Open Run Pro 2 Black Shock S 820
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just got the Open Run Pro 2 Black Shocks S 820, and these are some of the most powerful headphones I've ever owned! The sound is crystal clear, and they're incredibly easy to maneuver and wear. I absolutely love how discreet these headphones are—I feel unstoppable whenever I use them!

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed earphones that hang on my ears while I run and work out b/c my airpods were not cutting it. I searched for the best earphones and these are it. stylish, clear sound, comfortable to wear. these can connect to and swap between various devices quickly so I often get home from my workout and go straight to working on my laptop. coworkers can hear me well on zoom calls. reminder: these are NOT noise cancelling so you can hear the elements but with the app there are pre set sound setting based on your environment. i usually just wear these in the morning so i haven't had any issues with battery life. very pleased with these.

Incredible sound quality ! Great product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Connects automatically to watch, phone, iPad. I use for cycling so I can hear the traffic but feel like the sound is all around me. Battery made it thru a 100 mile endurance ride. Highly water resistant! They stay on your ear and I don’t notice them while working out. The bone conduction technology is amazing. These are for if you want to hear what’s going on around you but still want good sound. Definitely check the fit as I have the short and the regular band which I like both. Some people may prefer the regular fit

My 3rd Shokz headphones & they didn’t disappoint
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My experience with Shokz goes like this. In 2019 my wife got us each a pair of Shokz “AfterShokz” for Christmas and we loved them. This past Christmas Best Buy had the Shokz OpenRun Pro on sale and we upgraded. I literally wore the paint off of my pair of AfterShokz during that time. Well, kind of. The select button stopped working on mine sometime while they were still under warranty (2021) and Shokz sent me a new pair which has worked without fail. My wife wears hers from the time she gets up until she goes to bed. I do not. But I do wear them around my neck at work and on my head only when in use. I’m not going to requote specs that are already listed in the product overview above. I’m going to concentrate on performance and how they compare to the Open Run Pros. For anyone not familiar with how bone conduction works, the headphones sit in front of your ears and transmit the sound through your bones under them. Shokz says it a bit better and more technically: “Bone conduction technology converts sound into mechanical vibrations transmitted through the skin and temporal bone to the cochlea, bypassing traditional air conduction transmitters like the external auditory canal or eardrum.” What it means is that you can hear ambient sound around you and what’s coming through the headphones as if you weren’t wearing any headphones. I love them for phone calls and when listening to music. The OpenRun Pro 2 perform far better than the OpenRun Pro for listening to music. They are getting into the range of HiFi headphones. I was impressed! Where the Shokz headphones excel, is with their open ear design in quiet to moderately noisy environments. However, these are not what you want to wear when mowing your lawn with a gas-powered lawn mower or when in an environment that has a similar level of noise. You will want something that’s noise cancelling that cover your ears or seal up in the ear canal for high noise levels. That last sentence also applies to true high-fidelity sound. While the Open Run Pro 2 are Shokz’ best so far for high fidelity sound, they cannot compete with high end headphones or ear buds designed for HiFi sound. Shokz are primarily bone conduction headphones are not designed to do that. As ambient sounds get louder, the bass response will seem to get weaker, but the mids and highs will still come through pretty good. But when the ambient sound gets even louder, it will reach a point to where you will need to increase the volume to hear the mids and highs. But when listening to music in a quiet environment, they do an excellent job. Especially when compared to the OpenRun Pro they are the successor to. The larger rear firing drivers make a Big difference in bass response and the dual driver design improves the highs dramatically too. Going a little deeper on sound quality. Shokz says: “OpenRun Pro 2 redefines open-ear audio with DualPitch™ technology, blending bone conduction for clear mids and highs with air conduction for deep bass.” Yes, the bass response is much better than the previous OpenRun Pro and the highs are way better too. The drivers are firing backwards into your ear. This works conjunction with the bone conduction tech to give enhanced frequency response. Downloading and using the Shokz app lets you select EQ presets or create a couple of your own via a five band graphic EQ. Note: there are only 2 EQ presets available on the OpenRun Pro. Since they are open ear, they have a certain amount of sound leakage. Especially with the rear firing drivers. Shokz claims it’s “leak-free”, but it isn’t totally leak free. In fact, I think they have slightly more sound leakage than the previous model. My AfterShokz have even less leakage, but they don’t have rear firing drivers either. But don’t let this scare you. Someone will have to be pretty close, say under a foot from your head, in a quiet environment to eavesdrop on a conversation with success, and with the volume set at a moderate level. The OpenRun Pro 2 has dual mics with AI noise reduction and wind resistance. My take, once you get past the over-worded sales pitch. Performance wise, it does make the background pretty quiet for the person you’re talking to on a call. My wife noticed a difference between the OpenRun Pro and OpenRun Pro 2 when I was talking to her coming home from work. She said it sounded kind of boxy at times. When talking to her while I was at work in different environments, she didn’t notice it sounding odd. Just very quiet between talking and not talking. They look so much like the previous model I have, nobody at work noticed the difference and I didn’t tell them. 😉 Battery life is very good. Up to 12 hours when listening to music, talk time is stated at 6 hours, but I’d say maybe 8 hours tops. Charge time options are 1 hour for a full charge, or 5 minutes to get 2.5 hours of use. I assume that’s from when it tells you to charge it. One thing I was glad to see was a USB-C connector to charge it. The OpenRun Pro has a proprietary magnetic charging attachment to charge it them. Cool? Yes, but not practical if you need to take them with you or they run down and you don’t have it with you. USB-C solves that problem. It has a rubber cover that you need to peel back to insert a USB-C connector. If your fingernails aren’t long enough to peel it back, use the USB-C connector to. 😉 All of the Shokz headphones I have used have fit very well and been comfortable to wear for long periods. Remember what I said about my wife? 😉 An IP55 water-resistant design to resist rain, splashes and sweat. The only thing that is a problem with fit is inherent by design. You can’t lay your head down on a pillow in bed with these on. The band will push them too far forward to work. The Mini version on the “right” sized head might make this a non-issue. Other things to note is 33 feet BT range, I think it got that and then some, a 2 year warranty. Comes with a nice case and short USB-A to USB-C cable, warranty card and setup guide. BT was easy to pair with my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and iPhone 12, work phone. The app works the same on both phones too. And when you get the app, check for firmware updates. There was one there, even for this new of a product. Start-up time is faster than OpenRun Pro too. Conclusion: I used the OpenRun Pro 2 in many environments: In a vehicle, at work, outside, on my E-Bike, running and at home. They performed much better than my OpenRun Pros sound wise. Especially when listening to music. As I stated earlier, these are not my first Shokz products. They are very well made and, in my experience, Very Durable. Very Highly Recommended. My wife is waiting to see what colors they come in!

Perfect for Hearing Aid Users
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the OpenRun Pro 2 for a while now, and honestly, they’re a game changer. Since I wear a hearing aid, most regular earbuds just don’t work well for me because they block the ear canal or cause discomfort. The OpenRun Pro 2 uses bone conduction technology, which means the speakers sit outside my ears instead of plugging into them. That’s what makes them so great—I can keep my hearing aid on, still hear the environment around me, and enjoy music or podcasts clearly. The sound is surprisingly full and clear, with strong bass for bone conduction headphones. They’re lightweight, comfortable for long runs or walks, and I don’t feel any pressure in my ears. Battery life is solid, and the quick charge is really convenient. I also love that I can have a conversation with someone without pausing or taking them off. For anyone who uses a hearing aid, or just doesn’t like having something shoved into their ear, the OpenRun Pro 2 is a fantastic option.

One of the best open ear headphones available
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The good: Open ear, so you can hear around you while listening. Calls are clear. Controls are buttons instead of taps so no accidental taps. They're comfortable and don't create any sore spots with long term wear. Usb-c plug so they're easy to charge. Long battery life; some days I put them on in the morning and they're still going when I go to bed at night. The sound is superb. The bad: I can't look up or it falls off. Despite being bone conduction people sitting next to you can hear it. Highly recommend these if you don't want noise cancelling headphones.

Best choice for Cycling!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First time having bone headphones. Pretty Awesome. I mainly use these for exercising and riding the bike. Pros: The headphones sit well on the head. Don't have any real irritating feeling when wearing them long term. The sound is just fine. When wearing headphones to work out or ride I'm not looking for crisp sound. However, the sound quality that you get from these is really good. Dont sound that distorted as other reviews state. When riding the bike you do hear the wind in the ear which does cause the music not to be heard or as clear. But that is to be expected, not to mention when riding you want to be aware of your surroundings. Which is PERFECT for these headphones. They keep me in the grove while helping me stay aware of what's going on. If you are looking for noise-canceling headphones then these are not for you. The battery on these puppies last! The first day after a full charge lasted me 7hrs before I turned them off. Now that's awesome especially when you go on those 100-mile rides! Cons: when talking on the phone, it can get a bit difficult for other people to hear you if you have a lot of noise going around, and vis for versa for you hearing them. But if you are in a quiet office space, then I don't see any issues using these for calls.

Amazing gift for dad
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got these for my dad's birthday, and he wears them 24/7. He emphasized their sound quality, and comfort; often forgetting he even had them on. They stay on without worry of falling off, and the battery lasts longer than listed, often going 2-3 days without needing to charge. Excellent product!

Upgraded from OpenRun Pro One
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The OpenRun Pro 2 is a nice upgrade. Sound is significantly better with bone and air conduction, which makes the bass much nicer. Most importantly the switch to Type-C charging was much needed. I have and use the OpenDots One too (will probably upgrade to the OpenDots 2 soon), but both sound great. I would say I enjoy the OpenRun Pro 2 more. The OpenRun Pro 2 allows for better outside hearing. The sound blends in with outside noise much better than the OpenDots. I don't hear outside noise as well in the OpenDots One. I find myself pausing my sound in order to talk to sombody, whereas the OpenRun Pro 2 can simultaneously hear and talk much better (at the right volume of course, not full blast). I have listed a few pros for each in case anyone else is weighing between the two different Shockz products. OpenRun Pro 2 Sounds better (dual conduction is awesome) More comfortable (forget I have them on) OpenDots One Looks better No band wraping around the back of your head More versatile Use for sleep and while laying down I do really enjoy both pairs for different reasons and uses, but if I had to choose one, I'd pick the OpenDots because they are the best options I have found for sleep (lower volume), while being able to hear other noises (baby/toddler, dogs, door, etc.).

Great for cardio and household work
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the quality. The sound is great. Louder than necessary but not as loud as your typical Beats headphones. What really sells this is how I can listen to music or audio books while still being able to hear what’s around me and having conversations. AND nothing going into my ear causing pain or discomfort!

Perfect for the office
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got tired of coworkers coming up behind me and talking at the back of my head when I very clearly had headphones on and couldn’t hear them. I love the fact that with these, I’m not so far removed from my surroundings that I become oblivious to sounds around me. Great sound quality and very comfortable. So lightweight that I often forget I’m wearing them

These headphones are perfect for my daily uses
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son bought a pair of these OpenRun Pro 2 a little over a month ago and let me try them. I quite like the convenience and sound quality of these so I decided to buy one as well. I don't do well with earbuds because they tend to fall out quite easily. These open-ear headphones not only stay on comfortably, but also allow me to be aware of my surroundings. The side button for quickly answering phone calls is nice as well. I remember trying out the first generation OpenRun Rro in Best Buy over a year ago. I did not really like how they would constantly vibrate the temples of my head when the volume was higher. Also, they had a dedicated charging cable that was not USB-A or C. this second regeration OpenRun Pro 2 fixed both of those issues for me. There is no longer vibrations on each side of my head, and the USB-C charging means I can just use the same cable to charge my phone/tablet/headphones. The longer battery life over the first generation is a nice upgrade too. Of course, if you're looking for noise cancellation features or are out in public places where the noise level is high, these headphones won't be the right fit.

Exceeded My Expectations
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Since they were released, AirPods Pro have been my go to earbuds. They’re compact, conveniently turn on and pair to my iPhone right out of the case, and boast excellent sound quality and noise isolation. Now that temperatures are cooling down here in the Midwest, I’ve been doing a lot more walking/running, biking, house upgrades, and getting back to working on my project car. Even though AirPods have tranparency mode, I prefer to have my ears completely unoccluded while I’m in public or anywhere there is vehicle traffic, especially when I’m walking my dogs. When I’m working on my project car, I noticed that my AirPods would constantly get bumped out or start to slip out as I get sweaty and dirty. I picked up the Shokz Openrun Pro 2s for these applications and they fill this role perfectly. Don’t get me wrong, I still love my AirPods for general daily use, but now I grab for my Shokz any time I’m doing any of the aforementioned activities. I was a bit skeptical about sound quality and adequate volume with open air headphones, but the Shokz do not disappoint. They get plenty loud, have clear vocals, and plenty of bass. It feels like you have your own private concert going on with the benefit of it not bothering anyone else who might be in your immediate vicinity. Because the Shokz wrap around the ears, I’ve had no issues with them slipping due to sweat or falling off if bumped. They feel well built and have nice clickly manual controls right behind your right ear. They pair quickly every time. The hard shell case they come with is compact and can easily be stored in or clipped to any bag. The Shokz app is pretty basic, but allows you to see batttery percentage and change EQ settings. Long story short, if you’re an active person who wants to maintain complete situational awareness at all times, these are the headphones for you.

Perfect Blend of Comfort, Awareness, and Sound Qua
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve been using the Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 for a few weeks now, and they’ve completely changed how I think about workout headphones. The bone conduction technology really delivers — I can clearly hear my music and podcasts while still being fully aware of my surroundings, which is a big plus for running or cycling outdoors. The Steel Blue color looks sleek and stands out just enough without being flashy. The fit is secure and comfortable, even during long sessions — no ear fatigue, no slipping, and I forget they’re even there after a few minutes. Sound quality has noticeably improved from previous models. The bass response is stronger, and the midrange clarity is great for both music and calls. While they’ll never hit the deep bass of in-ear headphones, the tradeoff for comfort and situational awareness is absolutely worth it. Battery life is excellent — around 9–10 hours on a full charge, and the quick charge feature is a lifesaver when you need to top up before a workout. The controls are intuitive, and Bluetooth connectivity has been flawless with my phone and watch. If you’re someone who runs, bikes, or just prefers open-ear comfort and awareness, the OpenRun Pro 2 is one of the best you can get right now. Pros: Outstanding comfort and secure fit Great sound for bone conduction Quick charging and long battery life Safer for outdoor workouts Sleek, durable build Cons: Not ideal for very noisy environments Pricey compared to standard earbuds

The range is excellent. It filters wind very well. I wish it had another 20% volume at time, but overall very very impressed. I gave one to my father for Fathers Day and he is also enjoying it!
