Excellent headphones (one wish)
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are great headphones for outdoor exercise when you need to be aware of your surroundings. Also great for doing yard work, auto work or anything that requires bending down. Too often my iPods have fallent out around the yard. Sound, comfort, USB-C, it checks all the boxes except one, I miss the full Siri intergration like my iPods Pro! I didnt realize how much I used Siri but I’m ok for the tradeoff for right now. If I want full isolation and sound cancelation I switch to my iPod Pros.

Too large for my ears
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was excited to use these OpenRun Pro 2’s by Shokz, as I had heard so much about them. Visually, they look “basic”, nothing really exciting about them other than that large band that will wrap around the back of your neck/base of your head. I put them on and I immediately knew they were not going to work. There is this large gap for the loop over my ears and rest outside the tragus (flap of cartilage in front of the ear canal) portion of the ear. They do not go inside the ear canal like traditional over-ear or in-ear earbuds. The purpose is for you to be completely aware of your surroundings if you are jogging, hiking, cycling and there are multiple points of danger around you. At the same time, you are able to listen comfortably to your music or podcasts, etc. The problem with me is the loop is so large that it rests way ahead of my tragus and I am not able to hear much of anything, even at full audio level. The loop does not conform whatsoever with my ears, I guess I have small ears? Even the band that goes at the back of the neck rests comfortably there but I was hoping there was an option to shorten it so that it can be snug around there. I’ve tried running outside with these on and I am able to hear about 50% of the content I had playing. At times, because they are on the larger side, they move up and down the ear and so I am afraid they are going to fall off. If I hold on to them with my hands and kind of move them back towards the canal, then I can get a more richer sound. Battery life is actually really good for these, as they lasted around 12 hours on my battery test. That is actually excellent compared to my other ear-buds that I own and use. Sound quality is not great as they sound tinny and not enough base. I would have liked to have louder volume on these. Overall, I do not believe that these OpenRun Pro 2’s are meant for me. They are just too large and don’t fit my head/ears. As a result I am not able to hear much of anything I am trying to listen to. Yes, they do allow me to be more aware of my surroundings, but I might as well be listening to my phone on speaker.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It works great. No problem with matching it with my phone or watch. The music is very clear and the battery last for several hours over several days without charging. It even tells you the remaining charge when first turned on.

Shokz OpenRun 2 / Pro 2
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 strikes a solid balance: much better sound than past bone-conduction pods, secure fit, long battery, all via universal USB‑C, while still keeping you aware. If outdoor safety matters most and you can overlook in‑ear fidelity, it’s one of the best in its class. Just be mindful of fit, durability, and that open-ear trade-offs apply.

Great headphones for staying active
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these mainly to ride my bike and still be able to have a phone call or listen to music. These headphones are outstanding at staying put while being comfortable. The sound is surprisingly good considering the sound is not going directly into the ear the way a regular headphone would. Conversations are very clear and music is acceptable. It is not the same wide sound range as a regular pair of headphones, but that cannot be expected considering how the sound is transmitted. This was a so worth it purchase.

Open earbuds are the way to go
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been wearing my open earbuds for over a week. And a 1/2 now have not taken them off. These things are amazing. I don't know why anybody would ever want to use. No easy counseling unless it's for a specific reason. The other one just kept falling out of my ears. These things you can jog run. Do whatever you want. I'm absolutely loving them. Don't hesitate great quality. Good connection.

Get these for sure!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love these. They fit great, and the sound quality is amazing. I love that there is a separate pause button away from the power and volume buttons. And my ears are very happy that I am no longer using the in-ear buds that caused so much discomfort. I wore these all day and almost forget they are on.

Best Shokz headphones to date!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got them for $149 on sale and used some reqards. Kinda offwet the high cost. But they’re super lightweight, comfortable, and i got the bright orange ones just so they’re easy to find and onvioos that they’re on my head (makes people go away lol). The bass is much improved on these over the previous versions. Awesome for listening to podcasts and / or talking on the phone while your hands are occupied, but you wanna be aware of your surroundings…

A marked improvement over the 1st OpenRun Pro
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been using the first generation of the OpenRun Pro for running and walking for about two years now, and I decided to see if this new version made them better- the answer is absolutely YES. Battery life is a little bit better, the fit and comfort are still just as good, but the sound is markedly better. Music and voice are clearer and richer, and this version avoids the vibration feeling you could get with the previous generation. On my runs I listen to audiobooks, podcasts, and music, and these headphones do well with all of them. You will still get better sound from high-quality earbuds or over-ear headphones, but if you want to still be able to hear around you for safety, like I do on runs, these are great.

Where's the Bone Conduction??? Low base + Low vol
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall these are pretty good. The quality of the sound is nice and clear, albeit low volume. And the battery life is long, and changes quick. But the new tech seems to not be doing any bone conduction at all (or VERY little). If I take and hold them half of an inch off of my skin (not touching me at all), the sound quality doesn't change at all. These have little speakers that emit sound into your ear cup instead of relying on the vibrations via bone conduction. I think because of this, the bass is very low. Just for transparency, the volume was so low, I consulted a friend who has had many bone conduction variants and they told me these had to be broke. So I exchanged them for a new pair, and the new pair are the same. I can barely hear a podcast at max volume, while jogging on a windy day. Other issue I have are with the high end. The ends are magnetic and snap together. When they do, you can hear a subtle ringing sound. This ringing sound also occurs with many mid-high to high frequencies and can be quite annoying.

Posted .Hi Taylor- Shokz here. We're very sorry to hear this has been your experience. We’re excited to share that we’ve just upgraded to the latest firmware version, and it can be updated via the Shokz app for the best experience with your OpenRun Pro 2. There is also a phone setting that may resolve the low volume issue. -On the iPhone, go to Settings > Sound & Haptics > Headphone Safety, make sure that the Reduce Loud Audio Feature is switched off as this will affect the volume of the headphone. -On an Android, go to the Bluetooth Settings on the phone, find the headphone and make sure that the Absolute Volume feature is switched on for it. If you decide these are not a good fit for you, we have a 45-day return window. Please visit our website, click "Support" and "Return Center" to begin a claim. Thank you!

Comfortable for all day wear.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These fit my head well, and I have a big head, so they are surprisingly comfortable as well. I can wear them all day and not remember I'm wearing them. They also seem to last all day for me through calls and listening to music and podcasts. I like that I can still be aware of my surroundings while listening to things.

Comfortable for all day use.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the second pair of shokz I've purchased, the first pair was starting to show wear from every day use for 2 years. Plus the Pro 2 have some upgraded features. They are comfortable to wear all day and allow me to listen to music, podcasts and take calls while still being aware of my surroundings as I work outside most of the day. I enjoy the fact they are not in my ears. Definitely recommend.

||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been a fan of Shokz and open run for years for the simple appeal of being situationally aware while biking, hiking and other sportz. The latest iteration realy ups the bass and overall sound quality, use of a common charge cords, and handles sweat, water better than anything else around. Being able to wipe off the grime rather than digging out ear tips can't be overstated. Seriously a most undderated feature. Being situationally aware in any public area is the the biggest an most obvious selling feature.

Great Deal for OpenEar Headset
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I started off with the OpenRun headset and loved it. Saw this on sale and wanted some deeper bass and better volume. This definitely improved on both and also loving the extra battery. One of the best aspects of these open ear headsets is you can wear them for extended periods with not ear fatigue. Sometimes I even forget that I have them on. Definitely recommend this headset for those that don’t need earbuds in their ears.
