These are the best headphones I’ve had for use when active. I actually have 2 pairs. Sound is great. Fit very comfortable. I forget that I am wearing them. The only negative is the battery life isn’t as long as advertised. I get from 4-6 hours of playtime. Advertised up to 8 hours. I have never gotten more than.

These are hands down and by far my favorite headset I have ever owned. Great battery life, fit, and just enough features to get the job done. If it really well and stay firmly in place when running, exercising, and working around the house. I have definitely forgotten to take these things off because of how comfortable they are.

Gave these SHOKZ to my husband for his BDAY and he loves them. While the SHOKZ are mainly for his use, I utilize them for work because they drown out all of the background noises when I’m on conference calls for work. In addition, these SHOKZ are lightweight and fit perfectly behind the head and around the ears, and they pair well with all of my APPLE electronics.

When I saw that Shokz had rebranded themselves from AfterShokz and released the updated OpenRun Pro headset I had to give them a try. Unboxing: The OpenRuns come in a nice logoed retail box and inside there’s a clamshell soft sided hard shell case and inside that is the headset very well held in and protected in a perfectly form fitting molded insert. In the other half of the clam shell there’s an elastic loop holding the proprietary USB charging cable. Also inside the box is a quick start guide, manual and card asking you download the Shokz app for either Android or IOS. Inspecting: I already have the AfterShokz OpenComm headset and really liked it, it is “was” my headset of choice when wanting to hear my surroundings. The OpenRun are really close to the same layout as the OpenComm except that there’s no boom mic and the MFC button is on the left side. The volume buttons are in the same location but are larger square switches instead of the small round orange ones of the OpenComm. The transducers of the OpenRun are larger, and there’s a grill mesh type opening on three sides of each, “front/back/bottom”, the OpenComms transducers are sealed with no openings. And the proprietary charging cable is still the same and you’ll have to make sure to keep track of it because you cannot charge them with a normal USB cable. Setting up: The new OpenRun is set up pretty much the same way, “I’m using Android so this review reflects that”. Pairing is really easy, just press/hold the + button till you hear “pairing” and pair to your phone. I tried pairing with a Google Pixel 6, Samsung S21 and a Galaxy Fold 3 and all paired without a hitch. Use: I was really happy with the OpenComm headset as I have some hearing issues and the bone conduction “for me” sounds perfectly clear for phone/voice conversations. Music was ok but sounded more “flat” with no base, and I only used them for phone calls. The new OpenRun headsets sound is much clearer, and does have more of a bass feeling than the old. The app also give you two settings for “Vocal” and “Standard” there’s no custom tweaking and hopefully Shokz will release and update that allows it. Using the app during calls and setting the app to “Vocal” calls are loud and perfectly clear. I made quite a few phone calls already and everyone thought I sounded very clear, I found that there wasn’t a need for the boom mic even when outside while it was fairly windy. Next I tried some streaming music, and set the app to “Standard”, there’s a definite difference in music quality over the OpenComm, music is a good bit clearer and there’s a definite boost in bass. It’s not earthshaking bass like you would get from OTE headphones but it’s good enough “for me” and I like having the my ears open when I need to hear things going on around in my environment “these are not noise canceling”. Conclusion: I’m really enjoying the new OpenRun headset, not having the boom mic means I don’t have to worry about that getting in the way. I so miss having it so I can simply grab onto the mic to mute it quickly if I needed to but I can easily deal with that since the sound clarity is better than the old model. Battery run time looks to be right around 10-12 hours, and I had a few very lengthy conversations that barely ran the battery down. Charging it is very quick and I could believe the manufacturer that 5 minutes gives over 1 hour of talk time. If you are looking for a new set of Bluetooth headphones and would like to keep your ears open so you can hear your surroundings then the Shockz OpenRun headset will be right up your alley. The bone conduction is sort of odd at first but you get used to it very quickly and these are so light and unobtrusive I’ve forgotten I had them on in multiple occasions.

The Shokz OpenRun Pro Premium headphones are a great choice for anyone who wants quality and convenience. The sound is crisp and well-balanced, making music and podcasts enjoyable whether I’m working out or just relaxing. One of the standout features is the microphone — it works really well for talking, with clear voice pickup and no hassle during calls. I don’t have to repeat myself or worry about background noise getting in the way. They’re also lightweight and comfortable, which makes them easy to wear for long periods. The open-ear design is perfect for staying aware of my surroundings while still enjoying good audio. Overall, the Shokz OpenRun Pro Premium delivers great sound quality, a reliable microphone, and comfort that fits both active and everyday use

Fantastic alternative to painfull earbuds. These rest on the side of your ear and transmit amazing sound through your upper cheekbone nearest your ear. Your won't believe the clarity and richness of the sound.

I've been wanting this for 15 years! Great for podcasts, voice, or pop/indie music with midrange/trebel focus. I'm giving this 5 stars, because it is even better than what I imagined and the bone conduction with open ear listening is super important to me. I don't like being unable to hear what's going on around me. Plus my ears don't get hot like they do from over ear headphones. NOTE Things with lots of bass don't reproduce well. For most things I listen to, the sound is great! For some music with more bass, it will be missing, but I don't care as much. FITS OVER GLASSES PERFECTLY - I looked it up to make sure, but when I put them on, they felt so natural and I didn't have to fiddle with them unlike the powerbeats3 headphones I had previously. Super easy to put on and manage (stays together, no separate wireless earbuds to lose) Turned it up to just past mid (higher than I prefer listening to) and people around me can't hear any sound even when hear by! The only cons are: 1. not for heavy bass music (like Mezannine Tear Drop), sometimes you feel the bump instead of hearing it; but I never experienced any buzzing or vibration. 2. can't really lay down with these on, because the band will push the side contacts out of the way. Maybe I should have gotten the mini version? If I prop my head right, I can lay back.

These are great. Everyone says my voice sounds the best compared to other headsets, my phone, or my speaker phone. Calls a clear. If there is background noise it’s hard to hear. Sometimes just highway noise does it. But the idea is to hear your surroundings. They are great for calls. Not the best for music. I have them turned all the way up most of the time. I’m under the belief that the wires run through the back side headset wrap thing. So I don’t have to worry about the Bluetooth signal going from one earbud to the other straight through my head. That will scramble your brains. Don’t get the separate buds !!! These are the best for phone calls. They suck if you like to wear hats or put your head against the headrest in your car because of the wire thing around the back. But you get used to adjusting it. Not good for music. No base. Not loud.

Very comfortable. The audio quality is great considering you can still hear the world around you. The sound change when you open your mount really wide is interesting. The only thing I don't like is the custom charging cable. It's not USB-C.

Bought these for my husband after he kept using our son’s pair. We use them for phone calls, music while working and working out. My husband was even able to hook them up to the PlayStation. The pro pair come with a case so we aren’t worried if we throw them in a bag. Once they have been fully charged we can use them for 2 days at work before the battery starts getting low. Personally I do not like ear buds in my ears or the headphones covering the entire ear. These are great because they sit just in front of the ear and are comfortable for the entire day. Our daughter runs between 2 and 8 miles a day and loves to run with them. She can hear the traffic and listen to her music without worrying they will slip off.

I am an avid runner and I needed headphones that could allow me to listen to music/podcasts but also at the same time allow me to hear my surroundings. These bone conducting headphones were the perfect solution. Podcasts sound great and clear. Music does lack the deep base but this is as expected for an open ear headphone. Battery life is great and I can run for about 8-9 hours before I need to charge them again (lower volumes = longer battery life). Overall, I would recommend these headphones to any runner or anyone that prefers to have the ability to hear their surroundings while still being able to listen to music.

The fit is alsome. I like the mechanical up-down volume. The battery life says 10 hours, I use them 2 days between charges. Sound quality is good, There are not Bose though. The strongest point is still hearing suround sounds while using, they don't seal off your ears.

Fantastic performance provided your expectations are reasonable. You won't hear every detail in your audio, especially in noisy places, but that's kinda the point - to hear your surroundings and your media. Mic is decent enough for calls, and they're comfortable enough to wear all day (although the band can get in the way of sunglasses).

This is an upgrade from my first pair of shokz. They are much better in sound quality and fit. Hear the music as well as being aware of my surroundings. Got them at a great price from Best Buy. So if you see them on sale pick them up you won't be disappointed. Battery life is also good.

The reason I'm putting down my musical qualifications is to put some weight to my review. I work out using these and from all the moaning and complaining about them, I was expecting a terrible sound. Not so! I decided to try them out despite the critical musical reviews, with the full intention of returning them. I will not. These are loud and great for working out. The music quality is very good and they don't hurt my ears. The best thing is that I can hear my surroundings, i.e., cars, trucks etc. I run distance so a lot can happen on the road. This is my "go to" pair for listening when walking or running on the road. I like them better than my AirPods Pro 1. Don't hesitate buying these. I got the blue ones on sale. A sale is hard to find, but I found one here at Best Buy for like 40 or so dollars off. I don't like paying full price for anything, so this deal checked every single box for me.
