    Great Headphones. Not Bone Conduction

I tried these on at a running store and was blown away with how good they sounded for being an open ear headphone. I have tried many open ear models over the years and none have been very good, especilly with bass. The last time I tried Shokz was 2018 and they were horrifically bad. But the Open Run 2 model is straight up incredible. The sound is clear and crisp with great bass. They are also super loud. Half volume or less on my Garmin Fenix 7 is plenty. The comfort is also very good. Even with a hat and glasses on, they feel great and stay in the right position. I couldnt be more pleased from a sound and comfort perspective. From a safety perspective, these are not as safe as other open ear headphones. Since most (if not all) of the sound is coming from the external speaker instead of bone conduction, it makes it substantially harder to hear external noise at the same volume. The volume has to be turned way down for them to be legitimately safe vs in-ear headphones. Safety concerns aside, these are a fantastic pair of excercise headphones, especilly for running. These are a substantial upgrade for me from the Bose Quiet Comfort.

I love everything about these headphones! I was never able to wear original Shokz headphones because the neckband wasn't large enough, The OpenRun Pro 2's are much larger and fit perfectly! The sound quality is fantastic and they have a long battery life. I love the bone conduction technology that allows awareness of my surroudings while I listen to music and podcasts.

I run, so I thought I'd give these a try when I saw them on sale. The sound is not as good as my pro ear buds which work seamlessly with my phone; however, the sound is very good and the open ear concept is perfect for running or other activities where you want to maintain contact with your surroundings. Since they are bone conduction, the music reproduction is good but not great, but I'm running so I don't need an extra level of fidelity. I do find the verbal updates from Siri to be a little muffled but ok when compared to my ear buds. You do need to download an app to make any adjustments, so if that's not ok for you then you might want to get something more basic. These are excellent headphones that stay in place, keep my ears open to other environmental sounds, and provide very good music reproduction. Five stars for outdoor activities where you want to stay in touch with your surroundings. Less stars if you are looking for the ultimate music machine.

The Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 are excellent open‑ear headphones for workouts and everyday use. The bone conduction design allows me to enjoy music and calls while staying aware of my surroundings, which is especially helpful when running or walking outdoors. Sound quality is impressively clear for open‑ear headphones, with better bass than expected. They’re lightweight, stay securely in place, and remain comfortable even during long sessions. Battery life is reliable and easily lasts through multiple workouts. While they don’t offer total immersion like over‑ear headphones, that’s a fair tradeoff for safety and comfort. Overall, these are a fantastic choice for anyone with an active lifestyle who values awareness, comfort, and solid performance.

I purchased the open run pro 2 and have been very pleased with the decision. I use at work to listen to music and make hands free phone conversations in a work environment requiring situational awareness and the ability to communicate with others without having to remove or adjust volume The sound is an improvement over the original with both bone conduction and speaker the bass midrange and treble ranges are good. The buttons are intuitive and the over the ear design comfortable.

I love the sleek look of these Shokz! Also love that they don’t hurt my ears in any way that the AirPods or Beats By Dre do when I have them on for longer than 40 minutes. Easy to store and charge, especially with the item announcing low, medium or high battery when turned on.

I have purchased 4 of these Shokz Bone conduction headphones 2 for me and two as gifts. The sound is great. Not having them plugged into my ear canal saves my hearing! So light and minimal size you hardly know you have them on. Unlike iPods they don’t fall out when you’re exercising! The company now offers a USB C CHARGING PORT instead of their magnetic one. A major improvement, more secure attachment to charging cable. I previously owned another company’s bone conduction headphones they were 1/3rd the price. As my best friend has told me “ Buy cheap, buy twice!” The sound had little to no bass so it was particularly harsh. Buy Shokz!

Love the way these sound, and the ability to easily hear others when they talk to me without having to remove an earbud. It is almost as if there was music playing in the room and someone was speaking with you. This is hugely valuable when sharing a space with people. I also like the feeling of openness to the environment and "presence" when cycling or walking. I was a bit concerned about buying the steel blue model even though it was on sale, as the blue looked somewhat gaudy and childish/cheap in the photos. But it looks great in real life, more subtle and appropriate for a solid piece of equipment. Very pleased. It does sound a bit softer than other headphones I have, so I find myself setting the volume higher.

Hi Dan- Shokz here! We're glad to hear you're loving your new OpenRun Pro 2! We’re excited to share that we’ve just upgraded to the latest firmware version, and it can be updated via the Shokz app for the best experience with your OpenRun Pro 2. There is also a phone setting that may resolve the low volume issue. -On the iPhone, go to Settings > Sound & Haptics > Headphone Safety, make sure that the Reduce Loud Audio Feature is switched off as this will affect the volume of the headphone. -On an Android, go to the Bluetooth Settings on the phone, find the headphone and make sure that the Absolute Volume feature is switched on for it. Please reach out to our Customer Happiness Team if you have any questions. Thanks! AfterShokzCHT

What I like most about these is the open ear design. I can listen to music or podcasts without feeling completely shut off from everything around me, which makes a big difference for walks, workouts, or being out and about. They feel secure once on, stay comfortable for longer use, and the sound is better than I expected for this style. The only tradeoff is that if someone wants the most immersive audio possible, this type of headphone is obviously not built for that. For anyone who wants comfort and awareness at the same time, these are a really good option.

I’ve been using the Shokz for a couple of weeks now, and I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. Here are a few reasons why I think it’s worth it: Build Quality: Right out of the box, you can tell it’s well-made. It feels sturdy and durable, not cheap at all. Performance: It does exactly what it promises. It’s super efficient, easy to use, and has completely exceeded my expectations.

If you're not sure if these are right for you, don't hesitate. Make sure you take correct measurements as to not purchase the wrong size. I have the mini and love it! I wasn't sure if they would be loud enough but they didnt' disappoint. I am able to hear my music and still be aware of my surroundings. These headphones stay secure on your head. Buy them!

I bought these headphones for my son, and he's used them regularly for workouts, walks, and everyday listening. He loves the open-ear design because it's comfortable and allows him to stay aware of his surroundings. The sound quality has been great, and they've held up well over time. The only downside is that after about 1.5 years, the battery doesn't last as long as it used to and needs to be charged more often. Aside from that, they've been a solid purchase and have served him well.

Just awesome! Was hesitant about sound quality but it works great. My in ear Boise did better in quality but I only had one in my ear at a time. And of course I kept loosing the other one or the charging case. With these earphones I can hear my surroundings and the music. And my ears don’t hurt after using them for long period of time. Use the App it unlocks additional features. Battery life could be a little longer, but they charge fast.

    Too large for my ears

I was excited to use these OpenRun Pro 2’s by Shokz, as I had heard so much about them. Visually, they look “basic”, nothing really exciting about them other than that large band that will wrap around the back of your neck/base of your head. I put them on and I immediately knew they were not going to work. There is this large gap for the loop over my ears and rest outside the tragus (flap of cartilage in front of the ear canal) portion of the ear. They do not go inside the ear canal like traditional over-ear or in-ear earbuds. The purpose is for you to be completely aware of your surroundings if you are jogging, hiking, cycling and there are multiple points of danger around you. At the same time, you are able to listen comfortably to your music or podcasts, etc. The problem with me is the loop is so large that it rests way ahead of my tragus and I am not able to hear much of anything, even at full audio level. The loop does not conform whatsoever with my ears, I guess I have small ears? Even the band that goes at the back of the neck rests comfortably there but I was hoping there was an option to shorten it so that it can be snug around there. I’ve tried running outside with these on and I am able to hear about 50% of the content I had playing. At times, because they are on the larger side, they move up and down the ear and so I am afraid they are going to fall off. If I hold on to them with my hands and kind of move them back towards the canal, then I can get a more richer sound. Battery life is actually really good for these, as they lasted around 12 hours on my battery test. That is actually excellent compared to my other ear-buds that I own and use. Sound quality is not great as they sound tinny and not enough base. I would have liked to have louder volume on these. Overall, I do not believe that these OpenRun Pro 2’s are meant for me. They are just too large and don’t fit my head/ears. As a result I am not able to hear much of anything I am trying to listen to. Yes, they do allow me to be more aware of my surroundings, but I might as well be listening to my phone on speaker.
