Sneaks up on ya. Could be louder as well. In noisy gym settings it’s either you hear bass or basically nothing. I do like them though. Just room for improvement for sure.

Things went down hill from there volume bordering on abysmal and sound quality was the pits. How others gave such high ratings was a mystery to me. Also I am a fairly large guy and the fit wasn't great. I would look elsewhere or maybe the pro 2's are better. My pair is going back to the store.

There is also a phone setting that may resolve the low volume issue. -On the iPhone, go to Settings > Sound & Haptics > Headphone Safety, make sure that the Reduce Loud Audio Feature is switched off as this will affect the volume of the headphone. -On an Android, go to the Bluetooth Settings on the phone, find the headphone and make sure that the Absolute Volume feature is switched on for it. Perfect for work and if you still need to be aware of your surroundings. Like to use at work for calls and listening to podcasts. Sound quality is not as good as in ear buds.

I have hearing loss in one ear, but these make it possible to hear. Not sure how, maybe the vibration against my bone. Yet I can still hear my wife telling me dinner is ready!

I had a prior first gen Shokz unit that lasted close to 10 years. This was an excellent choice with faster battery charge and ease of pairing.
