphones. You would think their new flagship unit would have these simple features

Good... but takes some getting use to...

Compact compared to the standard Shockz and actually does stay but does not feel very secure because seems like they float above the ear canal. Takes some getting use to, and sound quality is not as sharp as the standard bone conduction Shokz.

They sound really good but bass causes distortion. Maybe my speakers are blown and I have not maxed the volume out. Listening to music as I write this review, the speakers have to be blown.

Not to be confused with bone conduction headphone offered by the same company, these are open ear headphones that rest just above your ear canal. This creates an unrivaled level of comfort. They are extremely light and the piece that goes around the ear is incredibly soft and flexible. Because they are not inserted into the ear they can be worn all day without any discomfort. The sound is amazing (for something not inserted into the ear). There is more bass than I would’ve expected, and mid tones are clear. High tones are bright and crisp. There is minimal sound leakage too - meaning it would be difficult for somebody next to you to hear your music. This is really amazing - sound pressure is directed toward the ear canal and sound away from the ear canal is cancelled. All of this while being able to hear what is going on around you. There are options to adjust the EQ and set the Tap commands (there is an area at the end of each earbud that is touch sensitive for controls). The app will also provide firmware updates when needed. Call quality is great - noise cancellation is used to make sure you come through clearly. This has worked well on calls and video conferences. They snap into the case to charge. I don’t use them continuously throughout the day (due to the lack of multipoint) but I haven’t run out of a charge during the day. I wish they had bluetooth multipoint support - allowing you to connect two devices at once and switch between them. If they had that I would only use them all day - listening to podcasts and music in between calls and meetings. They should get near 7 hours of use. At the end of the day, they go in the case to charge, and at the end of the week I charge the case (the case can charge them 4 times, for a total of 28 hours). They also quick charge, with a 5 minute charge providing an hour of listening time. Charging the case is down with a USB Type C connector (no wireless charging). They can work individually as well, so you could charge one while wearing the other. They are also water and sweat resistant, perfect for workouts. Overall, these are the most comfortable earbuds you can that sound great and keep you aware of your surroundings. Shook is also a well trusted company (formerly AfterShokz).

i've had these for quite a while. while i enjoy the sound and the ability to hear surrounding clearly without using software passthrough; the devices just die in their case. half of the time i go to use these they're dead because they never shut off in the case. so not only are the ear buds dead but the case is dead as well. i've already had them replaced once for free but the new ones do the exact same thing. i've tried to move them around in the case and such and sometimes it just doesn't matter how they're in there they just don't disconnect and turn off. other than that i love these. if they ever update and fix i'll change my review.

Hi there- Shokz here! We're sorry to hear this has been your experience. There should be an update available via the Shokz app for the OpenFit, and we highly recommend updating to the latest version. Please make sure the charging box contacts and headphones contacts are clean and dry. (If the contacts are dirty, it will affect the connection. You can use a dry cotton swab to wipe the contacts). Reach out to our Customer Happiness Team if you have any questions. Thank you! AfterShokzCHT
