I use wireless headphones daily and while I have no problems with in ear headphones, having a set like this makes me wish I tried them sooner. Though there are some trade offs with this design, there’s more positives than negatives. The headphones come with a USB-A to C charging cable (no power brick) and a nice travel case. Setting them up is like any Bluetooth device and you can do it without the app, but using the app gives extra controls. With the app it gives you the ability for multi device support, sound profiles as well as being able to update the firmware.
While using these you immediately see the benefits of this design, they stay in place and you’re not constantly adjusting them. I have multiple types of in ear headphones by multiple manufacturers and they all have to be adjusted (some more than others) no matter what I’m doing. And while this is a huge advantage over in ear headphones, that same advantage in design, has some drawbacks in sound. With the fact these sit on the outside of the ear, you don’t get that same depth of music with in ear headphones, especially with bass. They still sound really good though and are worth that trade off for the other benefits. This design gives you better situational awareness also. While using these on a one hour walk, I started with 90 percent battery life and had the same when done.
Though these are geared towards runners, if you’re not a runner, don’t let that keep you away. You truly get a set of headphones that you’re not constantly having to adjust and are extremely comfortable. Another plus is the health benefits of this design as you don’t have something in your ear that could cause an ear infection. The Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 offer great sound and a design that benefits anyone that wants headphones that you don’t have to constantly adjust and are extremely comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

Pros:
Comfortable Fit: The open-ear design is a game-changer. They’re lightweight and sit comfortably without any pressure on my ears, even during long runs.
Safety First: Keeping my ears open while still enjoying music means I’m more aware of my surroundings—perfect for outdoor activities like running or cycling.
Sound Quality: The bass is surprisingly robust for bone conduction, offering clear and balanced audio without compromising awareness.
Battery Life: With up to 10 hours of playtime, I only need to charge them every few days, even with regular use.
Quick Charging: A quick 5-minute charge provides enough juice for a short workout session, which has saved me more than once.
Cons:
Volume Limitation: Due to the bone conduction design, the audio doesn’t get very loud. While it’s fine for most situations, it might struggle in noisy environments like crowded streets.
Overall, these headphones strike an excellent balance between functionality and safety. They’re ideal for sports enthusiasts or anyone who values situational awareness while listening to music. The slight volume limitation keeps it from a perfect 5-star rating, but they’re still a solid choice for daily use!
Hi there- Shokz here! Thanks for providing this feedback! We’re excited to share that we’ve just upgraded to the latest firmware version, and it can be updated via the Shokz app for the best experience with your OpenRun Pro 2. There is also a phone setting that may resolve the low volume issue. -On the iPhone, go to Settings > Sound & Haptics > Headphone Safety, make sure that the Reduce Loud Audio Feature is switched off as this will affect the volume of the headphone. -On an Android, go to the Bluetooth Settings on the phone, find the headphone and make sure that the Absolute Volume feature is switched on for it. The good: Open ear, so you can hear around you while listening. Calls are clear. Controls are buttons instead of taps so no accidental taps. They're comfortable and don't create any sore spots with long term wear. Usb-c plug so they're easy to charge. Long battery life; some days I put them on in the morning and they're still going when I go to bed at night. The sound is superb. The bad: I can't look up or it falls off. Despite being bone conduction people sitting next to you can hear it. Highly recommend these if you don't want noise cancelling headphones.

Connects automatically to watch, phone, iPad. I use for cycling so I can hear the traffic but feel like the sound is all around me. Battery made it thru a 100 mile endurance ride. Highly water resistant! They stay on your ear and I don’t notice them while working out. The bone conduction technology is amazing. These are for if you want to hear what’s going on around you but still want good sound. Definitely check the fit as I have the short and the regular band which I like both. Some people may prefer the regular fit

I’ve been using the OpenRun Pro 2 for a while now, and honestly, they’re a game changer. Since I wear a hearing aid, most regular earbuds just don’t work well for me because they block the ear canal or cause discomfort. The OpenRun Pro 2 uses bone conduction technology, which means the speakers sit outside my ears instead of plugging into them.
That’s what makes them so great—I can keep my hearing aid on, still hear the environment around me, and enjoy music or podcasts clearly. The sound is surprisingly full and clear, with strong bass for bone conduction headphones. They’re lightweight, comfortable for long runs or walks, and I don’t feel any pressure in my ears.
Battery life is solid, and the quick charge is really convenient. I also love that I can have a conversation with someone without pausing or taking them off.
For anyone who uses a hearing aid, or just doesn’t like having something shoved into their ear, the OpenRun Pro 2 is a fantastic option.

I work 12 hours a day. Battery life is excellent. I wear this Shokz pro 2 headphone all day. I use it when go to the gym to exercise. It does not come off my head even when I go to bed. This headphone is so comfortable wearing it sometimes I forget that I am wearing it. The sound is excellent. I also use it in answering phone calls. The microphone call quality and noise, cancellation or voice isolation is really top notch. 10/10 for sound quality. I really like the sound of the base. The case that it come in is very nice and they charge quickly.

Awesome headphones with awesome clarity and volume range compared to other sets in the bone conduction space.
These are comfortable, don’t block my hearing or sit inside my ears (normal headphones make my ears raw). You can, however, turn them up enough to tune out distractions if required. I really enjoy the quality step up compared to the previous gen. While those would give you the effect of bass via thumps against your face, the dual drivers in these give enough bass to not sound “tinny” aimed right into your ear —and it’s only barely audible to others standing close by in particularly bass heavy music at near max volume (no more leak than normal headphones from what I can tell when letting others try them). The mids and highs are handled via bone conduction, and since they are their own channel and driver, they don’t become muddied like older tech that tried to mix all 3 through one driver.
The battery life is awesome too. They boast 12 hours of continuous use, but I rarely use them non-stop, so they last me all day at work and for some music/gaming when I get home (they work great with dynamic sound that tries to mimic 3D sound). They charge pretty quickly too, and I don’t have to worry about losing one like I do with small, in ear headphones.
The only thing I would change is adding a sensor that can tell when they’re on your face. You do need to power them off and reconnect in order to show someone something on your phone that requires volume. Small gripe that only takes a few seconds, but it’s one area they can improve. On the plus side, they sync up quickly and don’t drop signal. Reconnecting after sharing is problem free.
Best set I’ve bought in a long, long while overall, honestly!

They're super light and comfy, so you can wear them for hours without any ear fatigue. Plus, they handle sweat and a bit of rain without an issue. The battery life is solid, and the quick-charge feature is a lifesaver.

My son bought a pair of these OpenRun Pro 2 a little over a month ago and let me try them. I quite like the convenience and sound quality of these so I decided to buy one as well. I don't do well with earbuds because they tend to fall out quite easily. These open-ear headphones not only stay on comfortably, but also allow me to be aware of my surroundings.
The side button for quickly answering phone calls is nice as well.
I remember trying out the first generation OpenRun Rro in Best Buy over a year ago. I did not really like how they would constantly vibrate the temples of my head when the volume was higher. Also, they had a dedicated charging cable that was not USB-A or C. this second regeration OpenRun Pro 2 fixed both of those issues for me. There is no longer vibrations on each side of my head, and the USB-C charging means I can just use the same cable to charge my phone/tablet/headphones. The longer battery life over the first generation is a nice upgrade too.
Of course, if you're looking for noise cancellation features or are out in public places where the noise level is high, these headphones won't be the right fit.

I’ve been using the Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 for a few weeks now, and they’ve completely changed how I think about workout headphones. The bone conduction technology really delivers — I can clearly hear my music and podcasts while still being fully aware of my surroundings, which is a big plus for running or cycling outdoors.
The Steel Blue color looks sleek and stands out just enough without being flashy. The fit is secure and comfortable, even during long sessions — no ear fatigue, no slipping, and I forget they’re even there after a few minutes.
Sound quality has noticeably improved from previous models. The bass response is stronger, and the midrange clarity is great for both music and calls. While they’ll never hit the deep bass of in-ear headphones, the tradeoff for comfort and situational awareness is absolutely worth it.
Battery life is excellent — around 9–10 hours on a full charge, and the quick charge feature is a lifesaver when you need to top up before a workout. The controls are intuitive, and Bluetooth connectivity has been flawless with my phone and watch.
If you’re someone who runs, bikes, or just prefers open-ear comfort and awareness, the OpenRun Pro 2 is one of the best you can get right now.
Pros:
Outstanding comfort and secure fit
Great sound for bone conduction
Quick charging and long battery life
Safer for outdoor workouts
Sleek, durable build
Cons:
Not ideal for very noisy environments
Pricey compared to standard earbuds

First time having bone headphones. Pretty Awesome.
I mainly use these for exercising and riding the bike.
Pros: The headphones sit well on the head. Don't have any real irritating feeling when wearing them long term.
The sound is just fine. When wearing headphones to work out or ride I'm not looking for crisp sound. However, the sound quality that you get from these is really good. Dont sound that distorted as other reviews state.
When riding the bike you do hear the wind in the ear which does cause the music not to be heard or as clear. But that is to be expected, not to mention when riding you want to be aware of your surroundings. Which is PERFECT for these headphones. They keep me in the grove while helping me stay aware of what's going on.
If you are looking for noise-canceling headphones then these are not for you. The battery on these puppies last! The first day after a full charge lasted me 7hrs before I turned them off. Now that's awesome especially when you go on those 100-mile rides!
Cons: when talking on the phone, it can get a bit difficult for other people to hear you if you have a lot of noise going around, and vis for versa for you hearing them. But if you are in a quiet office space, then I don't see any issues using these for calls.

I love the way these fit especially when outdoors doing any kind of activity. Battery life is quite good, and while the sound volume takes some getting used to (it isn't as loud as in the ear buds) I really like still being able to hear external sounds (like cars, people talking).

I tried these on at a running store and was blown away with how good they sounded for being an open ear headphone. I have tried many open ear models over the years and none have been very good, especilly with bass. The last time I tried Shokz was 2018 and they were horrifically bad. But the Open Run 2 model is straight up incredible. The sound is clear and crisp with great bass. They are also super loud. Half volume or less on my Garmin Fenix 7 is plenty. The comfort is also very good. Even with a hat and glasses on, they feel great and stay in the right position. I couldnt be more pleased from a sound and comfort perspective. From a safety perspective, these are not as safe as other open ear headphones. Since most (if not all) of the sound is coming from the external speaker instead of bone conduction, it makes it substantially harder to hear external noise at the same volume. The volume has to be turned way down for them to be legitimately safe vs in-ear headphones. Safety concerns aside, these are a fantastic pair of excercise headphones, especilly for running. These are a substantial upgrade for me from the Bose Quiet Comfort.

I bought the orange Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 wireless bone-conducting headphones for my husband, and they’ve been an absolute game changer. He’s a roadside diesel service technician and spends hours on the road every day. These headphones let him stay fully connected with dispatch hands-free, all while still being able to hear what’s going on around him — which is incredibly important for staying safe while working along busy highways.
The sound quality is excellent, the fit is comfortable enough for all-day wear, and the battery easily keeps up with his long shifts. The bright orange color has actually been a huge bonus too — it makes them easy to spot so he isn’t constantly misplacing them when he’s home.
If you work in a loud or high-risk environment and need something that delivers clear calls without blocking out your surroundings, these are absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!

I work in fire and ems so being able to hear the tones is essential while working out or doing daily activities around the station. These headphones have great clarity, battery life, and sound without everybody else hearing what your listening too. Not only that, when I go to the gym, being able to bring these into the sauna without worry of the sweat damaging them has been a huge upside! I’ve had numerous headphones die due to that reason (sweat). Such as my beats or Galaxy budd pro 3s. Connectivity is very nice. Only downside to these headphones I realize is when I do have to get up for a call, they do not auto turnoff when disconnected. Outside of that small flaw, these headphones have been phenominal for my everyday life and career!

When you wear this, it fits really well on the ear, and you would notice it is barely there (it feels like it). Until you turn on your best audio track. This packs a puch, you dont expect it to beat any of the audiophile cans, but the sound is immersive and satisfying. You wear it for a run or take your kids to the park, uou will hear the surroundings and the kids playing, yet the music is immersive. After wearing it for long time You notice there is no fatigue at all. Loving it so far. Baytery is good last for couple of days fir me, your situations might be different. Overall go for it!

I’ve been using the Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 for a few weeks now, and I’m really impressed. The open-ear bone conduction design is perfect for outdoor runs and workouts—it keeps me aware of my surroundings while still delivering clear and balanced sound. The audio quality is noticeably improved over earlier models, especially the bass response, and the fit is super comfortable even during long sessions.
Battery life easily lasts through multiple workouts, and the quick charge feature is a big plus. The Bluetooth connection is stable, and the controls are intuitive. The Steel Blue color looks sleek and stylish too.
Overall, it’s a great blend of safety, comfort, and sound quality—ideal for anyone who wants to stay active while still hearing the world around them. Definitely worth the investment!

The Shokz OpenRun 2 are my go-to workout headphones, and honestly, I don’t think I could go back to regular earbuds. The bone conduction tech keeps my ears open, so I can still hear traffic, people, or whatever chaos is happening around me, which is perfect for running or working out outside. They’re super lightweight, stay in place no matter how much I move, and don’t leave my ears sore after hours of wear. Sound quality is solid for what they are—not crazy deep bass, but crisp and clear enough to keep me pumped. Battery life is great, and they charge fast, which is a huge plus. If you want full noise isolation, these aren’t for you, but if you like staying aware of your surroundings while jamming out, they’re a game changer.
